Hands have been shaken between WWE and Fremantle on a deal over three years in the making which will see the WrestleMania 15, 17, 18 and 19 DVDs back on store shelves in the run-up to this year’s WrestleMania 36 Pay-Per-View extravaganza!

WWE WrestleMania 15 (XV) DVD - 2020 UK Re-Release

WrestlingDVDNetwork.com has word that on March 23rd, 2020 these ragin’ WrestleMania events will see new, individual releases to fans in the United Kingdom. We’ve got our hands on the approved cover artwork for all of these DVDs and we’re sharing it exclusively throughout this update.

WWE WrestleMania 17 (X-Seven) DVD - 2020 UK Re-Release

Edits… what edits? We hear the footage on the discs will be untouched and in its original form, so with the exception of tweaks to the packaging artwork (e.g. WWE logos in place of WWF logos) expect to see the WM15-19 DVDs released exactly how they were originally — we’ll be listening out for Limp Bizkit’s My Way on the WrestleMania X-Seven re-release!

WWE WrestleMania 18 (X8) DVD - 2020 UK Re-Release

This iconic announcement comes as part of a WrestleMania-themed campaign beginning on March 23rd, 2020 in around 80 HMV stores across the UK. From that date, in participating stores, you’ll see WWE-branded racking that will house as many as 50 different WWE DVDs and Blu-rays — including a few Steelbooks and Special Editions too — with on-shelf prices of just £7.99 and £9.99.

WWE WrestleMania 19 (XIX) DVD - 2020 UK Re-Release

‘Mania 15, 17, 18 and 19 delivered the legendary trilogy of matches between Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock, and Rock’s unforgettable encounter with Hulk Hogan.

All of these events have of course been unavailable on DVD format for many years due to the various clearance issues. The plan to get them back on store shelves in the UK began way back in August 2016 and more than 3 years later we have confirmation that they will be on sale once again in HMV stores where they will be exclusives for the length of the campaign that’s timed nicely for WrestleMania 36.

And speaking of WrestleMania 36, we confirmed last week that the DVD and Blu-ray release date will be May 12th in the United States and June 8th in the United Kingdom.

WrestlingDVDNetwork.com also revealed that the U.S. release will include a free Kofi Kingston trading card.

This NEWS will likely be nonexistent a month from now. THANK YOU COVID 19 😛

    2. Patrick McNamara says:

What happened to your article on Super Showdown 2020 and Elimination Chamber 2020 DVDs? Did something happen? Did anyone say anything to have the article taken down?

    3. RabidHeat says:

Hmmm, so the page on WM36, SSD 2020 and EC 2020 has been removed… iiiiinteresting. I’m assuming this is because of big changes to the ‘Mania release, given everything that’s happening?

      • RabidHeat says:

Also just noticed that WWEDVD.co.uk have taken down their listing for the Online Exclusive WrestleMania set with the bonus disc, which figures since Takeover: Tampa Bay won’t be happening.

        • David says:

I wouldn’t be surprised if WWE drop the WM36 DVD/Blu-ray release completely given its basically an empty arena show spanning over 2 days. Or maybe they are going to bundle the WM36 DVD/Blu-ray and include EC 2020 and SSD 2020 as bonus discs since there is no Takeover and HOF. But I think the later is a long shot.

Still an unfortunate situation and no telling how long these empty arena shows will be happening for because I don’t see any large gatherings happening any time soon especially how quickly this virus is spreading and can be deadly. Also seems like this year is a write off for WM and I think they are just going to get it over with, move on and focus on next year in Los Angeles, hopefully by then everything will be back to normal somewhat.

          • RabidHeat says:

I do hope we’re back to something resembling normality before April 2021! 🙁

SSD and EC are no longer up for pre-order on Amazon so I’m wondering if production of them is proving a problem during this difficult time.

    4. RabidHeat says:

Okay, well I couldn’t possibly have known that since it’s not been reported, lol.

    5. RabidHeat says:

Something tells me that these are the potential extra releases for this year (besides the current PPV-only schedule) that were alluded to for the UK. Nothing all that great or new then. 🙁 Just re-releases.

