It’s the veritable definition of “high risk, high reward” in sports entertainment—a rich reward hangs high above the ring and a superstar must climb a ladder to win the match and retrieve the prize. But the falls from the ladders can be devastating, and the punishment one can inflict when using the cold steel ladders as weapons can be brutal. The first Ladder Match DVD in 2007 was one of the biggest-selling DVDs in WWE History, and now the Ladder Match is back with an all-new collection of memorable bouts from WWE, WCW, ECW, and more in The Ladder Match 2: Crash & Burn.

  1. KarlKayfabian says:

Love both volumes of the Ladder Match, but disappointed that neither the Dusty vs Tully from GAB ‘87 or Goldberg vs Hall from Souled Out were not included on either release.

  2. Dennis winship says:

I like this dvd i want it someday. Dennis winship Lynn Massachusetts

  3. James says:

I ordered this DVD and I like the match listing. I have the first set and I like that they included the WrestleMania 10 match.

  4. @williamwwe says:

this set is worth getting for just 4 raw matches that have never been releas on dvd before, they are:
Ladder Match to Unify the Intercontinental & European Championships
Rob Van Dam vs. Jeff Hardy
    Raw 22nd July, 2002

Ladder Match for the Intercontinental Championship
    Christian vs. Rob Van Dam
    Raw 29th September, 2003

Ladder Match for the WWE Tag Team Championship
Edge & Christian vs. The Hardy Boyz
    Raw 25th September, 2000

Ladder Match for the Intercontinental Championship
    Jeff Hardy vs. Carlito
    Raw 10th December, 2007

    period.

  5. natedogg says:

The two ECW SyFy matches are on the 2 disk Extreme Rules ECW DVD that was released a long time ago. Most of the other matches people are wondering about Razor vs. HBK from Summer Slam and Hardy vs. Taker are on the first ladder match DVD. I do wonder why RVD vs. Hardy from Summer Slam isnt on there and the MITB’s from 22, 24 and 26 and the Smackdown MITB arent there

  6. Isrs4life says:

Wasn’t Johnny Nitro vs. Jeff Hardy on the 1st set?
Man, this is a clusterf*** dvd set. I’m sticking with
the first one which I ordered through WWEShop on thanksgiving day.

Never before released matches, my a$s… Excuse my laguage this
is the worst dvd set made in quite sometime.

  7. Parick Dykes says:

im happy about the match list because the first one had more choices and this one had ones that werent on the first one and from after 2006
some of the matches are on other dvds but there are still awesome

  8. LP1 says:

Actually I forgot about 1 other ladder match. The Kurt Angle Invitational from SmackDown in March 2005. He fought some jobber in a ladder match and beat him in like 2 minutes. It was the build-up to Angle’s match with HBK at Mania 21. That match has never been released on DVD either and nor should it be since it was really just an angle more than a match.

  9. LP1 says:

If you look at this Ladder Match 2 DVD strictly from a WWE perspective, both The Ladder Match Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 DVD’s will have pretty much all of the WWF/WWE ladder matches on both sets. There aren’t many WWE ladder matches left for a 3rd Volume. The only ladder matches that aren’t on either Vol. 1 or Vol. 2 are:

-WrestleMania 2000: The Dudley Boyz vs The Hardy Boyz vs Edge & Christian

-SummerSlam 2001: Jeff Hardy vs Rob Van Dam

-ECW on Sci-Fi: Rob Van Dam vs Sabu

-ECW on Sci-Fi: Rob Van Dam vs Big Show

-SummerSlam 2009: Jeff Hardy vs CM Punk

    -TLC 2009: Jeri-Show vs DX

-TLC 2010: Kane vs Edge vs Rey Mysterio vs Alberto Del Rio

-Money In The Bank from Mania 22, 24, 26 and the SmackDown MITB from 2010 and both MITB matches from 2011. And that’s it.

All of those matches I just listed are already available on other DVD’s except the RVD vs Show ladder match. That’s the only ladder match that hasn’t been released on DVD yet. So if you already have The Ladder Match Volume 1 and you also pick up this Volume, then you would have pretty much the majority of all ladder matches in WWE history. I wouldn’t expect a 3rd Volume because most of the matches would have to be non-WWE matches in order to fill out the set and WWE usually doesn’t release sets like that.

  10. Isrs4life says:

I’ll accually wait for this to be on Classics on Demand sense
it looks to be in the order of segment discussion from Striker or something and only tape Disks 1&2 and ignore disk 3.

