Heads up, looks like Ollie’s Bargain Outlet in the United States is once again slashing prices on older WWE DVD sets! Just like the last time, the rock bottom $2.99 and $3.99 prices are back.
Here’s a report on some of the DVDs included, courtesy of BlogofDoom.com:
A discount/closeout store called Ollie’s is selling a nice selection of WWE DVDss and Blu-rays for $3 and $4. The store has locations in the eastern half of the states. Here’s what I remember them having:
– Stone Cold: The Bottom Line (BR)
– The Rock: Most Electrifying Man (DVD)
– The John Cena Experience (DVD)
– WCW War Games (DVD)
– The Best PPV Matches 2012 (DVD)
– The Best of RAW 2010 (DVD)
– Greatest Rivalries: Shawn vs. Bret (BR & DVD)
– The Best of Madison Square Garden (DVD)
– WrestleMania 22 (DVD)
– WrestleMania 23 (DVD)
– SummerSlam Anthology: Vol. 2, 3 & 4 (DVD)
– OMG! Top 50 Incidents (DVD)
– Rock vs. Cena: Once in a Lifetime (DVD)I’m sure there were more, but that’s the majority of titles at the two stores near me. I snatched up the SummerSlam sets and got the Bret/Shawn and Austin Blu-rays just to pad my collection. I couldn’t pass up War Games, either.
Shown above and below are photos taken at Ollie’s when they were running their past couple of “blowout” WWE DVD sales – lots of great deals for the completists among us!
Solid details on WWE’s new “Owen Hart: Hart of Gold” DVD and Blu-ray are still unknown, but we are hearing from multiple sources this week that the project is “in production” right now.
As of last word, a documentary portion on Owen is still planned to be the main feature of the set and the Home Video will be released before the end of the year, likely this December.
New logo artwork for “Hart of Gold” has come through, as shown below. Fans in the UK will have the first chance to pre-order the new WWE DVD/Blu-ray with Amazon soon at these links:
– WWE: Owen – Hart Of Gold [DVD]
– WWE: Owen – Hart Of Gold [Blu-ray]
We noted yesterday that US pre-orders for the new “Undertaker: The Streak 21-1” DVD in a limited edition, coffin-shaped box set were being taken here on Amazon.com.
By the evening the Amazon listing was marked “currently unavailable” and it remains that way now, so it’s a possibility that Amazon sold all of their allocated units on the first day of listing it!
The next WWE DVD release will be “The Very Best of WCW Nitro Vol. 3” this coming Tuesday!
As you can see, imagery of Hulk Hogan is used on its packaging. There’s a chance WWE would have removed Hogan from the artwork so as not to promote him but, as noted, the DVD had already been finished and shipped off so the company had no real opportunity to do so here.
Pre-order your copy of Nitro Vol. 3 in time for Tuesday on Amazon.com or WWEShop.com.
After Nitro Vol. 3 hits stores, the next one incoming will be Battleground 2015.
Below is a look at the planned front and back artwork of the DVD before it hits stores!

i m more interested in the matches for the owen dvd
The 2 matches that will most likely will be on the set is Wrestlemania X and the steel cage match against Bret at Summerslam, I would be surprised if those 2 matches are not on the set
His 1994 King of the Ring win has to be on it as well. I’m banking on it.
How could I forget that match? Thank you for reminding me, I agree with Owen’s 1994 King of the Ring match on it and I hope it will show him being crowned since that was cut on the King of the Ring set
Really hoping for his match with Sabu in 1993. Also a WCW match in his extremely short run there. I don’t have too much hope for that one though. Also, I’d hope for Owen’s last match from Raw Godfather/Val Venis .vs. Owen/Jarrett
I never knew Owen was in WCW, when was that?
He was in for 5 matches in 1991.
Cool, I never knew that!
Nice use of microsoft paint to do that “Hart of gold” logo…
…or amazon.com just pulled it because there was a listing error and possibly will cancel all the preorders if they list it as another item.
Can’t wait for the Owen Hart Blu-Ray!!! It will be a great Christmas gift!
The only title on that Ollie’s list I want is War Games to add to my WCW DVD collection. Several of those on that list I saw at the Ollie’s 45 minutes away from me the last time their sales was posted here. My city’s getting one opening Spring 2016, so hopefully these DVD sales continue!
Passed on the Undertaker Coffin – rather use the extra $35-$40 or so towards my purchasing other wrestling DVDs/Blu-Rays. Hopefully its offered on Blu-Ray – if not – I’ll pick it up on DVD.
Sigh – the only DVD/Blu-Ray that I don’t have/that I would be interested in getting of that list is the Best Of MSG” DVD one. Well I’ll be near a Ollies next week and hopefully they not only have the “Best Of MSG” DVD one but also have a few other DVDs/Blu-Rays that wasn’t on that list-ones that I would be interested in getting.
“Hart Of Gold” is fine but “The King Of Harts” would have been better. Definiately a Blu-Ray purchase for me.
How can he be the King of Harts when Bret accomplished a lot more than he did and is a two time king if the ring winner?
I thought the Owen Hart DVD was supposed to come out in November? It better come out in November
I even called WWEshop to try & get an answer to whether this Undertaker dvd will also be a basic release in stores like wal-mart & fye or if it was just limited to the 666 U.S. box set copies, the woman didn’t have a clue what I was even talking about!! How can this release be coming up so soon & everyone be so damn clueless to one simple question!?? It’s really gonna blow if we can’t buy just the dvd set in stores.
Not surprised
The way the description reads to me, it’s ONLY going to be the limited edition (for now at least).
sure, you did not get to talk someone from the Creative Team, since she was clueless!?! 😉
LOL coulda been man, coulda been!!
I wish they would use “King of Harts” instead of “Hart of Gold” but I do have to admit that is nice artwork though!
