Digital Update – WWE Network vs. Classics, Stone Cold $3.99 Download

January 14, 2012 by Roger Palmer

Welcome to another “Digital Update” where we bring you all of the WWE & TNA digital download news from the past month in one handy place.

– In the past month, WWE have released Survivor Series 2011 which is available on the usual downloadable platforms such as Zune, iTunes, PSN and Vudu.com. Matches are priced at $1.99 (SD) / $2.99 (HD), headlined by The Rock & John Cena vs The Miz & R-Truth.

– WWE also released Best Pay Per View Matches 2011. Originally we hadn’t expected this title to be released in a digital format because all of the matches had been made available to download previously, but it has appeared on iTunes. It’s priced at $19.99 (SD) & $24.99 (HD) for the 14 matches that are included on the DVD edition. Downloading this as part of the package will save roughly 50 cents per match.

– As per the norm, both WWE Classics On Demand and WWE Greatest Matches have updated their services with new content.

– The theme of WWE Greatest Matches this month is “Viewers Choice” where fans voted on all of the videos they wanted to see, through the Facebook page a view months back.

– WWE Classics On Demand had been expected to start winding down on some networks with the news of the WWE Network launching in the spring, but since the Network has been delayed we expect WWE Classics On Demand to keep going until WWE Network launches.

– New episodes of WWE Smackdown & RAW have continued to be made available to download through the usual outlets.

– Stone Cold Steve Austin’s documentary is also available to rent now for just $3.99 which is a very easy recommendation to anyone who hasn’t seen it already.

– It was previously mentioned on the site, but just in case you missed it, Netflix has been updated with loads of re-released WWE DVD’s. Titles available to stream include:

* Batista – Walk Alone
* Tombstone- Best of the Undertaker
* Best of the WWE Championship
* The Spectualar Legacy of the AWA
* Shawn Michaels – Triumpth & Heartbreak
* The Roadwarriors
* The Rowdy Roddy Piper Story
* Hulk Hogan Anthology
* Ric Flair Collection
* Dusty Rhodes Story

– There hasn’t been any new TNA videos added to any platform in the past month. However, replays of the last PPV, Genesis, are still available through TNAondemand.com.

    WWE Classics On Demand is an awesome channel. I’ve had it about 2 years now. I really hope the WWE Network has the Legends of Wrestling roundtable discussions and the Monday Night War programs too, JFR_WWfE79. I love watching the WWE, WCW and ECW shows from that era….a great time to be a fan. I wish Classics On Demand stayed around even after the WWE Network launches, but that won’t happen.

    I just hope that we’ll get to see both versions of the Monday Night War (current episodes and The Beginning), on the WWE Network just like how they are currently on WWE Classics On Demand. Hope that the Legends of Wrestling roundtable show will also be brought to the WWE Network as well.
