  2. Bartholomew says:

    Argggh I’m full!

  3. Shaun says:

Is the tribute videos for both DVD and blue ray or just blue ray

  4. Julio Moreno says:

That Owen-Kid match from KOTR 1994 is among the best under-10-mins matches ever. Good inclusion!

  5. SCSA says:

I just received my copy of the Owen Hart Blu-Ray yesterday in the UK & I have to say that It has some amazing matches!
I was mostly looking forward to the WMX match on blu-ray against Bret Hart! Though my best match so far I have to say has been the 2nd one Vs Shawn Michaels at In Your House 1996!
The Documentary was rather short, though worth watching 🙂

  6. Anan says:

Nice match listing. Would have liked more bluray exclusives. Only 2 matches there? They coukd’ve added a Owen Hart tag team title or IC Title win and/or defense, vs Shamrock at Summerslam 98, the entire RAW is Owen episode, the Survivor Series 1993 Family Feud match, Royal Rumble 94, Summerslam 94 vs Bret Hart, vs Taker on RAW 1996, WM14, Unforgiven 98, his Slammy Awards speeches, Bret Hart’s Owen stories from his HOF speech. There’s a ton of more stuff they could’ve added. I’m sorry I don’t mean to complain here as what they have is good and they were “handcuffed” by Martha so the fact that this set is even getting released…….

  7. jason says:

Should have been more matches atleast 5 more……. wtf

  8. Bobby Duncan says:

It’s not an Owen Hart set without the Owen Hart Tribute Match!!!

  9. Anan says:

P.S. Sorry for the double post and if the following question has been answered already.

Have a question. Hope someone can answer it. Anyone know where that photo of Taker is from? Taker’s not in any of the matches that comprise this set. That’s actually why I’m asking. Is that photo from the set or….

    • MikeS_87 says:

That photo is from the six man “flag” match from the July 21,1997 Raw. Team Canada – Owen, Bret and Bulldog v Team USA – Taker, Austin and Dude Love. Great TV main event from that time. It’s on the greatest factions set and the raw 20 box set. I think it’s possibly the only time that Owen and Taker faced one another? Could be wrong though

      • Brad Attitude says:

it’s also on the Hart Family Anthology dvd set too.

      • Anan says:

Thanks for answering. I havent seen that flag match in a long time. If i remember right, he came midway into the match. The match served as preview of sorts for SSlam 97 because Austin and Taker were on one team opposite their SSlam opponents, Owen and Bret.

Taker and Owen met before. In 1996 on an episode of RAW, they met one on one. I think they closed the show or at least were the final match of the night. Taker hit a big jumping Tombstone on Owen for the win. At KOTR, during Taker vs Mankind, Owen commented on his experience on facing Taker.

  10. Anan says:

Amazing set coming at the end of this year! Any wrestling fan or Owen Hart fan should have this in their collection. Any wrestling set collector who’s looking for a set full of unreleased stuff/rare gems should have this.

While I’d like to have seen a Owen Hart/Jeff Jarrett match, maybe the match from WM15 because it was Owen’s last WM and one of the better matches of that event, the Hart Family vs Shawn Michaels and his Knights from Survivor Series 93, Hart Brothers vs Quebecers from Royal Ruble 94, Owen vs Bret from Summerslam 94, all for obvious reasons, if this set sells, maybe we’ll get an Owen Hart compilation set that includes those aforementioned matches and more. Owen’s matches in 1998 aganst HHH at WM14 and Unforgiven, vs X-Pac at KOTR would be a welcome addition to such a set also.

    • Brad Attitude says:

Dude, the Hart Family vs Shawn Michaels and his Knights from Survivor Series 93, Hart Brothers vs Quebecers from Royal Rumble 94 and Owen vs Bret from Summerslam 94 are all on the Hart Family Anthology dvd set!!!

  11. Ryan Johansson says:

I would agree that I would have liked to see an Owen & Jeff Jarrett tag team match and maybe also a Nation of Domination match but alas I have been waiting 16 years for an Owen DVD and now it is real. In 3 months I will be proud to have this DVD/Blu-Ray on an amazing person and wrestler.

  12. Steven Jackson says:

This looks like it is going to be an excellent set and do Owen Hart proud. So many great matches and forgotten gems which I have never even heard of before. I am looking forward to seeing the documentary and I hope that this helps to show just what a great man Owen was.

I hope that the proceeds in some way go to Owen’s family, but Martha probably would not want that, which is a shame :/

Nevertheless, I am so excited to check this out and this will be a rare Pre-Order for me 🙂

  13. The A-Man says:

I’ve probably missed it in previous articles, but can someone please confirm the documentary length for me?

  14. captain planet says:

With the inclusion of the lumberjack match, how many Owen vs Bret matches are left to be included in DVD/BR? I think there’s another one from Raw, but I imagine most of them are spread apart on various sets.

  15. John Peterson says:

All I gotta say is top notch.I’m very happy with this set. Can’t wait for December 8.

  16. Aaron says:

The stampede wrestling matches are nice inclusions but my money says that they’re not in their full entirety and will probably only show the last 5-10 minutes of it.

