Blog: WWE DVD Store Exclusives, Why These Are So Sought After

For many of us, the WWE DVD collector, certain stores offer exclusives for the WWE DVD’s they sell. These store exclusives can be very fun to collect and some usually end up being rare and hard to find after they are gone.

Usually the exclusives will include even an extra disc with more content, a dog tag, mini bust, cd, or in some case’s an extra DVD. The main stores that offer these exclusives are Best Buy, K-Mart, Wal-Mart, and my favorite FYE. These exclusives are usually only available for a short time and usually only come into the stores on the first delivery of the new DVD.

I am going to be talking about some of these exclusives and where they were or are available. Some of these are not available today at the stores they were originaly sold at but can still be found on EBAY and other sites. Some of these are best left factory sealed if you are able to find them, some of these if you find them sealed or opened are great to have for your collection. Some well be very rare and valuable, some well be not so rare or extremely valuable but are nice to have for your collection especially if you like to collect factory sealed DVD’s and/or store exclusives like the rest of us here at WWEDVDNEWS.COM!

WrestleMania 20 w/ Raw Homecoming DVD: This was available at Wal-Mart, this was a slim line case for the WrestleMania 20 that came with the Homecoming DVD. They were sealed together as a double pack with a sticker on the front advertising the free Raw Homecoming DVD. The Homecoming DVD is rare no doubt but finding this double DVD exclusive still factory sealed is a challange.

WrestleMania 25 Steel Book: This is available only in FYE stores and is currently selling on EBAY for between $60 and $110. The store price for it is only $40 and after what I found, I think there are still a few of these on store shelfs tucked away. I went to a FYE by Orlando Florida and found one of these still on the shelf, so if you see one of these i suggest picking it up right away.

WrestleMania 26 3 disc collectors edition w/dogtag: This was also sold only at FYE and released in small quanities. From what information i got each FYE store only got 2 or 3 of them in and sold very quickly. Now im sure in bigger cities some stores got a few more in, but most have sold out and they wont be back in. At the same store I found the steel book at i also found one of these, but only 1. So there is a good chance some of these are still in stores but when there gone they will stay gone.

WrestleMania 26 2 Disc set w/ The Greatest Superstars Of WrestleMania DVD: This set was offered only at K-Mart stores. Its the 2 disc set of WrestleMania 26 and is sealed together with the Greatest Superstars Of WrestleMania 2 disc set. Now originaly the Greatest Superstars Of WrestleMania DVD was released to Wal-Mart only, but now for this exclusive they released it in K-Mart stores only.

Roddy Piper Born To Controversy W/ 4th Bounus Disc: This DVD was exclusive to Circuit City stores, the 4th bounus disc that came with it had more Piper’s pits on it. If you can find it still sealed I would get it and keep it sealed, since Circuit City has went out of business this DVD wont be available any more.

The Best Of Raw 15th Anniversary W/ Bounus 4th Disc: This was available in Wal-Mart stores only and the 4th disc has the entire 1st episode of Monday Night Raw.

Wal-Mart Double and Triple Feature Sets: These sets are new but seem to be difficult to find. They have showed up on EBAY but I have actually not been able to find these in the stores and I have friends in other states that cant seem to find them either. But Throwbackchampion and a few others have found them in Wal-Mart stores so they are out there. One is a double feature and contains the first disc to Shawn Michaels Heart Break and Triumph DVD and the Jeff Hardy Story from the Twist Of Fate DVD. The other is a triple feature that has the documentry (disc 1) DVD from The Rise And Fall Of WCW, Life And Times Of Mr.Perfect, and American Dream, The Dusty Rhodes Story.

Viva La Raza, The Legacy Of Eddie Guerrero W/ Bounus 4th Disc: This was available at FYE stores and the bounus disc has the Smackdown Eddie Guerrero tribute show. This DVD did sell out pretty quick but if your lucky you could find one tucked away on a shelf at your local FYE store.

Viva La Raza, The Legacy Of Eddie Guerrero Tin Set: This tin DVD set was an Best Buy exclusive and came with 3 DVD’S and the Raw Eddie Guerrero tribute show. The DVD’s in the tin are Viva La Raza, The Eddie Guerrero Legacy, Cheating Deat and Stealing Life, The Eddie Guerrero Story, and No Way Out 2004.

