That temporary logo for “WWE UNRELEASED 1986-1995” we’ve had eyes on for what feels like forever has just updated to reveal the full-fledged DVD cover artwork!
WWE will unearth this highly anticipated collection of hidden gems this summer — and there should be no worry about repeats here; the 3 disc set promises to be packed full of never-before-seen, new-to-Home Video (and anywhere else!) matches featuring The Undertaker, Andre the Giant, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair, Randy Savage and Jake Roberts, to name but a handful.
In an exclusive report last month WrestlingDVDNetwork.com unveiled plans for the first 2 matches slated to make the cut and today we can speculate on another:
The Ultimate Warrior & Legion of Doom vs. Demolition
Madison Square Garden, circa 1990.
Our sources suggest that final tweaks are being made to the match selections now and as is typical once the artwork is unveiled the content listing is never far behind, so check back daily!
Until then let’s get a look at the box art, which comes to us courtesy of WWE Home Video UK:

This week more details emerged on the newly-revealed “NXT: From Secret to Sensation” DVD and Blu-ray, in the form of a poll that was posted on the official WWE website.
It reveals that the Home Video release will present some sort of a ranking or countdown of the greatest Superstars in the history of NXT. The following 25 stars are all named in the fan vote:
— Alexa Bliss, Asuka, Baron Corbin, Bayley, Becky Lynch, Big E, Bo Dallas, Bobby Roode, Bray Wyatt, Cesaro, Charlotte, Corey Graves, Ember Moon, Finn Bálor, Kevin Owens, Neville, Paige, Rusev, Sami Zayn, Samoa Joe, Sasha Banks, Seth Rollins, Shinsuke Nakamura, Tye Dillinger, Tyler Breeze.
At this time we expect to see a documentary main feature on the brand’s rise to prominence and a compilation of matches that may well be chosen following the results of the poll.
You may notice the WWE article refers to the new NXT DVD/Blu-ray being scheduled for November which may be a typo unless plans changed since the last update that had it listed for December.

[…] yesterday’s cover artwork reveal, WWE Home Video UK have just let loose the complete content listing in anticipation of the 3-disc […]
Full match listing is on the wwe dvd UK website
If that listing is accurate then it’s awesome. 45 matches and all stay true to the never-before-seen theme. I’m guessing the listing will show up on this site today.
I just realized the article says “we can ‘speculate’ on another” referring to the Warrior/Lod vs Demolition MSG match. What does that mean? You’re guessing it’s on there? Is it definite or not?
Oh just shut up and be grateful you’re seeing these old school matches again, whether they’ve been released or not. It’s not everyday you come across them.
Quit being such a drama queen.
Not sure what you’re babbling about Kevin, all I asked was if the match will definitely be included or not.
I think they mean it’s definitely going to be included, but we’re just speculating on which night in 1990 the match happened.
Hi LP1. It’s a fair question. So far we’ve seen indications on the Owen, Taz and now this MSG match being included. We’re not confirming any of them because of the “tweaks” WWE appear to still be making to the content (meaning some bouts could be swapped and changed before the final list).
Ok. Good to know.
personally I actually hope the jobber matches including Taz and Hart don’t make it onto the final release.
I much rather have competitive matches between less popular guys than that.
They are on there
Amazing cover. Can’t wait to see content listing. And NXT a month early. Yes please. (:
Hulk Hogan’s unreleased collection had WCW PPV matches & house show matches that were released onto VHS, Bret Hart also had house show & WWE PPV & WCW PPV matches that were released onto VHS, and the ECW unreleased series had matches that were released under another distributor before WWE owned the footage. The point I’m making is simple, when WWE advertised something as “unreleased” then they mean it’s never been released on WWE DVD. They don’t acknowledge VHS since it’s an unavailable outdated format or anything else released outside of their “universe.”
Now me personally I wouldn’t mind a few home video exclusive matches than matches that are just “unreleased” cause as we saw with the Attitude Vol. 3 collection or other sets like Bret’s that unreleased doesn’t always equal quality in either in the ring action or production values.
I hope there is some coliseum video matches on here as well. And no it may not be true to the “unseen” title but oh well its WWE what do you people expect?? Besides try looking up some of those coliseum vhs tapes on Amazon and see how much money some of em are.its ridiculous. Be grateful there might be some on the set.
A couple of notes. The 2009 Hogan Unreleased set only had 2 matches total that were released on VHS in the past. Their home video department probably didn’t even realize it back then. The Bret Dungeon set specifically said “never before released on DVD” on the back cover. As for any matches from WCW and ECW that were released before WWE purchased them, they wouldn’t count obviously because it was out of WWE’s hands. This new set, unlike the Bret, Hogan, WCW and ECW sets, specifically says “unreleased and never before seen”. Those other sets didn’t say never before seen. That’s the key here. Just because VHS is no longer available doesn’t mean those matches have never been seen.
