*on DVD onlyWe would like to thank you for your continued support and hope you enjoy www.wwedvd.co.uk, the new home for WWE DVD and Blu-ray!
Fremantlemedia has a terrible phone line access, silvervision was always available to take your calls, they were friendly and helpful when you needed them. This new site is so shit I will be using amazon from now on. Never coming here again
Will they accept PayPal payments? It’s the only way for me to purchase things online…
will they be region free? or region locked?
Don’t know yet…but the new distributor have a track record for releasing region free DVDs and Blu-rays. But in this case i doubt it since they’re specified within the UK, Middle East and Africa. They wouldn’t be allowed to have region free media since it would violate their agreement. Same with North America which have WWE DVDs locked to region 1 and Blu-rays locked to region A.
If they’re was one distributor for all continents (like Warner and Fox for example) then we would likely see region free Blu-rays…but DVDs would still be in PAL format. PAL/NTSC don’t exist with HD and Blu-rays.
looking good hope they will be as interactive as sv have been uk wwe fans have a sense of relief
Blu-Rays! Hell yes!!
Hopefully they will have next day delivery like Silver Vision.
I always got them on the release date and sometimes even a day or two earlier with SilverVision 😉
Will the blu rays be region free?
That’s the million dollar question.
I have a question. I apologize in advance for asking this in the wrong place, but if I asked it in the right one it would never get answered. My question is: how do I access the exclusives on the Top 50 Finishers DVD? I am absolutely certain that I bought this at Best Buy and it is the DVD. I can’t find it anywhere. I’m hoping to get this answered tonight. Really appreciate it!
I read that I had to preorder to get the exclusives. Is this true?
An article about that here – http://www.wwedvdnews.com/?p=26299/
I don’t see it on disc 3. Is there a certain way I am supposed to access this?
OK I *finally* found it! Thank you Daniel, love the site!
Based on the DVD artwork on the new website, it looks like Fremantle won’t splatter their name and logo all over the covers like SilverVision did. Now it looks more like the North American releases. That’s a definite plus.
So the new distributor won’t be allowed to continue the Tagged Classics, correct? I would assume they could since they’re continuing the Live in the UK series.
Essentially they could not do the tagged classics releases because Silver Vision was re-releasing the titles it previously released allowing them to release unedited material. However, with WWE now being able to use the WWF material WWE themselves can now in theory release any archive material they wanted to. Perhaps this is a reason that WWE ended the relationship in that they simply don’t need them anymore. I would think using the name ‘tagged classics’ might be a bit dodgy but there were actually American releases called ‘Tagged Classics’ so it is a possibility. Fremantle will have a nicely unblurred range of DVDs.
I’m relieved. I think I’ll be able to get the Bret unreleased set now.
i hope they will have free shipping as SV had! it was a great deal for me because i live outside UK so the shipping cost would be fatal!
Sweet, not only do we get a website, and continue the PPV Blu Rays (Wew’re gonna have 2012 completely in Blu afterall!), but they’re continuing the Live in the UK sets!
I wonder if they’ll use the same artwork design for the UK sets or a new one…
Top Raw Moments and Best of PPVs 2012 on my birthday wish list 🙂
Looks to me like Fremantle have looked at certain aspects of what SilverVision did that worked, and have gone a similar route by having a site solely for WWE DVDs. That’s good news.
Still wondering whether they’re gonna produce the past PPVs also.
“This website will offer both new release and back catalogue titles on DVD and Blu-ray.”
I’d imagine it would be the most recent releases, but you never know…
Just a nitpick but why is it there’s such a big gap between Hell In a Cell and Survivor Series. And then TLC is released just 2 weeks afterwards. Are they going to release a PPV every month? Or 2 of them every second month?
I’d imagine they are bringing out Night Of Champions and HIAC quickly cos they should’ve been out in the UK by now so they wanna get them out the way quickly.
That’s what I also thought about at first. Because normally NOC gets released in December and HIAC gets released in January as far as Europe is concerned. Bit then I saw that Survivor Series and TLC will also get released close to each other and it got me wondering. We’ll see I guess.
Was looking into Fremantle and they have released Blu-rays and DVDs region free…hopefully they make those for WWE, but i doubt it.
I doubt it because they are only suppose to serve their specific region/market. I don’t think Vince would like that.
I agree – given that the US blurays are region locked, I cannot see the situation here being any different.
Looks to be a 2-3 month delay between the UK and US release dates – hope that shortens up as don’t really want to wait until May for the Nitro II bluray.
Really glad to see they’re continuing to release all the PPVs on BD and they’re going to keep doing the Live In The UK sets those were the only two thing I bought from SV everything else I import.
Will Night of champions 2012 Hell in a cell 2012 be released on blu ray?
Yup, its says all those except Live in the UK – November 2012 will be on Blu-ray.
Get in.
Hope they follow the same pricing structure for new release as Silvervision. Although wouldn’t mind seeing the blu ray sets drop below £20.
