  1. Christian Robinson says:

Um I agree, Johnny Polo and Scotty Flamingo might be played by Scott Levy, but they are two entirely different characters. And Scott Levy is in my top five favorite wrestlers. That typo needs to be fixed immediately.

  2. Jason says:

Not impressed really.. the match listing could be better. Why did they skip from may 1999 to March 2002?…. yea too much

  3. Roland Smitts says:

Anyone else notice several Hogan matches included here? Awesome to see WWE letting go of that silly stance they had.

  4. John says:

There is a lot of repeats but I will get this anyway, there is some matches that I do not have, I am happy that Diamond Dallas Page finally got his own set, it is long overdue!

  5. jonathan says:

Yawn. Definitely not worth $30, DDP had a good 2 years run but not to the point of getting his own dvd. I’m happy he’s getting inducted into the HOF however, great guy.

  6. Thunder Guy says:

WWE or if anyone from the company reads this. Make a BEST of Thunder Blu Ray/DVD because I will and I bet a lot of others will purchase this.

    • whutwhut says:

I would disagree with the assumption that “a lot of others” would buy such a set.

as fun as Thunder sometimes was, it was much more the “b-show” than Smackdown ever was. and I believe that this would still be present in people’s mind.

    • jonathan says:

I doubt it would be a hit, Thunder was a C show at best where most matches were meaningless or just plain boring. The show was mostly about showing what happened on Nitro and big stars cutting promos.

They need to release a best of Saturday Night, that would be much better because for a few years it was WCW’s main show.

      • Mark Markson says:

Yes! Best of WCW Saturday Night would indeed be awesome. Thunder was pretty bad, and so was WCW in the the era when Thunder debuted.

  7. RabidHeat says:

I hope somebody at WWE Home Video reads this board and notices what we’re saying about the “Johnny Flamingo” error before it goes to print.

    • Ryan says:

Will u get over that already? You sound like you’re losing sleep over a small typo.

      • LP1 says:

They wrote the wrong name of the guy in the match. Not a small typo. If they wrote “The Gladiator” instead of “The Undertaker”, would you say it’s no big deal?

        • Ryan says:

You’re comparing Raven when he was a lower card talent to someone like Undertaker? LMAO.

Nobody even remembers who scotty flamingo is, more or less johnny polo in this day and age!

          • LP1 says:

Completely missing the point. It’s not about comparing the two wrestlers, it’s about doing your job right. They pay someone to put these listings together.

            • Ryan says:

You’re literally losing sleep over a name they got wrong that nobody remembers. Unbelievable!!!

              • RabidHeat says:

Nobody said they were losing sleep, and certainly not “literally”. Do you know any “literally” means? And it’s not wrong to not want a typo on the final product, which was the purpose of my message. And you know what, I’m entitled to comment with my opinion without being told to “get over it”. Why do people on here try to make things so unpleasant and a big argument?

      • whutwhut says:

I can of get his point though. stuff like that seems to scream carelessness.

  8. mememememe says:

Can we get the runtimes for discs 2 and 3? As best I can tell they at most 2 hours 45 minutes which would only add up to about 6 hours 30 minutes or so total for 3 discs.

It still seems like something is missing here but that is what I thought about The True Story of the Royal Rumble and as it turned out there wasn’t.

  9. mememememe says:

Why does disc one only have the one hour documentary? What is preventing them from putting more on there. That’s valuable space they are not using.

    • Ruthless.Attitude.Eras.4Life says:

It is actually “filled” to the max, if you compare it to releases like The Streak (39 minutes for disc 1) or Rock vs Cena: “Once” in a Life time ( 45 minutes).

One of the reasons why I pay a few extra for the bluray, if it is possible..DVD versions are for many reasons a joke.. they could easily at least have put the extras stories on disc 1 and then put a few more matches on disc 2.

      • mememememe says:

Why dont they put the stories on disc 1 and more matches on disc 2? Don’t they even listen to us? We get exclusive information this site they have to know we aren’t happy. These sets aren’t cheap.

      • Ryan says:

1 hr and 8 mins on disc one is not what I’d call filled to the max. One DVD disc has 3 hrs roughly. The bonus stories easily could’ve been put on disc one to cover fill up more time.

        • Ruthless.Attitude.Eras.4Life says:

It was a sarcastic acknowledged comment to memememe, hence the “filled” written like that.

And if you read the whole comment I made, I stated that compared to the Undertaker release, and the Rock vs. Cena release, this one actually is “filled” to the max, comparing to them.

    • Drew P Balls says:

The BluRay has 22 minutes of extra “stories” so its more like an hour and a half but yeah they really do rush through the documentary portion. The entire yoga thing is literally the last 5 minutes of the documentary. I think its a tactic to get you to spend more money on the bluray for the “exclusive” stories

  10. Mark Markson says:

The good: A lot of the blu-ray exclusive matches I don’t have in my collection already.
The bad: A lot of repeats, and the documentary is too short.

  11. mememememe says:

This could have been a lot better. All of the unreleased content is well before the boom period. No rare TV matches like I wanted. I will still get it, but I just feel that if this came out 5-10 years ago it would have been a bigger deal. Much of this has already been shown.

