Exclusive: WWE – Undertaker: The Streak – Pictures and News

June 30, 2012 by Mark D

After receiving our copy of “Undertaker: The Streak” earlier this week we can reveal some exclusive pictures and details about the set.

Firstly as a number of readers suggested when the cover art was revealed the DVD set does have a slip cover which unveils a picture of The Undertaker on the inside packaging; as you can see in the pictures below.

Additionally we can also confirm, despite the news that SilverVision’s release will be a standard 3 disc set – the US release is indeed a four disc set, as previously announced – view the full content here. The discs are made up like this:

  • Disc 1 – Documentary
  • Disc 2 – WrestleMania VII to X-Seven matches
  • Disc 3 – WrestleMania X8 to XXIV matches
  • Disc 4 – WrestleMania XXV to XXVIII

We can also confirm that the documentary on Disc 1 has a run time of approximately 40 minutes and is done mostly in ‘kayfabe’ with interviews from Superstars and footage from the matches (including film footage from WrestleMania X8 onwards). So given the length of the documentary its clear why SilverVision has opted to go for a standard 3 disc set.

Another thing of note from the documentary is; as speculated there is no interview footage with Undertaker regarding the matches and the Streak.

After watching a selection of the matches it appears the ‘Attitude era’ WrestleMania’s haven’t been “re-blurred” from their anthology releases in 2005. Also as expected “Rollin'” is not used as The Undertaker’s entrance theme for WrestleMania X-Seven plus the live performance has been edited from the WrestleMania XIX match.

Walk the dark and hallowed path of he who cannot be buried.

The Apocalyptic Warrior who has denied salvation to twenty souls to forge an eternal streak. The dynasty of The Deadman becomes immortal in Undertaker: The Streak. Hear the tales of Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Batista, Big Show, Randy Orton and other victims who have dared to stare across the ring into the cold eyes of The Phenom. From Undertaker’s WrestleMania VII debut vs. Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka to his agonizing war with Triple H, and the illustrious opponents in between, every chilling encounter is presented here from bell-to-bell.

What’s the name of that song on the end of the last episode from the first disc? And who is it by?

  2. jeff says:

Does anyone know off disk 1 close to the end the song that says you try to take me down you”ll never take me down .who its by or what the song is called

  3. nightmare says:

One more question about this please Mark D does the dvds include the blood that was during the matches because I remember that some of his WM matches were bloody like the first time he battle Triple H as the American Bad ass and other ones thanks again .

  4. nightmare says:

Ok thanks alot Mark D my Walmart is not getting this so I have to get it online that’s why I was asking

  5. mommy says:

    2 questions

-didn’t taker use kid rocks “american badass” as a theme, i thought it was that theme and not “rollin”

-what matches have they released already on dvd no counting the actual wrestlemania dvds, and on what sets

  6. nightmare says:

You know what I was thinking maybe this is the end of the Streak and that’s why they are release this I mean The undertaker will not be back in action form what I read until Nov which sucks because I figure he would be on the 1000 Raw episode .

But this does make sense if you think about it .I mean Mark is not the greatest shape anymore I just hope if they do this they will have him face maybe Chris Jericho that would be epic .

  7. nightmare says:

Also here is the trailer I found on youtube for this

  8. nightmare says:

Just wandering did they keep all the blood in these matches or were they edited I know some of his WM matches were bloody please let me know thanks alot .

  9. kwl says:

Just outta curiosity …..why is the “rolling” song not being on this set such a big deal for everybody??? If u like the song that much, just by the freaking CD already…..lol….wow

    • RabidHeat says:

Because it gives the set a lack of completeness and is akin to shameless re-writing of history.

  10. Anonymous says:

If there was ever a reason to pay for the rights to ‘Rollin’, it should have been for this Undertaker-specific set. This and the ridiculously short 40-minute documentary are the dealbreakers for me not to buy this set. I can understand making cuts all over the place on the Anthologies as there is so much action from so many hours of classic matches to take your mind off it, and it would have cost a bomb to pay for everybody’s themes in those sets, but really, to leave it off this set is stupid. So does he still ride to the ring at ‘Mania 17 set to the Ministry of Darkness theme as per the Anthology? If so that’s pathetic.