  11. Isrs4life says:

Disks 1&2 are fine looking to me, but I fine Disk 3 is very weak.
I know there is a few double sh*t from other dvds and that Michaels and Roman match just had to be on there i’m sure this is like the 15 dvd set it’s been on:(

  12. Steven says:

I wanted the Money in the Bank match from Mania 23 and it’s on the this dvd great because it was probably the best MIB match, but too bad WWE didn’t give Mr. Anderson… Kennedy a better push after he won the MIB match.

  13. Mama Shango says:

    ignorance is not an excuse.

  14. straightedge47 says:

None of Benoit’s full matches were on the Nitro dvd but he was featured. The ending of a tag match involving him was shown where the nWo came out attacked him and sprayed their initials on Benoit’s back. He was also in a segment with the Four Horsemen where he was mentioned and visible throughout. He even had his own entrance on that segment

  15. LP1 says:

As for the Nitro release, I’m not sure what you’re talking about because none of his matches are on there.

  16. LP1 says:

@Mama Shango, Benoit was included on the Elimination Chamber anthology because they couldn’t edit him out of the match he was in or else it wouldn’t have been a “complete anthology”. It’s the same reason why his matches are included on ppv anthologies(Mania, SummerSlam, etc.) because the shows wouldn’t be “complete anthologies” without his match. Compilation DVD’s are a completely different matter. The WWE can pick and choose which matches they include on those. Anthologies need to be complete.

Now if WWE made a DVD set called the Complete Ladder Match Anthology, then you would have a case to argue that Benoit’s matches should be on there.

  17. Mama Shango says:

@LP1: Let me ask you this, did or didn’t WWE ad Chris Benoit in their elimination chamber anthology of the latest WCW Nitro dvd releases??

  18. Nick Arndt says:

People need to do what I do when a compilation DVD like this is released.Go thru your PPV DVD collection, see what duplicates you have & possibly sell those DVD’s.Some stores like fye will give you store credit towards the purchase of “WWE Ladder Match 2:Crash & Burn” in exchange for your gently used older WWE DVDs.

  19. Nick Arndt says:

While there are some pleasant surprises on here, how many times are they gonna release some of these on DVD like the WrestleMania X match & the MitB ladder matches

  20. LP1 says:

@Mama Shango, I agree with you, but again I ask, did you really think WWE would include any Benoit match on this DVD or any other DVD for that matter? Unless there’s been a change to the Benoit edict that I’m not aware of.

  21. Mama Shango says:

@LP1: Any Benoit match would have been a improvement to the current disaster the match listing has become.

  22. Kub says:

Interesting they put a match from OVW on here. Thats a first. This listing looks ok, seen alot. But why cant we put a Stairway to Hell match on here? Those are ladder matches

  23. LP1 says:

@Mama Shango, you really were expecting WWE to include Benoit matches on this set? Really?!

  24. Mama Shango says:

disappointed no Chris Benoit ladder matches made this set. No wonder this listing sucks camel balls.

  25. Matt says:

I expected repeats, I have about half these matches on other sets. However, its hard to think of any matches I’d rather have (aside from the Dreamer/Credible matches) than the ones presented here. Most of the ones I don’t have are ones that I’ve wanted. Especially happy about Eddie & Tajiri vs Team Angle.

  26. Anonymous says:

I think they should focus on releasing DVDs on things that havent been covered yet.

  27. Jack says:

I might hire or borrow this off a friend if any will purchase it but i sure as hell ain’t buying it. The match can’t compare to the first Ladder Match DVD.

  28. Brad Attitude says:

Yep, WWE did the inevitable and killed the match listing as I knew they would. Its nice to see matches like Team Angle vs. Eddie Guerrero & RVD vs. Christian but the majority of the other matches are either crap or double dipped … The ladder matches from WCW added were crap or short and there’s no ECW stuff … I would have preferred to see Money in the Bank from WM22 or WM24 over WM25 & MITB 2010 (which both were boring)!

    Not purchasing this garbage!

  29. Anonymous says:

The fact that there’s no ECW just pisses me off. We need to educate the kids who don’t know about Old School ‘rasslin!! STOP PUTTING THE SAME MATCHES WWE!! WE WANT ECW!!!!!!!

  30. John says:

    Pretty good listing!

To X: They did not add the CM Punk-Jeff Hardy match because the match is on Greatest 21st Century Superstars and Best of Pay Per View 2009-2010 Blu-ray

  31. bitw says:

I’m not the biggest Ladder Match fan (the genre peaked with Jericho/Benoit RR’01 IMO) but even still this set is garbage.

