January 10, 2013 by Daniel Bee

We can now confirm that WWE: The Best of In Your House will officially hit stores on April 30th, 2013!

WWE WWF In Your House

The 3-Disc DVD (or 2-Disc Blu-ray) boasts the chance for fans to own the hit pay-per-view series never-before-released on Home Video. The official synopsis for WWE: The Best of In Your House follows below.

In the mid-90’s, no pay-per-view series produced more epic matches, historic moments or championship showdowns than WWE In Your House. Debuting in 1995, In Your House pay-per-views were the preeminent setting for the top Superstars in WWE to settle their scores in the months between the “big 4” events. In 28 total events over five years, In Your House and its unmistakable insignia solidified a permanent place in WWE through the iconic Superstars it hosted and the litany of innovations that stemmed from it.

True WWE fans will reminisce about the first ever Hell in a Cell, Inferno and Buried Alive Matches, the debuts of Kane and Big Show, and the genesis of several yearly stables such as WWE Backlash, Judgment Day, Unforgiven and No Way Out – all originating at In Your House. This 3-disc, eight hour collection features championship level matches from all the top WWE stars of the 90’s, such as Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, Triple H, The Rock, Kane, Diesel and many more!

    ripper vs ajlee no. dq

  2. thejmp187 says:

Well based on the synopsis. U know u have the first buried alive match inferno and hiac, u know u have austin vs mcmahon.. They just need to put some fresh stuff on it for it to be anygood, and yea it is a best of but they could do half released stuff and half unreleased itd be fine w me. There’s plenty they could add, new stuff.. Sort of lol they’ve released lots of the best iyh matches aside from vader vs shamrock and hbk vs shamrock..and I even think vader vs shamrock is on a dvd somewhere meh I wanna see the listing

  3. Jammer says:

Actually, what would be nice if the Blu Ray extras were the matches that were already released on DVDs in the past, stuff like Davey/Yoko vs. Diesel/HBK, and HBK vs. Owen, and Diesel vs. HBK, as examples. I think everyone would have those matches already on the various other DVD releases over the years, so for people who still buy DVD could get majority of new stuff (as well as repeats) and the BR extras can just be the repeats. But I doubt that will happen.

    • Crab Shack says:

i don’t think fans would be satisfied to watch the extras only to find out its all repeated stuff we have already seen. its called extras for a reason and not to mention, we all want our moneys worth.

  4. miz4life says:

Anything from Backlash’99 is a must.

  5. KarlKayfabian says:

I predict 5-6 of the following repeats will be included:

    1st Hell in a Cell

    Diesel vs Shawn, NHB

    10 Man Tag

    Bret vs Davey

    Shawn vs Mankind

    Shawn vs Double J

    Rock vs Austin

    Austn vs McMahon

    Austin vs Dude Love

    1st Inferno Match

    Disel/Shawn vs Yoko and Davey

    • Simmons says:

Yea, and? Should they put a bunch of skip and zip matches instead? It’s a best of IYH dvd.

      • Anonymous says:

There’s plenty of unreleased, top-level stuff that which shouldn’t be subjected to repeats or Zip matches. It’s very easy to find those matches on $6 DVD sets, so those whining and wanting repeats should just use that energy to buy those sets and quit whining or trying to “support” WWE by conditioning fans to expect repeats. No one wants repeats and all they’ll accomplish is to reduce sales.

      • KarlKayfabian says:

Was just making a prediction, not a complaint. Try barking up another tree, tough guy.

  6. NoseyPosey says:

The Hell in a Cell Bad Blood 1997 Match between Undertaker and Shawn Michaels is on the Following 4 Releases:

Undertaker This is My Yard 2001 1 Disc DVD
Shawn Michales from the Vault 2003 2 Disc DVD
Undertaker Tombstone The History of the Undertaker 2005 3 Disc DVD
Hell in a Cell Greatest Hell in a Cell Matches of all Time 2008 3 Disc DVD

    • Steve G says:

You forgot one: Best of In Your House 2013. This way they can keep the clowns who weren’t even interested in wrestling back then happy. There are plenty of good matches to choose from that can be unreleased.

  7. X-23 says:

There were 28 IYH events. I would like to see 28 matches, one from each show!