  11. nightmare says:

Thanks Mark D for the replay back I hope the blu ray does have it I keep checking back and see when you know thanks .My Walmart is not getting this so I will have to get it online or from somebody darn.

    • Mark D says:

No probs. Hopefully *fingerscrossed* we get our blu-ray copy pre-release. If we do you’ll see exclusive pics… right here on WWEDVDNews.com!. 🙂

  12. Aaron says:

I really want this blu ray but im thinkn i’ll wait until after WM 30 @ MSG. Taker still has to wrestle cena @ 29 and vince @ 30 Taker’s retirement match!

    • Darnell harris says:

you should know that undertaker the streak dvd would be incomplete if the undertaker go beyond 20-0 at wrestlemania so in my option i think that this is the last release on undertaker streak because taker already got two streak dvd one of them is the 15-0 an the one he got now is the 20-0 an if taker do go beyond 20-0 an go for 22-0 at wm30 an retire after that then their will not be another streak dvd to be release the wwe would probably put his wm29 an his wm30 matches on his new dvd that will have a documentary on undertaker career an with other matches on it

  13. nightmare says:

Could someone please answer my question I have several times please so I know

    • Mark D says:

We haven’t received a copy of the blu-ray yet so we cannot confirm that it comes with a slip case. In regard to the number of discs, the article does mention the blu-ray has three discs. I hope this helps.

    • Darnell harris says:

undertaker the streak on blu ray is going to be a 3 disc but i don’t know if it will have a slipcase maybe it will or maybe it will no

  14. Siege says:

Waste of money if you already have all the wrestlemanias.

I’ll just stream the doc when it’s on Netflix.

    • Darnell harris says:

what if i only got half of taker wrestlemania matches can i still get undertaker the streak dvd because right now i got undertaker wrestlemania 7 match to his wrestlemania 25 match

  15. YO says:

    This dvd will be great.

  16. I’ve seen better teases from women in strip clubs, or people on TV than you for not showing the inside of Undertaker: The Streak

  17. kwl says:

This will be a great release except for one thing, it’s the streak 20-0 but what happens when wrestlemania rolls around next year & takers streak goes to 21-0?? Thus, rendering this set automatically incomplete. Wwe should’ve waited till taker officially retires & then put this out so it’ll be complete. Just saying.

    • Anonymous says:

I think they’d be silly not to break the streak next year and just leave it at 20. It’s a nice round number, and where it should end. 🙂

  18. nightmare says:

Please let me know if the slipcase also comes on the blu ray I really hope it does and how many disc does the blu ray have

  19. Harry Faversham says:

When you say the matches are the same as for the anthology versions, they do have the sidebars right? Its a shame they did such a bad job on those anthologies because they’ve re-used them since and it hurts other releases too.

  20. mason says:

not getting this have all the manias since wm 17 then i also have the streak 15-0 so i have all the matches on dvd already

  21. nightmare says:

Please let me know if the slipcase also comes on the blu ray I really hope it does please thanks

  22. zach says:

show the inside art of the dvd!

  23. nightmare says:

I do want this because I don’t own any of the wm so this will be a great release I was wondering could someone please let me know if e blu ray also going to have the slip cover with it or it that just a dvd exclusive and how many disc is the blu ray thanks

  24. Eric says:

This release will be a huge seller to the casual audience, much like the 3-discs DX release from a few years ago.

There is no point of getting if you buy WM each and every year but, for the casual fan, it’s perfect.

  25. nightmare says:

Also how many disc is the blu ray version I know you said the dvd was 4 so what is the blu ray 3 disc or 2 thanks

  26. nightmare says:

Is the blu ray also going to have the slip cover with it or it that just a dvd exclusive please please let me know thanks

  27. Anonymous says:

I must say, the overall uniqueness of this cover easily makes it my favorite cover/packaging of all time. The only thing that would have made it better if the slip cover had a matte finish. This looks like a collectible DVD all on its own.

  28. Vlad says:

Can you guys also show the inside please?

  29. Anonymous says:

Can you guys also show the inside please?

  30. John31 says:

As a long time Undertaker fan I can’t pass on this, but the documentary should’ve been longer.

