Later this year we will see the release of ECW Unreleased Vol. 1, so this week’s fantasy concept will look at continuing WWE’s championship history series and taking it to the extreme with…
The History of the ECW Championship.
I think that this should follow the style of the previous championship history DVDs with the leather book style digipak. In terms of a host, obviously it should be hosted by Joey Styles who would provide background to the matches.

Does this proposed WWE DVD interest you? It’s great to hear your feedback, so please sound off in the comments below!
ECW title should have been done years ago… shame it ain’t happened yet! Tommy Dreamers reigns are the ones I look forward to the most!!! 🙂
Awesome set Just Double Jeopardy alone is worth it.
Great concept, looks great and would love to see this one on the shelves. 🙂 I hate they stopped this collection! 🙁
That Looks Freakin Awesome id buy that good job mark
Nice concept, Can I request you do a “Best of ECW on Sci-fi” from 2006 – 2010?
Would’ve liked to have seen a CM Punk vs. Johnny Nitro match or perhaps an extra – Kane vs Chavo from WrestleMania 24 LOL.
Great idea here and great content as usual. I really wish WWE would do this for all the titles. The US title, Womens title, tag titles and ECW titles all deserve sets just like the ones in the past. I think we can live without the Hardcore title though.
Tremendous idea! They really need to release this one soon. I agree with most of the matches but you’d really need Taz’s ECW title win against Douglas. Plus, I’m willing to bet WWE would want to include Steve Austin vs Mikey Whipwreck vs Sandman. I would drop Big Show vs Undertaker for Big Show vs Flair too. Beyond that, it’s awesome! I love the inclusion of Funk vs Sabu ’93 and Sabu vs Douglas ’93, these are some great early ECW title matches.
Hell. Yes.
Too much Sandman and Douglas back to back. You have to break it up a little.
Also the lack of Big Show vs. Flair and Taz vs. Douglas (where Taz finally won the belt) is disappointing.
Disc 3 should be Big Show vs. Flair and RVD; Morrison vs. Punk title change; and Swagger vs. Christian’s 3 matches with Christian’s awesome singles run on the actual ECW show.
Any better?

perfectly done…
There already is a real DVD set on this and it includes every ECW title match except for the WWE version. Highspots and RF video sell it and its like a 6 disc set. And all original music and no editing.
I like this set, but agree with a lot of other fans that the previous version of the ECW title should be on the cover. I personally would like to see this as well as the History of the US Title, the Tag Titles, and The Cruiserweight Title
Nice job. Definitely should have used the original ECW title for the cover though. Nicely done anyhow….as always. I don’t know why WWE hasn’t done a history of ECW and WCW title DVD sets. Its a no-brainer.
Technically they already covered the WCW Title on the History of the World Heavyweight Championship set. But I agree that they could have done a stand alone set for that title. Not to mention the rest of the WCW championships. I’m still praying for a History of the US Title set.
sounds interesting…but i think u should make a 2nd cover this time with the original ECW title on a more blood-stained black leather color…that would be totally KICK-@$$!!!
this is good but still some matches missing like henry winning the ecw title ecw championship scrambles from 08 and 09 but this is good
Much like Jamie, I love everything but the cover. That platinum belt is nothing but a reminder of how low Vince drove the ECW name. And considering the bulk of the matches are from the original ECW (and even more were for the original title belt), that belt should be gracing the cover. All that said… very nice job.
I love everything about it except the frontcover. The matches look eally good though! 🙂
Disc 3 is called “Resurrection” but doesn’t feature the Cena v. RVD match?
I was going to include it, but technically that match was for the WWE Title.
right but it’s the match that brought the ECW TITLE back to life