  8. Featherbrain says:

The matches that come to mind for this best of (and really should be a no brainer) are:

    – Bret Hart vs. Davey Boy Smith (WWF Championship Match)
    – Hart Foundation vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin, Ken Shamrock, Goldust & LOD
    – Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels (Hell in a Cell Match)
    – Bret Hart vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Vader vs. Undertaker (WWF Championship Match).

  9. NickP says:

On a trip in the dominican and still gotta get my dvd news. When comes to dedication, you cant beat a devoted wrestling fan.

  10. KarlKayfabian says:

I think WWE would have to purposely go out of their way to screw this up.

  11. Brad Attitude says:

This set sounds damn hot, but it all comes down to the match listing ….

  12. Anonymous says:

The only things I’d really like to see are:
July 1996-Austin vs. Mero, Undertaker vs. Goldust, Vader/Owen/Bulldog vs HBK/Sid/Ahmed
    Mind Games- Undertaker vs. Goldust
    Buried Alive- Austin vs. HHH
    It’s Time- Hart vs. Sid
Final Four- HHH vs. Rock, Main Event
Revenge of the Taker- Austin vs. Hart
Canadian Stampede- Mankind vs. HHH, Undertaker vs. Vader
    Badd Blood- Owen vs. Farooq
No Way Out 1998- Shamrock/Ahmed/DOA vs. Nation
Over The Edge 1998- Rock vs Farooq Kane vs. Vader
Fully Loaded 1998- HHH vs. Rock, Austin/Undertaker vs. Mankind/Kane
Breakdown 1998- JBL vs. Vader, Austin vs. Kane vs. Undertaker
Judgment Day 1998- Henry vs. Rock, Undertaker vs Kane
Over The Edge 1999- Rock vs. HHH, Austin vs. Undertaker

  13. mark says:

Why do they keep doing dvd sets on the same guys.I have been waiting on a utimate andre the giant dvd for years.

  14. Duane says:

For having a good overall set is more important than having unreleased material. I like to see new stuff to but if you look at the last Austin set a lot of that stuff had been released before. But the set itself was a good overview of his entire career. I know it’s been released a bunch of times but to me a Mick Foley DVD that doesn’t have Hell in a Cell would feel incomplete. Maybe he could record commentary for the match so that something new is added to the footage. Either way I love Foley and I’m buying the DVD. I’m just pointing out that I don’t think unreleased content is the most important thing. That’s just my opinion though.

    • Dave says:

I agree…additional commentary with Foley and JR would be a treat like with the Austin set with previously released matches.

Also people forget the blurry mess the HIAC match was on previous releases, since the scratch logo was everywhere. It will finally be shown unblurred on DVD and Blu-ray (minus Tagged Classics).

  15. Reality CHeck says:

Some of you guys who support anything and everything the WWE does need to smarten up. The company actually wants constructive criticism. It’s how they better themselves and it’s the only hope to getting a better product.

My constructive criticism is they should ALWAYS stay away from putting out matches that have already been released. New releases should always feature at least 90% new and original content. If there’s something that’s already been released, people can always buy it on any of the prior releases. Constructive criticism number two: every compilation should have multiple relevant matches with all-time greats like Austin, Flair, HHH, Michaels, Sting, The Rock, etc.

As a consumer, I only get excited about and only buy when there’s a release with 90 to 100% fresh content. For example, the nWo release I won’t even look at, but, while I feel the Nitro match listing is lackluster, I’m buying it because it’s all unreleased except for one match. Keep that up and I keep on buying. Start with the repeats and I begin losing interest — an interest that may never return.

    • SRB says:

That’s a hell of a good reality check. Took the words outta’ my mouth. Well said and fully agree.

    • Mabel says:

Some of you guys who support anything and everything the WWE does need to smarten up.

That line pretty much sums up a guy named DAVE who is a wwe nuthugger who will obey anything wwe does or says and force it down our throats in we disagree or have a complaint.

      • Anonymous says:

I totally agree. Dave is a tool. Don’t complain about repeat matches, because for some reason it offends him, but he is always complaining about blurred matches. Dave takes the fun out of commenting on this site.

        • SRB says:

@Anonymous… Dave ain’t the only one who can rip the fun outta this place. I love giving my opinion here and have people call me stupid for it. I guess after watching for 25 years and having gone to countless events I guess I still don’t know a thing. It happens.