There were some crazy Stairway To Hell matches from the original ECW that really should have been on there. And Goldberg v Scott Hall from Souled Out ’99 is a great match that people (myself included) would have loved to see on DVD/BR. Lazy, lazy, lazy. I thought 2010 was bad but this is THE worst WWE DVD year ever. The Shawn/Bret and SCSA sets had better be AMAZING to save the dog that is 2011.

To any and all @ WWE, next year TRY HARDER!!!

  32. Anonymous says:

The Summerslam match was on the first one.

  33. SRB says:

Regarding the repeats, i own almost every WWE DVD that I can get my hands on but im 50/50 on the whole thing. I understand that having at least some repeats is completely all part of the game, but i shouldnt already own 75% of the matches. The inclusion of putting matches from Raw and SD was a great idea and I’m glad they do this. Having good, classic matches are important. I do agree that HBK/Razor is on many sets and maybe the SS rematch should be there instead. Either way, it’s hard to please everyone and it’s hard to make these sets in the first place. I’d hardly call BBM/Mankind a classic, but im glad its on there.

  34. CJ says:

I guess people don’t realize it’s hard finding GOOD matches in the WWE library to put on releases that haven’t been released before.

  35. Anonymous says:

Personally, I would say it would be more stupid to have 2 3 disc sets on ladder matches and Wrestlemania X not be on either of them. Only my opinion.

  36. Me says:

The Blu-ray extras really sum up why WWE Blu-ray’s aren’t selling at the moment. Given that there are very few WWE Blu-ray releases it surprises me that they still somehow manage to overlap the same matches over and over again. 50% of the extras are also on the Best of PPV Blu-ray.

  37. Vincenzzzzzo says:

you people that complain here are like little fucking girls. I had to say it, because someone has to.

  38. Steven says:

Glad they have the Money in the Bank match from Wrestlemania 23 and the Syxx vs Eddie Gurrerro match on this set, I never knew the old ECW had ladder matches, I thought the old ECW was all about hardcore matches and stuff like that. Everyone knows who the last company standing WWE. Hated to see WCW to do down but it was time, Russo ran that place in the ground.

  39. Anonymous says:

Anybody know how good the Smothers-Candido and Lea-Phoenix matches are? Rare stuff like that is an attention-grabber, although I agree with those who feel that some of the old ECW ones should’ve made the cut.

  40. Mark Markson says:

I have most of these matches on DVD already. 🙁 To include the WM X match here, is really stupid. It is available on so many DVD sets already. I’d wish the blu-ray extras were some more exclusive matches.

  41. Bryan says:

Hardy vs Taker is on the first Ladder Match set disc 2

  42. Anonymous says:

Whatever happened to Undertaker vs. Jeff Hardy on RAW back in 2002??

  43. Anonymous says:

I mean REAL ECW. Not WWECW.

  44. Isrs4life says:

How many F’n excuse my language times do they need to have
Shawn Michaels vs. Razor Ramon on a god dam WWE 3-Disk DVD Set
huh? wasn’t it on the last ladder match set?

  45. LP1 says:

@Bryan, I know some people don’t like the sidebars on the older matches, but if you’re watching it on an HDTV then you should be able to adjust the screen and remove the sidebars with no problem. Every HDTV has that ability.

  46. Anonymous says:

it was 2006 when rvd vs sabu took place which can be found on the ecw extreme rules dvd.

  47. Bryan says:

Thanks LP1 I know for the older matches on the Blu Rays they have the side bars so I’m hoping disc 2 on this release will be all full HD content (in other words for the Blu Ray disc 1 would be discs 1 and 2 from the DVD set, and disc 2 would be disc 3 from the DVD set)

  48. m;blier says:

i think there was a ladder match in the ecw 2006 or 2007 between rvd and sabu.they skipped that one if i remember correctly.

  49. Anonymous says:

I Wanted To See DX vs Chris Jericho,Big Show And Edge vs Alberto Del Rio vs Kane vs Rey Mysterio When Edge Won His Final World Title. But All And All Still A Good Set That I Will Get.

  50. Cody says:

This set has 21 matches on it & I own 14 of those matches that is not a good thing they say ecw matches are going to be on here, but yet no matches from ecw are found wwe really should have went for something else to put out when most of the best ladder matches have already been put out on the first set I won’t be getting this set no time soon.

  51. Anonymous says:

    No ECW? yawn.. i’ll pass.

  52. Anonymous says:

WHERE IS DREAMER/CREDIBLE?? WHERE IS CORINO/CREDIBLE/SANDMAN?? WHERE IS THE ECW MATCHES THAT WERE ADVERTISED?????

  53. Anonymous says:

an all-new collection of memorable bouts from WWE, WCW, ””””ECW””””””’. WAY TO FUCKING FALSE ADVERTISE WWE. WAY TO GO. FUCK THIS SET.

