In an exclusive report from earlier this week, WrestlingDVDNetwork.com revealed that WWE has an Eric Bischoff DVD set planned for next year, with a documentary main feature:
Eric Bischoff Documentary Added to WWE’s 2016 DVD & Blu-ray Schedule?
Yesterday, Eric Bischoff himself confirmed its go-ahead on his official Twitter account and shared the photo below of the WWE crew filming the documentary portion of the set.
Just this month alone WWE has featured Bischoff in several new projects including on Home Video with “The Monday Night War Vol. 2” and on the WWE Network in the form of a “Top 10 Most Controversial Moments” special, in addition to a 2 hour interview on “Legends with JBL”.
The new DVD/Blu-ray’s release date is not set but we’re seeing it penciled in for around April/May 2016 at present. Given the time frame, future releases are, as always, subject to change.

What happened to the news about the Featurette?? We only got the Superstar news this week
Nice to see him jump back on the WWE gravy train after leaving TNA in ruins due with his idiotic storylines and hatred of the X Division. And thanks for bringing the Nasty Boys into TNA Eric, that was awesome.
Seems like many people in the industry does that, go back to WWE. I have an old TNA PPV on DVD, and there is some footage from a fan convention where Road Dogg mentions how happy he is to not work for WWE anymore. So I was very surprised when he returned to the company a few years ago.
I’m not, Money draws people in. Maybe not everyone in the world, but many, perhaps the majority will do anything for money. WWE’s where the money is so that’s where Road Dogg went.
Lots of fun promos and segments to add on in the bonus features, so not too worried about a lack of matches. Although it’d be pretty cool if they added in the Team Austin vs. Team Bischoff match from Survivor Series 2003.
Yes. I’m likely ging to pick this one up. Usually docs have matches as part of the special features, but Bischoff to my knowledge was not a wrestler (not really though he did have some matches) so I wonder what the special features will be made up of. I know of his WWE matches where he faced Shane Mcmahon at Summerslam 2003 and against Vince Mcmahon on RAW in 2004 with Austin as the guest referee. He also faced Stone Cold at the 2003 No Way Out PPV.
I’d like for WCW talent, ones currently contracted to WWE in Booker T and Sting as well as DDP, Flair, Nash, Hall, maybe even Goldberg to be in the doc if/when they cover WCW.
They should include the full WWE tryout video from 1990. They only showed parts of it, but never the whole thing. They could also include some of his favorite matches to call in WCW as in his favorite matches he enjoyed doing the commentary for.
I’ll probably pick this one up but in all honesty, the idea of Bishoff & Vince in a dvd like Bret vs Shawn would be MUCH better if it had some sort of new material, face it, the Monday night war story has been worn out & there’s probably nothing they could say that’s not been repeated a million times before….I’m thinking Bishoff’s dvd should be a 2 disc dvd.
I appreciate Bischoff’s contribution to wrestling and the documentary could be decent if done properly. But I fear that it’ll be a rehash of the same old Monday night war stories that we’ve heard a million times before. Filling 2 BR/3 DVD discs could be a real challenge too. To see Bischoff get a set dedicated to him when there are so many truly gifted in ring performers (Andre, Rude, Angle, RVD, Malenko, Ted DiBiase Sr and Christian, to name a few) who are all worthy of a comprehensive documentary/match compilation set and are yet to get one leaves a sour taste in my mouth.
Birds of a feather flock together…in this case the similarity is you all are smart marks. Face it guys, Bischoff is a big deal and a lot of people want to hear his story, myself included. Not everyone is an adrenaline pumping dirt sheet reader wanting to hear all about Paul Heyman but dismissing WCW and Bischoff in a kneejerk reaction. This will sell much better than Heyman’s, too.
I’d rather watch gum being chewed.
The Bischoff vs McMahon dvd however would’ve been more interesting!
Would like to get a doc on Bischoff and see some classic moments. But does it HAVE to include his “matches”?
Garbage
I just heard his whole career on JBL’s new show. Complete waste of a dvd.
next subject following the Bitsch release: A Vince Russo career perspective, where its now HIS time to -Bash- (pun intended)Eric, Heyman and others…
just, like Eric likely on this release is gonna continue to keep trashing Russo for being a more a§§ than he was..which is definitely -not- the case..they equally both are simultaniously booking genuises and idiots..
One other thing they do have in common: they lost to a Giant, that was more intelligent than they could ever be together…and that Giant is now making huge money on their storied history.
Hell.. who am I kidding!? The Giant got me..againg! of course I’m gonna get this, just to see how manipulating good stories there’s gonna come out of the Bitsch’es mouth…of course, “candid and Unscripted…”, just like the Monday Night War vol. 2 release. 😉
They should include the “Top 10 Most Controversial Moments” 30 minute special and his two hour “Legends With JBL” interview on the DVD/Blu-Ray. He didn’t wrestle alot – didn’t do alot of interviews alone like Paul Heyman – what else they going to put on the DVD/Blu-Ray? at least those two specials will fill up the DVD/Blu-Ray some.
9 mathces.. I only remembered 1 – the Stone Cold match from nWo 2003 – but another article in here had other ppl stating the other 8 matches.
I just suppressed them all, cos none of them are very memorable.-lol-