          • Anonymous says:

I agree it happens, but Dave is taking it to another level. Personally, I believe that the site administrator needs to step in and calm him down. Thumbs up this post if you have ever been ridiculed by Dave for having your own opinion.

            • Daniel Bee says:

Guys, many of you have very strong opinions on the whole issue of WWE repeating matches on their DVDs. Personally I see merit in both arguments and as far as I can see these ‘wars’ in the comments section here stem from those strong polar opposite opinions clashing. I can’t really see anybody purposely going out of their way to spread hate and bad feeling toward others, so at the moment I don’t think any action needs to be taken. Rest assured we’re always keeping an eye on things.

I think our DVD community here in the comments is generally a lot more harmonious than discussions on many other wrestling sites I come across, so let’s try to keep it that way. The common interest/bond and having a place to share it is something to be proud of. Respect other opinions and don’t be overzealous promoting your own!

          • JasonGoldsmith says:

I feel ya–I took up my wrestling habit in 1982 and I’m still called a dummy by these kids today that have watched for 2 years now.
I’d say us old timers have forgotten more good angles than they remember.

    • AJ says:

Or there are people who bash anything WWE does. The nWo DVD had very few repeats and usually when there are repeats, it’s so you have the definitive collection. Its like when you buy every album from a musician and that musician puts a “best of”, you’re going to get repeats. If it’s the Best of the In Your House, why would you exclude matches that help make the event.

Not that I don’t agree with constructive criticism, but it’s rare to find “constructive” wrestling criticism. Some just enjoy it and not let every loss think someone got buried, or every lower card is being held back, Vince is evil and he makes the DVD match listings and specifically says “ah we’ve released Shawn/Taker HIAC a few times, hell, I’ll do it again HAHAHA”

      • Anonymous says:

We can also add Vincenzzzo to this list of guys who support anything and everything the company does. I feel sorry for them more than anything else because it’s clear they believe they’re helping the company when it’s the furthest thing from the truth.

  16. Dave says:

Another IYH match that hopefully makes it is Sid vs Bret Hart from “Its Time”, definitely an underrated match.

From the same PPV Undertaker vs. Executioner Armageddon rules match was a fun and wild brawl, highlight for me was when Taker tossed Mankind through the “house” set.

HHH vs. Marc Mero also had some pretty good matches from Beware of Dog and Its Time, so hopefully one those make it.

Another underrated match is Stone Cold vs. Marc Mero from International Incident. I enjoyed the KOTR match more, but still was pretty good.

From Final Four Bulldog/Owen vs. Furnas/Lafon was a great tag match as well.

  17. Justin F says:

The last In Your House was Backlash 1999. So expect some Attitude Era content on here, obviously.

  18. Jeremy says:

If it has Hbk vs Ken Shamrock and Hbk/Sid/Ahmed vs Owen/Bulldog/Vader, then it’s a must buy.

  19. Geolink says:

In Your House release is a must buy.

  20. John says:

I see Owen! It is going to be a great set, I am sure! Hoping for some Owen matches on it!

  21. Anonymous says:

Although officially the PPV’s were still subtitled IYH up until April 1999, the No Way Out PPV feels like the final IYH event because it was the last one to use the IYH ring apron and subsequent shows weren’t referred to as IYH events, just Unforgiven, Over The Edge, Fully Loaded and so on.

    • neverAcquiesce says:

They still had the IYH branding, albeit very small, through April ’99. The apron switch coincided with the debut of the scratch logo and Attitude.

    • neverAcquiesce says:

Am I the only one who’s hoping for Michaels/Shamrock? If only for Shawn’s badass DX tights.

      • Jeffrey says:

I agree. Please let that match be on there.

      • Jammer says:

Yes!! HBK vs. Shamrock hasn’t been released on any WWE DVDs either yet, so I am hoping it’s on this In Your House DVD set.

      • Jammer says:

Matches I am hoping for on the In Your House DVD set…

Sid vs. Diesel from IYH 1 and 2
Diesel vs. Bulldog from IYH 4
Dean Douglas vs. Razor Ramon from IYH 4
Diesel vs. Bret Hart in the cage from IYH 6

Then anything else involving HBK or Bret Hart that hasn’t already been put on DVD.