    6. BAS says:

Something I just noticed with the WM XV artwork is that the spine matches the individual WrestleMania re-releases that came out in 2013, and just like that release of WM XV, Shawn/Bret from their Iron Man match are presented on the spine as opposed to Rock/Austin.

I know the artwork isn’t always final, but I always found it funny how there was never any revised copies of the WM XV 2013 release since the image of Shawn/Bret being on the spine is an obvious error.

    7. RabidHeat says:

Those who are asking why WrestleMania 16 isn’t being released, I imagine it was because there was only room for four releases for whatever reason, and they have therefore made a judgement call as to which are the more iconic shows and will sell better; they also may be purposely picking the shows that were not being released due to music rights etc. (Undertaker was not at WM 16, so there were no Kid Rock or Limp Bizkit issues to get around yet).

I realise music rights may not be the issue for WM15, but I understand why they still chose WM15 over WM16 because it contained the first Austin/Rock ‘Mania match. When you think about it, the cluster that was the ‘Mania 16 card consisted mostly of multi-man matches that not many people look back on as legendary. If they had been authorised to release 5 sets then I’m sure WM16 would’ve been part of it, but if they had to pick 4, I get why it was these ones.

Another interesting note – the “Ragin’ Climax” tagline has been removed from the WM15 cover. Gotta love the PG era, lol.

    8. DDT says:

note it says NXT bonus dvd is a website exclusive on wwedvd uk website but here it says that it will be available at ASDA. Bet you ASDA wont charge two quid extra for it. Fuck wwedvd uk i wont order from them again.

      • RabidHeat says:

No need for the F word really, was there? But yeah, the postage charges on WWEDVD.co.uk make it almost never worth buying from there.

        • DDT says:

Apoligies Rabid i just anoyed that they say it exclusive cos that is lying… to customers. you lie to me i wont buy from you. i dont mind there postage charge if you order a few together then it is generally worth it.

    9. WHAT! says:

Can wrestling dvd network confirm if the wrestlemania’s 15-19 dvd will be available to purchase through wwedvd.co.uk/amazon.co.uk or only hmv store exclusive?

    10. BorkLaser says:

Can Wrestling DVD Network confirm if the wrestlemania’s 15-19 dvds will be available to purchase on wwedvd.co.uk/amazon.co.uk or are only available at HMV stores?

    11. CMW says:

Will WM 15 have the Bossman hanging on it? I seem to recall that part was removed from previous releases.

    12. SRB says:

So this is going to jump from WrestleMania 15 to WrestleMania 17 and skip WrestleMania 16 completely? I’m glad I bought the US versions a long time ago and have kept them in mint condition. Another crappy media move by WWE

    13. Richard W says:

Regarding the WM 36 DVD set coming out on 5/12/2020 in the USA, will that set also include the HOF ceremony as I remember the past two releases neglected to have it included as part of the package, so just wondering if this will be the third time this is going to happen or will they finally include it as an extra disc to the set?

      • David says:

The last couple years the HOF ran over 3 hours (i believe 2018 was close to 4 hours) and seeing how Wrestlemania is about a 6-7 hour show, I think the HOF will probably be a digital exclusive again like with 2018 and 2019 as I don’t think they will make the DVD version 4 discs and the Blu-ray 3 discs in order to keep costs down and since they have scaled back on DVDs significantly I don’t think they care and are only releasing DVDs to satisfying their distribution agreement with Warner and the very small selection of fans

Since they skipped on the HOF due to the length they would replace it with a crappy episode RAW after WM. I would rather they include NXT Takeover instead since that is ALWAYS the highlight of the weekend. Wrestlemania in quality has gone down a lot the last several years and has basically become the show where part timers come out from their retirement home for a paycheque and pushing Reigns down our throat for a 3rd crowning moment and 5th straight main event because WWE can’t make new stars outside of 1 because they dropped the ball on so many of them, then they blame the talent for their garbage booking and creative, thus the 73 year old out of touch old man keeps going back to these broken down legends who shouldn’t be wrestling in 2020, let alone hold their main titles and main event the big shows.

