WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes posted on Twitter this week (@DustyWWE) that he’s been doing “DVD work” for WWE lately, yesterday revealing that he will be hosting an upcoming release.
He is keeping quiet for now on what exactly that is, but the project that comes to mind immediately is The Best of War Games. Back in February of last year we heard first hand from WWE that this was a DVD under consideration so perhaps now is the right time.
Given that Dusty Rhodes is the host, we feel the feature is bound to be WCW themed, and we know WWE DVDs with this theme are consistently top sellers.
Aside from WCW, and going off WWE’s “intent to purchase” survey of last year, the only other two options that may loosely relate are,
– The Greatest Moments at Madison Square Garden,
– The Brutal History of the “I Quit” Match.

I agree with srb in that there should be a wcw.themed DVD out every year. Personally I’d like to see sets on the bash & Halloween havoc since we already have one on starrcade. Keep in mind that Wargames itself wasn’t a particular Pay-Per-View event, it was a special attraction that took place at different PPVs over the years (i.e. WrestleWar, Fall Brawl). I find it interesting that the match was also staged at some house shows along the way, one of which popped up on the Flair/Horsemen DVD. Who knows how many of those were actually filmed though? I do remember there was a big one at a house show in Chicago in the late 80’s, which I’d love to see.

War Games gets my vote as to what I think it’s going to be. But I’m surprised WWE is going with that (again if thats what it is) War Games, although popular was not as high on the list as Starrcade, Great American Bash or Halloween Havoc. I could see those sets coming out way before a War Games compilation. However, I remember War Games having some real classics. They need to put out 1 WCW themed release each year.

I used to think WWE would be better off doing the War Games as the main event of Survivor Series every year. Then I started thinking about having the Survivor Series main event in the Elimination Chamber was better. WWE will never do either one anyway, but it was good thoughts.
War Games makes sense, and I hope thats what ends up being released. I doubt it though. I like the WCW themed DVD’s. Hopfully they release another one in blu-ray form too.
i hope it’s the history of the u.s title dvd. long overdue. or the greatest superstars in wcw history.that will be cool.
At Nelson7… Dusty Rhodes actually was an nWo member. Joining at Souled Out 98 PPV, if I recall… And appearing in the corner of The Outsiders for some time after that.
I personally think they’d get Nash to host an nWo DVD, and get DDP back again to continue with the Nitro volumes. WarGames seems to make the most sense but we’ll see.

It could be the best of war game or maybe best of nitro volume 2? either way and wcw dvd would be great
I think wwe should bring back the wargames match with some tweaks:
1. Use the Hell in a Cell Cage instead of the two rings setup
2. Make it an elimination match like ROH variation
3. Use a New Wrestler every 3 minutes interval from the beginning instead of 2 wrestlers go at it for 5 then one each 2.

war games would be great to have on dvd quality then they really should do a box set. Then they really should do that I Quit DVD i would love to have all the I Quit Matches on DVD cause since they were only a few and they will probley never have another one in the ” PG Era”

Best of WARGAMES would be great! Maybe he will explain why they put Big Bubba in a body suit and mask as the War Machine after JJ Dillon got injured back in the first WG match. I mean, c’mon, were they fooling anyone?

Anything WCW is a win but I hope it is Wargames. Finally get the 1987 and 1992 matches on dvd.