  31. Darnell harris says:

the reason why i am going to get undertaker the streak 4 disc dvd set is because i don’t have the undertaker wm26,wm27 an his wm28 matches that was release on others sets an also people should stop complaining about this dvd set if you already got all of taker wrestlemania matches from wm7 to wm28 then don’t make a comment on here this release is not for you it is for people that don’t have all of taker wrestlemania matches or if they don’t know who the undertaker is

    • SRB says:

“if you already got all of taker wrestlemania matches from wm7 to wm28 then don’t make a comment on here this release is not for you”

      hahahahahahaha

  32. yoshi says:

    i’ll pass

  33. SRB says:

Everyone who dislikes the release do not buy it then, no one is forcing you to do so. It’s your money, if you think it’s a waste then do not purchase it. Vince isn’t going to come to your house and give you a misplaced stunner on your dinner table. I personally will not be buying it because I own most of the footage already, but I can see how small children ages 10 and below will want this set since Undertaker shows up once a year and kids probably have no clue who he is. My younger brother who is 9 who has no idea who the Undertaker is will want this because he has collections of DVDs in his room and has absolutly no clue what he is watching. His favorite wrestler are John Chena and Kofi Johnston. This set will be perfect for him. This set is also perfect for children born in October 2007 and in January of this year. That’s who WWE is aiming this particular set towards. Can’t you people see that? But for all you Summerslam sweathogs keep the noise down while I take my robe off and show you all what a real man is suppossed to look like… hit my music!

  34. Steve says:

What a joke and waste of a release. They give us a great Clash set and ECW and then a lazy extreme rules and a kayfabe Undertaker documentary. They are so clueless it’s sad.

    • captain planet says:

They can only do so much with Undertaker without spoiling his eventual career bio. This makes sense to do – it’s a collection of all his matches commemorating his two decades of Wrestlemania wins, with a bonus bio. For anyone complaining about the double dipping of this set, 90% of people don’t actually “collect” WWE DVDs, and you’re not more entitled than others because you have a hardcore hobby (not directed at you Steve, I’m just putting that out there for those mentioning this).

  35. Jeff says:

I have this set in hand. Just watched the documentary. Anyone interested e- mail me @ jcruiser85@aol.com

  36. Anonymous says:

    No Rollin 🙁

  37. Scsa says:

Whats with the 3 / 4 Disc? Dont wr get a 4 disc in the UK? ;( What content do we miss? As well as the Blu-ray?!

    • Mark D says:

The UK/Europe won’t miss out on any of the content, as the documentary only runs 40 minutes SV have decided to add some of the matches onto disc 1.
The SilverVision set will look like this:
      Disc 1: Documentary & WM 7 – 14 matches
      Disc 2: WM 15 – 24 matches
      Disc 3: WM 25 – 28 matches

  38. It looks great but I have to say i’m pretty dissapointed there is only a 40 miniute documentary, if you can even call it that. I’m starting to doubt weither Taker’ will actually get a proper documentary for himself.

    • captain planet says:

He shouldn’t get one until he’s retired. We’re talking his last few years here – I’d much rather wait for one then than have them do something like Shawn’s DVD from 2007 when he retired only a few years later. This way, we’ll get his complete career and hear him talk in rare form about his life and experiences playing The Undertaker.

  39. JAF says:

When it says “from bell-to-bell”, does that mean that most entrances are skipped? Also, is “The Memory Remains” used for ‘Mania 28 & could you tell us a few of the superstars on the doc?

    • pmdmf says:

I wouldn’t worry about that too much. If they literally did it from bell to bell, it would be a short dvd. From bell to bell his Wrestlemania matches add up to 5:20:54 approximately (I got bored over a period of a few days).

  40. NickP says:

That packaging is really cool.. A glow in the dark version of this package would be cool too

  41. I already have all of his WrestleMania matches so the one thing I was looking forward to was the documentary. And now I see that it’s only 40 minutes long!!! Not good, WWE. You can add this to your list of thrown-together DVDs.

    • Dave says:

      Yet it will sell.

Wwe doesn’t care if you have all WM matches… If it makes money they will produce it.

  42. UKWWEFAN says:

Nice Packaging like the slipcase thingy, emm only 40 min documentary doesn’t sound good, Can you confirm if they blur out the wwf logo that they are allowed to use the pre 1998 logo e.g block logo from 94-98? wrestlemania 7-14? for the old matches pre-attitude era matches and are the matches in full with the complete entrances for the undertaker and the opponents? Thanks.