  54. LP1 says:

@Bryan, any WWE matches from January 2008 forward are all in HD, but you can only see them in HD on the Blu-ray release. The DVD releases are not in HD.

  55. champo says:

The blu ray extras are not worth the extra money

  56. Bryan says:

Will all the stuff on disc 3 (the 2008 and on matches) all be in HD or just the Blu Ray extras in HD?

  57. Bryan says:

Christian vs RVD from Raw in Chicago sold! that match is awesome

  58. Michael says:

Mankind vs. Big Boss Man for the Hardcore Title, totally forgot about that one.

  59. TripleN says:

Nice match selections but WWE forgot about Hall/Goldberg and Dreamer/Credible.

  60. LP1 says:

I guess plans for a Money In The Bank DVD are out the window.

  61. Anonymous says:

Well, I’m surprised people still think Shawn Michaels vs. Razor Ramon was the first wwe ladder match even though the Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels match from 1992 is on the first ladder match dvd and is even being released on DVD again in October. It always annoyed me how they always lied about that. But then again I had that on a VHS and probably didnt realise it was a video exclusive at the time.

As far as this match selection goes it doesn’t really interest me personally. Its pretty much just a DVD of ladder matches that arent as good as the first DVD. So I think they should have just released something else in its place.

  62. Andrew says:

Just an awesome set again from wwe.

  63. straightedge47 says:

It sucks that I own over half(11) of these matches already on dvd. Will probably end up getting this eventually though, for those 2 or 3 matches I really want to see again.

  64. David says:

Not bad…too bad no orginal ECW Stairway to Hell matches, specifically both Dreamer vs. Credible from Guilty As Charged 1999 and Heatwave 2000. Surprised about the OVW match, never expected that.

  65. Matt says:

Uninterested due to the same matches being reused on newer dvd’s. I’m with Joe on this, dissappointment in WWE not paying better attention to there selection in matches. Then 3 dics i can combine into 1 dvd due to some of the matches i havent seen before or for the blu ray combine it into 1 disc.

  66. Daniel says:

Wow! Another one to add to the Xmas list.

  67. Anonymous says:

it sucks that they left off goldberg vs scott hall from souled out 99, but still a good match selection.i’ll still buy it when it comes out.

  68. X says:

good selection. maybe I would have add Jeff Hardy vs. CM Punk or Jeff Hardy vs. Johnny Nitro, but this is great. most, if not all the original TLC matches are already on the first Ladder DVD. there’s not much else they can add

  69. Joe says:

I think it’s a great DVD, but I have 7 of those matches on other DVDs, so I’ll probably pass.

  70. SRB says:

When they advertise that ECW is on the set they really should put OLD ECW stuff on there. I know that Funk, Sandman and many others were involved in some amazing ladder matches. From the matches on this set i personally only own about 3 or 4 of them, so at least i am not getting duplicates. However, as far as content is concerned nothing on the set was a classic and there are few things to get excited about here. I am soemone who hates having repeats (Although its just part of the game) so im glad for that, but “uninspiring” is probably the best word for it. The content on the Ladder Match 1 set is far superior to that of this one. I will for sure be picking this up and out of the content i would say disc 3 is your strongest set of matches. If im not mistaken its funny to see matches like 3 Count/Jung Dragons and Edge & Christian/The Hardy Boyz on the previous set and on this one as well, just in different matches. Im still glad I stopped buying WWE PPV’s otherwise the amount of duplicate matches would be overwhelming.

  71. Actually looks a lot better than I first expected, Katie Lea vs Beth should be an “Interesting” watch to say the least, I can see this being just as entertaining than Volume #1 Due to the fact it actually includes the first WWE Ladder match and not just highlights!

  72. Mark D says:

Yeah a few surprises nice to see the Divas Ladder Match from OVW, The Hardys/E&C match from the first Raw on TNN, Miz/King TLC Match and JoMo/Sheamus in HD. Sure there are a few repeats but it could have been much… much worse.

  73. Steve says:

digging this match listing. especially the bluray extras. will be a must buy on blu-ray for me

  74. Alan says:

Pretty uninspiring in my opinion. The inclusion of Michaels/Ramon is outrageous, quite frankly. The only matches worth watching (other than HBK/Y2J) will be fucked up by the blurring issues. The inclusion of Foley/Bossman and Miz/Lawler is really scraping the barrel (yes, I watched the former recently).

  75. K-mac says:

Not bad…nice to see Smoky Mountain and even OVW on there.
But I guess when they say ECW, they mean WWECW…