        • LP1 says:

Pushing Reigns down our throat? He hasn’t been in the World/Universal Title picture in a year and a half. He hasn’t won a WrestleMania main event in 3 years. And he wasn’t even in the main event last year, so no idea where you’re getting 5 straight years from.

          • RabidHeat says:

My theory is that Reigns asked for a good year or so away from that main event push spotlight and all the negativity following his illness. It doubled up as a way to reverse some of the fan hate towards him, which I would say is why Vince agreed to it. But I imagine now they’re getting right back on the horse with the Reigns push.

      • RabidHeat says:

I don’t see why every year people start pondering whether the HoF will start to be included again. It was a clearly a new practice that came in a few years ago to not include it, so no, obviously not.

I prefer getting the Raw after ‘Mania anyway. The speeches at the HoF are so long that I get fatigue watching them.

    14. BAS says:

I understand bot wanting to pay a lot for 17, but 15, 16, and 18 can be bought for a decent price, so we’re covered in the U.S. as far as that’s concerned.

If you’re lucky, 17 can be bought for a decent price too. I actually managed to get it for $36

    15. BAS says:

For those in the U.S. complaining, I kinda get it because 17 is the expensive one of the bunch, but 15, 16, and 18 are pretty easy to get ahold for a decent price. If you’re lucky, 17 can be bought for a decent price too. I was able to get 17 two years ago for about $36.

But like I said, I understand, you don’t wanna fork out all that money if you don’t have to, plus being UK exclusive, that would mean having to pay the import fees if you’d be willing to do that.

    16. BAS says:

Question for those in the UK, if anyone can answer.

The article states that the only changes made to these new releases are the box art reading WWE as opposed to WWF and I know your versions of the tagged classics featured all past WWF releases unedited as well.

How is it that the re-released products can have everything remain intact? Is it because it’s being released by your home video distributor and technically not being released by WWE or what?

      • Ruthless.Attitude.Eras.4Life says:

Bas: I can see them nix the Benoit interview from the extras on X-7..if they at all go with including the extras that were on the original. Will be exiting to see once WDN team get to present more details on content.

    17. Ruthless.Attitude.Eras.4Life says:

Great for those who have a hard times finding these classics in their original editions. For me personally, I doubt I find any thing “new” since I own the original-, anthology-, and tagged classic editions of them respectively.

Nice to see that fremantle have a new deal with WWE.. keeps my hope up for a huge Undertaker release.

And while we are at it with re-releasing classics: come MITB..make that re-release of MITB 2011 on blu, huh!? 😉

      • Ruthless.Attitude.Eras.4Life says:

*in the voice of le Champion* “…I stupid idiot”, regarding my misunderstanding of fremantle and WWE deal.. -LOL at my self-

    18. Maximiliano Meza says:

You could’ve mentioned it was UK Exclusive. Most of us are American… dam, what clickbait

    19. Timothy Thorpe says:

Wish I’d have known this before I bought 15-18 online recently. Any word on what the bonus features are? Are they the same as before or will it be all new?

      • Andy Garland says:

i had to hunt for the used copies online and was able to buy 16 and 17 of wrestlemania. i wish the classic starrcdes would be rereleased since wwe is using the starrcade name

    20. Leezo2012 says:

Nice to see these again although I already have the original releases. Hope they are as originally released although I would be stunned if Don’t Go Messin with a Country Boy survived on the X-7 gimmick battle royal as WWE has been editing this theme for years. Also hope that artwork on the spine of XV is fixed for release. The Bret vs Shawn match is from WrestleMania XII and was a mistake when I-XV were rereleased in the U.S a few years ago.

    21. Pam says:

      So its only UK exclusive?

    22. LP1 says:

This seems so random. I get that they want to re-release those PPVs uncensored, with no blurred logos and all that, but why not re-release Manias 14 and 16 as well? Those were also events that used the WWF attitude logo. Just weird to re-release only 15, 17 and 18. And 19 is even stranger since that event was a WWE event. No WWF logos on that one.

    23. G Dog says:

What about 16? What’s its issue?

    24. RCS1988 says:

How come Mania 16 isn’t included?