  17. Brad Attitude says:

The match listing is decent, but too many jobber matches though. Would’ve liked to have seen the Japan match vs Jushin Liger or the Owen Hart Tribute Match (as a bluray exclusive). Don’t like how his career ends with a 1998 throwaway match when it could’ve easily added a tag team match with him & jeff jarrett. A tag match with British Bulldog on the set wouldn’t hurt either.

    • RCS1988 says:

They would NEVER include the Owen Hart tribute match, and it’s already on DVD, no need for Blu-ray.

      • Brad Attitude says:

how do u not add a match in memory for a guy that’s passed away?

        • Stephen says:

Easy, have one of the competitors be a guy that the company doesn’t want to acknowledge due to a certain weekend 8 years ago that could have led to the entire industry coming under criminal investigation and closure

  18. LP1 says:

I really don’t know why people are complaining about the Owen vs Sabu match not being on here. It was a dark match at a TV taping, which means it may or not have even been taped. And if it was taped there wouldn’t be any commentary.

I’ve had this same conversation with someone else here about dark matches at TV tapings. WWE doesn’t like releasing matches that have no commentary unless they are legendary matches(like the Hogan-Andre and Hogan-Warrior single camera shot matches) or matches with historical significance like the Harts vs Rockers SNME match(a match that was taped for SNME, but had to be cut due to time constraints.)

So I wouldn’t worry too much about missing a match that may or not exist on tape.

    • attitude.era.4life says:

Could have been sweet to see it, but thanks for clearing that up..

    • RCS1988 says:

“WWE doesn’t like releasing matches that have no commentary unless they are legendary matches(like the Hogan-Andre and Hogan-Warrior single camera shot matches)” They could have easily kept the commentary in an still showed it from the hard camera only. I figured the 3 matches I wanted didn’t make the set and BTW all those Owen tributes didn’t all air on RAW, some aired on Sunday Night Heat, probably due to time constraints. I wouldn’t care if the dark matches had commentary or not. Usually tryout matches are taped so that they could be viewed later.

      • LP1 says:

Adding commentary to the Hogan-Andre and Hogan-Warrior matches would have defeated the purpose of what those single camera shot matches are supposed to be. You’re supposed to get the feel of watching those matches as if you were in the arena. That’s what those matches are about. Commentary would have ruined that experience.

        • Vintage Simon says:

“WWE doesn’t like releasing matches that have no commentary unless they are legendary matches”

I take it you’re not including the entire Raw: After The Show set in that analysis then?

          • LP1 says:

The majority of material on the “After Raw” release are talking segments and post match brawls. There’s only a handfull of matches. Also, that was a special release specifically for things that took place after Raw, so of course there wouldn’t be commentary. Other than that one unique release, there aren’t many other WWE releases that include random matches with no commentary.

  19. Justin F says:

They actually are going to talk about the 1998-1999 Blue Blazer. WOW….

  20. Ryan says:

Match selection wise, this set is nearly flawless. I would have liked to have seen that match against Sabu, but there isn’t much else to complain about. There are quite a few things on this set I don’t remember seeing despite being a big WWF fan at the time (Owen-Shawn 93, Blazer-Perfect, Bret-Owen lumberjack, Blazer-Rooster, Blazer-South, WM 11 workout). The Stampede matches are interesting inclusions to boot. Really looking forward to this one.

  21. attitude.era.4life says:

This release is the latest in physical media productions by WWE, that really makes the DVD media pale in comparison with Bluray.

Sure..the archive footage is SD, which is the main content of the release.. but, the extras should make it an easy choice.

Bluray players and Full HD tv’s are not that expensive these days..at least my experience here in Denmark.. and yes, you have to pay a little extras for the Bluray version of a release..but, this Owen release is just one of plenty where the extras really are worth the switch to Blue World Order. 😉

  22. attitude.era.4life says:

Awesome! I’m hoping, that this Owen Hart bluray concept could be similar to what they did with Ultimate Warrior, obviously upside down, so, that we maybe next december can expect a match compilation.

I don’t know much of Owen’s work outside WWF ppv’s, so the matche selection suits me very fine on this.

Rare matches mentioned by many in here that did not make the cut, especially I got excited for the Sabu match some brought up, could be freakin’ cool on a future set. But, for now, this is going to be a greater December than normal. 🙂

  23. Nicolas Hébert says:

WOW!!! This Blu-Ray set will be awesome! The 1-2-3 Kid vs Owen Hart from KOTR 1994 is on it great choice! I preordered it severeal weeks ago on Amazon.ca in Blu-Ray. Can’t wait to watch that on December 8th!

  24. Tommy D says:

To everyone upset about things being Blu Ray exclusive, why don’t you purchase a Blu Ray Player?

  25. Will setter says:

Finally the kid match! Could have been a few mismatches on blu ray but still a day one buy for me. I can’t wait!!!!!!!

  26. Jayke1981 says:

How that’s displayed is that the tributes are Blu-ray exclusives – I do hope that ISN’T the case. I’m sad that there aren’t any of Owen’s and Jeff’s matches.

  27. Indyfan says:

I’m actually quite surprised!! Set looks great!!!

  28. John says:

I knew 123 Kid vs Owen would be a blu ray exclusive and I am happy it it is included! I am surprised Steel cage match against Bret is not on the set but it is still a great match listing! I am looking forward to getting the set!

  29. Lemo says:

Yes Yes Yes The 123 Kid match from KOTR 1994. What a selections.
