I just picked up survivor series 2003 at fye and it has the hhh vs Goldberg match on there. Its just cool to see Goldberg in wwe. Period.
ANYONE that complains about this set is out of their minds! This match selection on this set is excellent! Excellent choices all the way around. My all-time favorite Goldberg match was when he defeated Hogan for the WHC at the Georgia Dome. That match still gives me goose bumps every time I watch it. I taped every Nitro, and this is the greatest single match in Nitro history by far!
What? No Goldberg vs Gillberg match??? That’s no good!
I guess I’ll have to wait for the 3 disc Gillberg Ultimate Collection to come out!
A blu-Ray Buy for me 🙂
I remember one event, I can’t remember if it was a Nitro, a Thunder, a PPV or a WCW Saturday Night but I remember Steve McMichael coming out to the ring with a lead pipe in his hand, he dropped the pipe when he got into the ring, got on a microphone and told the guys in the truck to show Goldberg in the back, They show Goldberg and he was laid out unconscious on the floor. Then they cut back to the ring and Tony Schiavone says something about a Super Bowl ring on Mongo’s finger. Anyone knows what I am talking about?
it was at World War 3 1997
I have to say… pleaseantly surprised at how this one turned out… but it looks to probably be at least in my all-time top 7 favorite match compilations… boo-yah!
All of the sudden ppl are claiming they don’t like Goldberg … but when he came out he was so completely over… what’s to hate about him? He’s awesome. Hard hitting smash mouth. He is definitely the all time best powerhouse.
This set looks amazing but I’m gonna pass on it and pick up the Triple H and Legends of Mid South Wrestling bluray sets.
I also like how so many people said a Goldberg set would suck and now they’re giving it so much love and praise after the match listing has been revealed. Such marks!
@Erik G: You keep saying you wanna see a bunch of Goldberg squash matches, man just let it go. Nobody will buy a dvd set filled with a dozen squash matches. WWE wont make much money if they’re gonna produce a set like that. It’ll totally be a waste of time and effort. Move on, brother!
WOW. what a dvd, can’t wait to pick this set up.
Yeah Alva, being so insecure about your sexuality that you are afraid to buy a video set about a male wrestler is extremely macho.
People complaining about Goldberg not having good matches are missing the point. Something like what Goldberg did will never happen again. For a rookie to win 173 matches in a row and win the World Title like he did was unprecedented. It was a sight to behold and that’s why you are buying this set. Not for “workrate” or anything like that.
Personally, the only complaint I have is that there isn’t a bunch of squash matches from the streak but it is a minor point. All of the big matches are here. I’d even rather have those squashes over the few WCW PPV matches that were missed (the ladder match vs Hall and the two PPV matches vs Saturn and Luger). Still holding out hope for store exclusive DVD and/or Blu-Ray exclusives!
hell yea i am getting this birthday gift for me 😀 if your not a fan dont get it stop bitching on here about oh i am not a goldberg fan of or wwe dvds if i get them i am gay so i am just gonna get trish or lita LOL anyway wished they could of got a bio even a 45 mintue one like the starcade one was but this good enough alot of good matches his wwe carrer ehhh they picked some good ones sucks he left on a bad note aka wm 20 but hey HE WON! so all that matters so i guess last thing i got to say is DVD STORES NATIONWIDE ! YOUR NEXT!!! XD 😀
a lot of goldberg its kind of weird. im a macho kind of guy and will have a problem buying this. i will never buy a dvd compilation of one wrestler. kind of gay. i will buy trish stratus dvd lol..
I totally agree with you. I was going to get the Randy Orton, CM Punk, Macho Man and Bret Hart sets and then I thought, “Man, I’m such a queer if I buy these.” So, I got Lita “It Just Feels Right.” I feel so much better now.
Yeah and when I first bought Wrestlemania 2 on VHS ALL of the matches were from Wrestlemania 2. My family weren’t cool with it at first, but they accept me for who I am.
I just got back from the store and bought some yellow workout pants that said “Hey sailor!” on the butt. My dad beat me for about 45 minutes and then made me watch UFC. I just punched a woman in the face and feel pretty good about myself. I love being macho!
Please no hitting in the face! Think of Shawn Michaels and Rick Martel at Wembley. The way those UFC guys spend the WHOLE match in that same cage makes me think they must be holding some sort of jones for that cage. Its such a shame they have to suffer in silence. I did so much soul searching after buying the War Games DVD that I had to go for a long walk. I ended up in a bar full of rough men drinking beer and burping. What does this all mean? If I stop buying DVDs altogether will this make me more of a tough guy? I’ve just put my Best of Pantera CD in the bin, I realised its kind of a gay thing to have a CD of songs all by the same band. I kicked a squirrel and put a nun in the sharpshooter. Seemed like a good place to start?? How can I be more MACHO? Please help!
What Id like to have right now is for all you fat, insecure, Minnesota Macho men to keep the noise down while I take my robe off and show your ladies what a real man looks like. Hit my music!
@ Alva: To quote comedian Ron White: “The next time you have a thought…let it go.”
I’d imagine they’ll use footage from his Raw debut on Making His Way to WWE.
WWE did a good job with this one. I’ll pick it up at some point.
Wish it included a few extras like his raw debut, and when he speared Gillberg during the rocks concert. But it’s still a first day buy for me.
That is one awesome set! I still wish it included his Raw debut, though. Will definitely pick up the Blu-Ray
I’m not the biggest Goldberg fan like most and personally didn’t get the hype. But, this set is a great chronology and career spanning collection from someone who was a huge figure in the game for a long time. Although his skills were limited and his gimmick has been beaten to death, the set itself will do a great job showing his impact. Can’t wait for this one.
I agree…wasn’t too much of a Goldberg during the 90s but he was certainly WCW’s biggest homegrown star and made a huge impact. Was watching some old Nitro, Thunder and WCW PPVs and he was massively over with the crowd, just amazing to see.
Was skeptical on this set when it was announced but they really did a good job putting this together.
There’s a few complaints about what is missing, which I expected, but I wasn’t into WCW until after they closed. It was WWE all the way since the late 80s for me. I can respect WCW at this point and the work they did and the stars they built. Goldberg was a huge draw, but from never really watching WCW as I found it boring, I certainly can’t say what’s missing since the product was stale from the start from my view. But, the legacy of it is a whole different story.
Me too. I wasn’t a WCW fan either, but since they closed I do appreciate their contributions to pro wrestling, and a lot of their product was good. A lot of mis-managed wrestling stars, but good nonetheless.
nice, i will be picking this up for sure. 🙂
