WDN reader John Kerby sends word that Canadian retailers have been informed of a “Best of WWE in Canada” DVD due for release before the end of the year.

We would class this just as a rumor right now but consider it plausible for a budget release, exclusive to Canada. There have been no indications of a US or worldwide release.

I heard that there are matches from Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Toronto, London, Ottawa, Hamilton, Quebec city, Montreal, Halifax, Nova Scotia and interviews with Canadian WWE wrestlers such as Edge, Christian, Brett Hart, Santino, Roddy Pipper, Trish Stratus and more

  2. RCS1988 says:

Probably a lot of matches from Maple Leaf Gardens, Copps Coliseum, & the London Gardens.

  3. Lawrence says:

The “Best of the WWE in Canada” almost sounds like an attempt by WWE to say “we know we gave you a scaled down version of WWE Network which costs more than the full U.S. version, but here’s a DVD so shut up.”

    • Vincenzzzzzo says:

WWE Network didn’t have much content on the US version either when it first launched. Over time more and more content will be added. Sit back and relax. Stop bitching and whining just because its the cool thing to do.

      • David says:

I live in Canada and from what i read from others that have the Network, its a complete joke compared to the US. At least when it launched in the US you guys had over 400 ppvs, RAW, SD, Main Event, NXT, ECW, WCCW, etc. on VOD.

The Canadian VOD is an insult and quite honestly surprised Rogers and WWE could launch this with a straight face and on top of that charging 11.99/month. There are only about 12 ppvs; 3-4 are WCW, about 3 ECW and the only WWE ppvs available are several Summerslams…thats it. There is no Legends House, no NXT, no WM rewind, no Countdown, NOTHING.

Only thing people could really do is if they have a PVR cable box they could just record the programs airing on the live channel, which is the exact same as the live schedule on the US stream but that would fill up the hard drive quickly. Or using a DVD Recorder you can record directly to DVD. Thats probably the only upside for people, but its still stripped down version compared to the US.

I’m actually glad i kept my US subscription and unblock-us. I knew we would get shafted somehow on the Network over here.

        • Vincenzzzzzo says:

Yeah I heard about this. I’m surprised they don’t even have NXT on there. I’m sure it’ll take a few weeks to get all that stuff added though. I don’t see why they would leave it like that for long.

  4. Nicolas Hébert says:

WWE in Canada!!! OMG!!! I’m from the Province of Quebec and they have many memorable moments from the Molson/Bell Centre like the Survivor Series 1997 or the night after Wrestlemania X-8 for RAW with the unbelivable ovation for Hulk Hogan and the debut of Brock Lesnar. It will be a must buy for me if these are on the set!!!

    • TheManInBlu says:

Same here! I’m from Montreal so this is SWEET!! maybe it’s a sign WWE is testing the Canadian market and considering having some PPVs in Canada again and hopefully here in Montreal. The last one we had was in September 2009, Breaking Point, which was less than stellar…

  5. TheManInBlu says:

Woo hoo!!! Bring on the WWE in Canada set!! Finally us Canucks are going to get some recognition from the WWE! I’ll be getting this for sure no matter what’s on it \m/