    • whutwhut says:

I feel this is kind of a “damned if they do, damned if they don’t” situation.

for example, I remember the discussions regarding the “Attitude Era” compilations in which at least some people were mentioning they were disappointed because many of the biggest matches of that era (like the Rock vs. Austin WMX7 match) weren’t included.

but that/these match(es) had been released countless times before. at this point the line up for a release like this tries to cater to both the collector’s that already own dozens of other dvds/blurays but also the “casuals” that if most only own very few other releases (and would be upset if (some of) the most important fights/moments of the career wouldn’t be on there).

  12. RCS1988 says:

•DDP Tryout Reel is most likely footage of his 1990 WWF announcing tryouts, wish they showed them in full, but seeing highlights is ok I guess.

  13. Ruthless.Attitude.Eras.4Life says:

Johnny Flamingo: Delete! Delete! Scotty Polo: Obsolete! Obsolete!

the revealing of the Stalker (hint: it is *not* Barry Windham 😉 )

  14. D.P. says:

Well of course they’re are going to be some repeats on here cause DDP was at his prime during that Nitro/Monday Night War era which WWE has released so many sets on so anyone should have expected that going in or else we would have little to nothing left for a decent match listing when your missing most of his main events & title wins & marquee matches. Now saying that, they could have easily replaced some matches with some unreleased with the same opponent like the Starrcade match against Guerrero with their Havoc match 2 months earlier or the Sting match on Nitro that’s been on at least two sets which the other one they had a year earlier that was only on one. I personally would have replaced the Jericho match with his Bowery Death Match with Raven maybe as a Blu-Ray extra or his WWE Tag Title win with Kaynon but speaking of WWE I’m glad they didn’t put any matches of him during the Invasion angle on here because that’s not anything to remember & such a downfall.

  15. mike says:

Ice Train just might be the coolest (pun intended) wrestler name ever. When do we get the Ice Train DVD??? I’m buying DDP Blu-Ray version just for that!

  16. ryan says:

Because of so many repeats I’ll wait for the price drop two weeks after its release. Im more about matches than documetaries so the repeats really hurt. Still looking forward to having a few matches I don’t have yet. Ww3 vs bret being one of them.

    • Straightedge47 says:

      Which matches are repeats?

      • Quinn says:

        • diamond exchange vs brian lee & chris sullivan
        • ddp vs mark starr
        • ddp vs chris jericho
        • ddp & karl malone vs hogan & rodman
        • ddp & jay leno vs hogan & bischoff
        • ddp vs goldberg
        • ddp vs bret hart (wcw nitro)
        • ddp vs sting
        • ddp & bigelow vs raven & saturn
        • ddp vs jeff jarrett

  17. Ryan Johansson says:

Wish they would have included a couple more WWE matches. Why not the Inaugural Brawl or his European Title win? Also should have included a couple from WCW Thunder so there would be a few less repeats. I know Thunder was not the best show but surely they could have found a couple matches to use:

    • Indyfan says:

There’s a lot if gems from Thunder. Not just from DDP, but from the rest of the roster as well.

      • Ryan Johansson says:

I know. I liked Thunder. I just think it gets a bad rep because most of the top guys didn’t appear all that often so people just dismiss it as a “B” show but I liked that other guys were able to get more TV time and put on some good matches. And since Thunder isn’t on the WWE Network I wish they would do a “Best of Thunder” DVD set.

  18. Patrick Mcnamara says:

I totally want the Blu ray release. Awesome. Applause. Applause. The dvd is enough, but the blu ray is too good too pass up. Looking forward to March now. Only a couple months away from this great blu ray release being added to my collection. Thank you WWE. Much appreciation.

  19. Indyfan says:

As expected…many repeats. At this point with how many of his matches are featured on other comps, it would be hard to include just un released matches. I can forgive that. But the Jericho match….

It’s to bad about the Benoit issue. He had great classics with him. Not to mention the Jersey triad matches.

I’ll get it to support DDP and I want the match vs Badd.

The set suffers from being released way too late.

  20. Jammer says:

Definite Blu Ray purchase for me!! Looking forward to this set. I know there are plenty of repeats, but for a DDP set, this is dead on for having so many of his big matches on it!

  21. Ricardo Aguilera says:

Awesome can’t wait to get my but I wish three matches were here diamond Dallas page vs ric flair strap match Halloween havoc 1999 diamond Dallas page vs sting nitro 1998 and diamond Dallas page vs buff bagwell last man standing match souled out 2000 that was a pretty good match

    • Chico says:

The match with Sting is on “The Best of WCW Nitro – Vol. 2”. And besides, the one with on Nitro in 1999 was a slightly better match.

  22. LP1 says:

It’s “Scotty” Flamingo, not “Johnny” Flamingo. The monkeys on the production team strike again.

  23. Alex Murray says:

Finally great to own the world war 3 98 and starrcade 98 matches.I’ll have to get this for those 2 matches and the documentary.how long is the documentary?

  24. Mike says:

I will wait until this hits the inevitable $5.00 sale. I was never a big DDP fan

  25. Brad Attitude says:

It looks like I’m going to pass on this.