  22. wrestlingfan says:

I hope it has all the ultimate warrior matches from his comeback. I hope the goon is featured also

  23. Anonymous says:

I really wish they would leave out the 1st Hell in a Cell, one of my favortie matches ever but who doesn’t own this that’s a WWE dvd/bluray collector of any level? Even 1st Buried Alive & Inferno are on the same Undertaker DVD. PLEASE GOD have some rare & previously unreleased IYH matches!!! This has the potential to be the best set of 2013 IMO.

    • Dave says:

This is called “The Best” of In Your House…so expect those matches to be in…they’re not going to include Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Henry Godwinn and Ultimate Warrior vs Goldust.

Buried Alive with Mankind, HIAC with HBK and Inferno with Taker vs Kane are a given since they were introduced at IYH for the first time.

There were A LOT of stinkers at IYH so picking out the best ones are going to be easy since majority at least one or two great matches…maybe they might put something like Undertaker vs. Mable and Yokozuna vs Vader.

Whats wrong with people in bashing WWE with repeats…you think WWE is actually catering to YOU hardcore collectors that buy every single WWE DVD in existence…NO. Accept it and move on.

Watch people here bitch and moan if they leave off Mankind vs. HBK, HIAC, Inferno, etc.

If you people are dead certain there will be repeats, by all means don’t buy it.

      • Anonymous says:

If there is too many repeats I’m not going to buy it. But I agree with the other Anonymous, why can’t they just put together nice video packages/short doc. pieces on some of the matches that they have released 5-10+ times. I’m not a ‘hardcore collector’ & buy every single WWE/wrestling DVD but I sure do have several of those popular ones mentioned. WWE doesn’t cater to the hardcore wrestling DVD collectors but they should cater to the general audience who purchase their product & I would appreciate a wider range of matches opposed to the same ‘Greatest Matches Ever’ according to WWE. But either way I’m excited to see how the IYH release turns out.

  24. JFR_WWfE79 says:

Kind of great synopsis but I think instead of “big 4” it should be “big 5”. As in the ’90s you have January for Royal Rumble, March/early April for WrestleMania, June for King of the Ring, August for SummerSlam and November for Survivor Series. That leaves the other months for the In Your House PPVs.

  25. Anonymous says:

Shouldn’t that be yearly staples? Not stables? Between this and the (not a) Hell in a Cell graphic in the Best of the PPV Matches 2012, maybe WWE should invest in a proofreader. That or start Wellness testing their synopsis writers and package designers.

  26. Steve213 says:

I’m excpecting a lot of repeats.. But honestly just give me the Fatal 4 way match and the Bret/Diesel Rage in the cage and I’ll buy it.

  27. Cold Stone says:

I can skip this IYH release as i already have them all on dvd with the Tagged Classics releases! There were some awesome matches on these ppv’s

  28. Supersonic says:

    Hope the following is included:

Shawn Michaels vs. Davey Boy Smith – May 1996
    HBK/Ahmed/Sid vs. Owen/Davey Boy/Vader – July 1996
Triple H vs. Steve Austin – October 1996
Bret Hart vs. Steve Austin vs. Vader vs. Undertaker – February 1997
Bret Hart vs. Steve Austin – April 1997
Vader vs. Ken Shamrock – May 1997
Great Sasuke vs. Taka Michinoku – July 1997
Undertaker vs. Vader – July 1997
    DX/Vega vs. Austin/Foley/Funk/Owen – February 1998
Edge vs. Owen Hart – September 1998
Rock vs. Mankind vs. Shamrock – September 1998
Steve Austin vs. Vince McMahon – February 1999

This gives NA the chance to have all the Attitude Era stuff unedited. Leave the Foley stuff for his upcoming set.

  29. Hollywood says:

Some Matches I want to see on the IYH set

    Diesel vs Sid Lumberjack Match

    Diesel vs Bulldog

    Bret vs Diesel Cage Match

    HBK vs Bulldog

HBK /Sid/ Ahmed vs Vader/Owen/ Bulldog

    Sid vs Bret

    HBK vs Shamrock

  30. NickP says:

    Awesome.. Long overdue

  31. Really like the sound of the In Your House set. Not sure how it could go wrong.

  32. lemo says:

Any chance all upcoming dvd’s will have the plain black side bars on them aka NWO set ? it’s all better that way !

