This set better be as glorifying to the big men, a passion near and dear to Vince’s heart, as the High Flyers collection was to the Junior Heavyweights/Cruiserweights. (Side note, I’m still pissed that the original Dynamite Kid/Tiger Mask match from MSG did not make the cut on that collection as it literally was the very first exposure a mass audience in the US had to that style. All that is to be found is grainy ass VHS or youtube clips.) For me, as long as Vader gets his dues, Yoko, Bam Bam, and P.N. News (just kidding), then the set will be fine for me. It’s not an easy subject to discuss, as the Legends of Wrestling roundtable so brilliantly explains. It is a genre within a genre within a niche that has evolved more times than the business itself, it seems. Some of these big guys, the really great one, have long overshadowed the regional or minor big guys who had just as much an impact on the sport/business as well as fans such as myself. To this day I tell my wife that we are going to get a British Bulldog, and it will be named Vader in honor of my all-time favorite wrestler. Deal with it, I’m an odd sumbitch…
DB im watching the Best of Sting DVD and they seem to have restored Michael Buffer Ring Announcing and his introduction is intact in the Hogan vs Sting Match at Starrcade 1997 when before he was edited out on numerous DVDs/Blu-ray..
Can you tell me if his Ring Introductions are Complete and intact on the WCW Best PPV Matches Volume 1 Blu-ray and The Best of Great American Bash Blu-ray and OMG Top 50 Incidents in WCW History Blu-ray please as this information is vital to me purchasing those Sets thanks..
Note why have they put the Hogan 2002 Dubbed Theme from the Network on the Hogan vs Sting Match when on the Network Version of Starrcade 1997 has dubbed in his NWO theme lol…
It’s best not to think too much about WWE and music edits. It’ll only lead to a paded cell?
If I recall, Buffer is muted on the WCW PPV Matches set.
Wondering if Giant Gonzalez will be on it?
I hope Giant Gonzalez is on it as well.
All I have on DVD are his 2 matches against Undertaker.
I’m pretty sure he had matches against Randy Savage & Tatanka.
I would love for the WWE to release some sort of oddities DVD set w/Gonzalez, Damien Demento & Bastian Booger, guys like that.
I think it would be a fun blast from the past compilation.
Giant Gonzalez z definately did have matches against Randy Savage and Tatanka. He wrestled Tatanka in a.KOTR qualifying match, which Tatanka.won by DQ, and he wrestled Savage the night after Summerslam ’93, which Savage won, I think that was his last match in the company, no, I think the battle royal for the IC title was his last match.
Too bad WWE doesn’t own the rights of Vader best work which was in NJPW. His matches against Stan Hansen and Anoki were legendary.
Also i hope Bam Bam finally gets his dues in this blu ray as he is truely one of the greatest wrestlers to step in the squard circle. I hope his match against 123 Kid from WWF Superstars 1995 makes the list.
I wish Andre would get his own documentary set
I’d like to see the Undertaker featured. If Diesel’s being featured, so can the Undertaker.
Khali – a true giant
I wouldn’t consider Mark Henry a giant
I like the Blu-Ray cover.. I just hope I get to see one of my favourite matches, which is taking a long time to come out on blu-ray & that is Bret Hart Vs Yokozuna from WM9 – Im mostly interested in the match itself – not the ending with Hogan!
I’d also like to see some matches including Earthquake & Typhoon & The Giant Gonzolaz Vs The Undertaker!