Kane, Journey To Hell: This is another FYE exclusive release. It has various matches of Kane taking on Edge, Matt Hardy, Shawn Michaels, Undertaker, and Shane Mcmahon. There is a total of 5 matches on the DVD.

Triple H, That Damn Good: This is another FYE exclusive DVD. This DVD has 6 matches and Triple H’s return to Raw in 2002 after his quad injury. On this DVD Triple H has matches with Vince Mcmahon, Cactus Jack, Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle, and Stone Cold Steve Austin. The DVD extras are the histories leading up to the matches on the DVD.

Fye Tins W/3 DVDS: This is yet another FYE exclusive release. There is 4 tins they have release that contain 3 DVD’S in each. They are titled Legends Collection Vol. 1 and 2, The ECW Collection, and The Icons Collection. The Legends Collection Vol.1 contains DVD’S of Bret Hart, Jake The Snake Roberts, and Brian Pillman. Legends Collection Vol.2 contains DVD’S of Superstar Billy Graham, Dusty Rhodes, and The Legacy Of The AWA. The Icons Collection contains DVD’S of Vince Mcmahon, Hulk Hogan, and Roddy Piper. The ECW Collection contains the DVD’S of ECW one Night Stand from 2005, ECW Blood Sport, The Most Violent Matches, and ECW December to Dismember.

WrestleMania 25 Deluxe Edition W/ 64 page Book: This was released in Wal-Mart stores and has a mini 64 page book titled The History Of WrestleMania. The book has all the results from the past 24 WrestleManias as well as fun facts about the WWE.

The Self Destruction Of The Ultimate Warrior Collectors edition: This is the rare 2 disc edition that was released only in FYE stores. The second disc has a few more matches from the Ultimat Warrior’s career in the WWE.

Trish Stratus 100% Startusfaction Guaranteed Collectors Edition: This is the rarest of the rare for store exclusives. This was only released in FYE stores and continues to be the hardest DVD to find.

Hulk Hogan Ultimate Anthology W/ 4th Bounus Disc: There is actually 2 different sets of this DVD that contain a bounus disc. One of them has a bounus disc that contains 3 episodes of Hogan Knows Best that was exclusive to Best Buy. The other has a bounus disc that has 5 extra matches, the promo from the Raw homecoming show, and highlights of Hogan winning the 1990 Royal Rumble, this one was exclusive to Wal-Mart.

Best Buy Ultimate Fan Boxes: These ultimate fan boxes were exclusive to Best Buy Stores. They have DVD’S of the superstar as well as other fan merchandise of the superstar the boxes features. Best Buy had fan boxes of Shawn Michaels, John Cena, Rey Mysterio, and Edge.

FYE Pay Per View Tins: FYE had exclusive tins for certain pay per views that the DVD’S came in. These tins were made for certain events in 2007 and 2008.

FYE Exclusive 2-Pack DVD Release’s: FYE has released several 2-pack DVD’S, some are still available today while some have sold out. These are not exclusive DVD’S but exclusive to be released with each other. Here are a few, The Legacy Of Stone Cold Steve Austin with Cause Stone Cold Said So. Hulk Hogan Ultimate Anthology with Hulk Hogans Unreleased Collectors Series. Hart and Soul, The Hart Family Anthology with Bret Hart The Best There Is, The Best There Was, and The Best There Ever Will Be. Smackdown 10th Anniversary with Raw 10th Anniversary.

Hell In A Cell W/ Mini Busts: These were another FYE exclusive. They came with the hell in a cell DVD and your choice of one with either a Kane or Undertaker mini bust. The kane bust was limited to 3500 made and the Undertaker was limited to 6500 made. As well as coming with the mini bust it also comes with COA that has the number of the mini bust like 1000/3500.

As this list seems kinda long, its actually really short compared to all the exclusives that are out there. Now I’m sure I could have added some more to the list or there may well be some that you think should be on here, but the bottom line is the store exclusives are fun to collect and can be a nice addition to your collection. Remember, the best part about exclusives is they wont be around forever, and they are only sold at one store. So if you see one at the store make sure to grab it why you can cause there is no guarantee that it will be there tomorrow!