    • some guy says:

Current plans are to replace the current still graphic wings with new video wings, with flashing advertisements for other DVDs! Awesome!

  33. neverAcquiesce says:

Always had great memories of In Your House, since they were far easier to convince my parents to order than the $30 events (though now I’d KILL for $30 events!). So long as the Final Four match is on here, uncensored, anything else will be gravy.

Oh, and there better be, at some point, that awesomely 90s In Your House theme…”We’re In Your House! We’re In Your House tonight!”

  34. Vincenzzzzzo says:

“Best of In Your House” is one of the main DVD releases I’m looking forward to during this year. So many great matches. I hope they load this DVD with exclusives and Blu-ray extras too.

  35. john rega says:

I will get this on blu-ray. I hope they put the Bret vs Davey Boy match but not remove the blood in this. IYH had some really good matches for telling more of the story in a fued. Can’t wait to re-live them.

  36. NoseyPosey says:

The Intro for best of raw and smackdown 2012 dvd/br is kickass 😀
I really like Raw’s theme, Smackdown theme sucks
    Looking forward to the blu-ray
Damn this website has been on fire with the updates and match listing, without you guys and me checking the website every single day i dont know what i be doing to get my wwe fix 😛

  37. RabidHeat says:

“the chance for fans to own the hit Pay-Per-View series?” Bad wording there, sounds like it’s a complete anthology or something, lol.

I’ve no need for this, already owning the Tagged Classics. One final thank you for that from me, my beloved Silver Vision! You will be missed 🙁

    • Daniel Bee says:

      Bad wording, or clever marketing…

    • Mark Markson says:

Yes, the Tagged Classics Silvervision did for IYH were awesome. I’m really happy I have all of them on DVD, even though there are some not so good shows among them.

    • LP1 says:

You’re right. It is bad wording. “Hit pay-per-view”? No. The first two years of IYH produced some of the lowest PPV buyrates in history. Definitely not a hit.

  38. SRB says:

I really think the IYH compilation could have endless possibilities, just like the KOTR set did, not saying that set was 100% fantastic, but I think it did pretty well. I think a lot of of the IYH matches are actually forgotten, at least by the new generation since there were only 28 events. IYH events always seemed very different to me too, as if they were just an extension of Raw. The main events were very different than what we get today including tons of tag matches and unlikely teams. Now that I think of it, they really remind me of Saturday Night’s Main Event just in the way the matches were set up and delivered. I think the set could be great if it actually has diversity to it. Don’t show me the same wrestler for 9 hours. There were great matches from that time period. Matches from Scott Hall, Bret Hart, HBK and Undertaker could show some rarities. I just don’t want the set to basically be another Austin compilation since IYH was the approximate time of his major push.

  39. Mark D says:

Who’s hoping for Todd Pettengill and Stephanie Wyant to host this one (and have the segments filmed in the ‘In Your House’ house they gave away on the first show). That’d be awesome! 😉

    • neverAcquiesce says:

I would lose my mind if Pettengill hosted this. He could even end the program with some video game tips.

  40. Steve G says:

Oh boy this set has repeats written all over it! Just release an anthology for god sake. So we will get the Hell in a Cell which has been released countless times; the inferno match which we don’t need, and god only knows how many other repeats.

    • Dave says:

So a “BEST OF” In Your House DVD should not include a 5* rated HIAC with HBK/Taker because its been released on other DVDs that you have?! Nice logic.

Yup, replace those “repeated” matches with HHH vs. Henry Godwinn, Mable vs Adam Bomb, HHH vs. Fatu, and Goldust vs Marty Jannetty. Those matches will certainly drive sales through the roof.

      • Steve G says:

Well while puppets like yourself continue to buy whatever WWE sells you we won’t ever get any unreleased material. No I don’t want those second rate matches but I also don’t want the same crap that has been released a million times. The first Hell in a Cell is already on the Hell in a Cell set and Michaels first set. Someone please explain to me why in the world we would need it replaced again. People like you are clearly the reason we get a million repeats. The good thing however is the fact that WWE has smartened up lately and has released most of there new releases with NEW CONTENT! Wow what a concept!

  41. t says:

    *sigh* Waiting for this. 🙂
