Edge Talks New WWE DVD on Aftermath Radio – Finished, Length, Matches

January 10, 2012 by Daniel Bee

Following WWE’s Hall of Fame announcement on Raw, Edge was interviewed last night on theScore’s Aftermath Radio with Arda Ocal and Jimmy Korderas.

Regarding his new WWE DVD/Blu-ray release (You Think You Know Me: The Story of Edge) he said production is already finished and he’s watched his advance copy, which he feels “pretty happy with”. He emphasised that an aim of his with the feature was to make sure certain topics were talked from his perspective for the first time.

In regards to the content of the set, he feels some elements of his career are somewhat scanned over but feels it’s to be expected when condensing down a 20 year career. A few times Edge talked about the feature being 2 hours, so one would assume the documentary is this length.

In regards to the matches, Edge revealed that he was completely hands on selecting them and that he found the task to be an extremely difficult one, given only 2 discs worth of space. WWE had a problem with his list of chosen matches because they found that none of the matches chosen were under 25 minutes, since Edge generally worked long matches throughout his career. In the end he went with a selection of matches that he felt best told the story of his career.

A bit of repeats are fine. Im sure will see matchs we havent seen/havent been released yet

  2. Afcchamp88 says:

I’m fine with repeats a little bit because old matches aren’t available in Blu-ray. I’m a bit less forgiving of BR repeats.

  3. Fer says:

there’ll be repeats from other sets but I don’t think there’ll be repeats from edge previous set that’s a low the wwe has fortunately not sink to yet

  4. NickP says:

Too bad we won’t get any Edge vs Benoit matches. They had some great Raw and PPV matches.. Hope we get Edge vs Brock Lesnar for the WWE title in 2002 or even Edge vs Big Show for the WWE title in 2002.. Those matches really made Edge look great and showed he can handle main events

  5. Stacey John says:

I can’t wait to see the part about the Matt-Edge-Lita if it is included, which it should and I hope they include some of his matches with Kurt Angle,RVD,John Cena,Undertaker,Dolph Ziggler but of course there is going to be repeats

  6. indyfan says:

    Translation: chalked full of repeats!!!

  7. Vincenzzzzzo says:

I’m glad WWE is putting that extra effort into the documentary portions of their DVD sets. I’m anticipating the Edge DVD/blu-ray set very much, can’t wait.

  8. Steve says:

dont have the previous edge collection so im sure ill pick this one up on bluray

  9. Mark D says:

You get the feeling this ones going to be about the documentary – not the matches.

Anyways, let’s hope for a few hidden gems amongst the final selection.

I’m hoping the Triangle Ladder Match from WrestleMania 16 doesn’t make it, as that ones been out about 10 times… in the last 2 years ๐Ÿ˜‰

  10. SRB says:

It’s obvious that WWE has a huge say in what matches make the final cut. I really doubt that Edge gets locked in a room and comes out an hour later with a piece of paper with the content. WWE is the producer and they are the final say. After reading that paragraph about the matches I am expecting some major repeats. Edge likely wanted most of his title matches on there, which is understandable. I hope we dont see the tag-team ladder matches for the 19th time on a set and yet again would his set be complete without them? not really.

  11. Brandon says:

I’m assuming we’ll get a few repeat matches from his last DVD. I can’t see him leaving out his TLC match with The Undertaker.