But we can argue that those ECW sets had released matches since they are released through RF video and Pioneer. Was Coliseum video owned by WWF?
I said the WCW and ECW ones were out of WWE’s hands. That was before WWE purchased them. Coliseum Video wasn’t directly owned by the WWF. They were a distributor based in Manhattan that had the license to release WWF home videos. Other than one video made for the NY Giants, Coliseum worked exclusively with the WWF. No different than Silver Vision or Warner Brothers or Freemantle or any other company that has distributed WWE videos. WWE would produce the videos and Coliseum would distribute them.
You forgot they also distributed porn. Coliseum actually produced the videos. There is a podcast called The 2 Man Power Trip. They did an interview with the guy who ran Coliseum Video. Its6a good listen.
Evart Enterprises did porn, but not under the Coliseum Video name. Evart owned Coliseum.
I can see this becoming a Collection on the WWE Network by the end of the year. I’ve stopped buying DVDs and Blu-Rays, except for documentaries, so I hope this comes to the Network soon so I can see some of these matches.
Watch, they’ll include the Shawn Michaels/Razor Ramon ladder match anyway but instead present it in the form of the “Arena Hard Camera” just like they did with the Hogan/Andre match on the History of WWE set.”The match was never released from this angle”
Oh I hope the ladder match is on there! Please dear God let the ladder match be on there!
Now that’s a nice looking cover. No Hogan though unfortunately. Hopefully he’s on the back or inside.
I’m glad Hogan isn’t on the front so other guys can get to stand out for a change.
He is on the disc several times! Check the full listing on wwe dvd UK site
The inclusion of Warrior & LOD vs Demolition changes things. If they’re going to include matches that have been released on home video before then it’s not exactly “new to home video”. Now granted there are a lot of good matches that were only released on Coliseum Video, but they should reword their description to not confuse people.
Coliseum exclusives absolutely have to be on this. I want at least half to be from them. I grew up on those.
That’s fine, but this release is called “Never Before Seen”. I just think it’s misleading.
I don’t see Tom Magee on the cover. I guess he’s not in it. You all lose!
I can’t wait until this goes on amazon pre-order here in the US!
Definitely going to be getting this set come the Labor Day weekend.
Judging based on the cover with who is on it, I am gonna have to buy this. Bret, HBK, Macho King, Piper, Warrior and Taker… nice!
I prefer the temporary logo over the new one.
I hope they include the Wrestlemania 10 ladder match because I haven’t seen it before and I keep hearing it’s good.
Um that match has been released countless times already so there’s no chance some guy sorry.
He was being sarcastic.
The title is “never before seen” and I haven’t seen it so it would apply
WOW!
This is hands down the greatest cover ever!
Ultimate Warrior front & center…other legends surrounding him.
Very F*cking cool!
This is real wrestling, none of that goofy attitude era cr@p.
This should (& hopefully will)be amazing!
Why, because The Ultimate Warrior is better than those other guys around him, or something? Lol!
Umm, yeah, of course, that’s what happens when you focus on the legends of wrestling.
That MSG match with Warrior/LOD vs Demolition was released on a Coliseum Video before, should it be listed as a different location?
I think you can work around that though as it’s never been on DVD before
I actually hope they are going that route. there are countless matches that have been either released on home videos or were only broadcast in certain areas (like a lot of the eighties houseshows) that would make for great additions for such a dvd.
(I much rather have some great “Coliseum exclusives” than some random jobber matches)
Completely agree. So many gems on coliseum video
That doesn’t lend credibility to their use of the phrase “never before SEEN” though!
I think they should just list the match without the location and I think it will either be Hershey, PA 8/28/90, Wheeling, WV 8/29/90, Flint, MI 9/19/90, Springfield, IL 10/9/90, or Cape Girardeau, MO 10/10/90. I don’t think it will be the MSG or SNME matches.
You might be right. Unless Daniel knows for sure that it’s gonna be the MSG match.
I d lose my shit if they put on ibe of the Rougeaus vs Rockers iron man matches from the late 80s.
*one of
All of you are marks.
And your not? You must be one of those smart marks that thinks they are better than every other wrestling fan….
We are all smart marks. Don’t kid yourself.
I’m the biggest mark!
As far as I can tell a mark is just somebody who enjoys and expects good in-ring wrestling, and I’m really wondering what’s wrong with that. Not going to apologise for being a “Mark”.
Where is Hulk Hogan?
My first thought as well
Hopefully there somewhere just not on cover to save face
He said a bad word that Vince can’t forgive him for remember?? That’s why no Hogan
