Full Content: WWE Raw 20th Anniversary DVD Box Set – 20 Episodes & Extras

October 2, 2013 by Daniel Bee

Let’s find out the full list of 20 “greatest episodes” planned for the WWE Raw 20th Anniversary Collection DVD box set!

Of the 11 Raw episodes previously revealed here at WrestlingDVDNews.com, 8 of them have made the final cut. A reason why they are not all present might be due to original plans for exclusive content on the Blu-ray edition, which was recently cancelled in the US and Australia.

  1. Josh Fowler says:

Torrenting this box set now. Definitely not worth the 65.00 asking price

  2. steven ervin says:

I was happy till i seen x-pac only 3 matches. Wont buy it now aint worth no 60 dollers to me i love x-pac if he was on more matches would buy right now this makes me sick ill save money garbage.

  3. Spritz1999 says:

Not really interested in much after Disc 8… kind of disappointed there will be no exclusives! 🙁 Oh well…. here is to hoping I can get the Blu-Ray Set from UK or CA! 😛

  4. Lawrence says:

I was hoping the RAW hosted by Bob Barker would be on this set.

  5. Put it right in my ass! says:

After Disk 8 it falls apart Im sad about this one skip! i wish wwe would just realized that most people have netflix have all the seasons on there that would be sweet

  6. Marty says:

Don’t get me wrong, I’m still getting this set, but already I’m wondering how unedited it’ll be. For instance, the WCW purchase RAW starts off with the Lumberjack match according to the chapter listings, but sharp minds (and research, go to slashwrestling.com, look under RAW) will remember that the show started with a Kurt Angle promo involving Chris Benoit, basically setting up their Mania match and six-man tag later in the show. So far, that’s the only thing I’ve noticed, but still.

  7. Jake E says:

8 out of 20 episodes really intrigue me but instead of paying lots of money you can just get them for free on youtube, dailymotion, sports2watch or/and watchwrestling.net. So I don’t know whether to get it or not if they brought out more volumes I would buy it to try and complete certain years full episodes. No 2000 episodes is another reason why I am thinking maybe no.

  8. Da Beast says:

Yes! Yes! Yes! We get the greatest match of all time… Melina vs Alicia Fox for the Divas title at MSG!!!

  9. tu says:

I would like to have Shawn dressed up as Taker (1998), DX searching Taker (1998), Shawn doing jumping jacks with stuffed trunks in JR’s face (unedited) and Mankind trying to burn Taker with a torch.
And that Bret – Sid cage match with Bret snapping at Vince unedited.

  10. Damon says:

I’m so pissed the Bret Hart vs. Sid cage match episode is not on there when Bret snapped at Vince during the post match interview… That Damn thing is impossible to find on disc where it’s unedited…

  11. Pablo says:

Yes! It’s has 2009 footage, the year I started watching wwe. And it has the triple threat match for the WHC Edge vs Jeff hardy vs cm punk! BUYS FOR ME!!

  12. Electrifying Man says:

    THIS SET SUCKS PG’S BALLS!

and no bluray?! f*ck this sh*t!

  13. Steven Jackson says:

Looks an interesting set, but to be honest all the matches I have wanted to watch from RAW have either been released on other sets already or I have re-watched them on youtube. It’s a nice idea this set, but it feel somewhat of a let down. That being said though the 1996-1998 episodes intrigue me.

    • Steven Jackson says:

Oh and they missed off the 2004 Draft Lottery episode which I think was one of the best episodes of RAW ever. =/

  14. Steve says:

Man why does WWE constantly let us down. This s a pretty good release but as per usual they don’t go above and beyond to make it great.
    1. No Blu Ray!- It’s almost 2014 and 60″ TV’s are fairly cheap in the grand scheme. Can’t wait to watch compressed DVD’s that will look like crap on my HDTV.
    2. Episodes- How do we not get the Invasion 2001 ECW episode? But hey don’t worry because we have the god awful pipe bomb episode.
    3. No Year 2000 or 2002 RAW- So glad we have Raw’s from 2010, 2011, & 2012 which mostly sucked instead of something from 2000. If it’s a Benoit issue he is on the Homecoming episode after all. I know it would be a pipe dream but one of the best Raw’s was when the Radicalz defected. But god knows we can never move on from the Benoit issue and realize that what happens on WWE programming ISN’T REAL!
At the end of the day WWE will win because I buy every set but come on already.

    • David says:

I agree with what you have said. I’m actually surprised the “pipebomb” episode is in…other than the Punk segment everything else was pretty awful.

Was hoping an episode or two from 2000 and 2002 – the one i thought from 2000 that was really good was 03/20 from Chicago with the Wrestlemania Triple Threat taking place – HHH vs. Rock vs. Big Show. Linda comes out and announces a Fatal 4 way at Wrestlemania

The first draft show from 2002 should have been on too.

    • dude says:

I really wish they would just MOVE ON from that guy who murdered his wife and kid. I mean, c’mon… it’s 2013! I for one can’t watch his matches without feeling weird anymore.

      • AJ says:

I actually can’t watch his matches either. Where’s the question Benoit “fans” need to ask themselves and be real…is anybody not buying a DVD because it doesn’t have a Benoit match? I would say no. Shawn Michaels is my favorite ever and if the WWE released a DVD without him, I would still buy. Now, the other question is…would there a group of people who would not buy a DVD with Benoit prominently featured? Yes, I think there would be.

        • Anonymous says:

I wish they finally ease up on Benoit and start allowing his footage into complete shows on Classics on Demand, as well as in DVD releases. I don’t think that’s asking too much. Pulling him out of complete shows renders those shows completely pointless and I can’t watch them knowing something significant is missing. If I can’t watch them, I’m not buying.

        • HD says:

If a DVD is being released where a Benoit match is to be “expected” using common sense (HBK Mr. WM for instance), I will definitely not buy it if they exclude Benoit.

  15. Mr Disc says:

I laugh at those hoping for a Vol 2 set next year. Would that not defeat the purpose of a 20th Anniversary set? lol

    • David says:

Yeah, if they wanted to continue with volumes they would have left off the “20th Anniversary” part and just go by WWE RAW: The 20 Greatest Episodes Uncut & Unedited.

But you never know, maybe if the RAW set sells well they will find a way to continue…possibly even doing a SD set with 20 greatest episodes.

  16. Anderson J. says:

I’m sorry, but I honestly cant see how anyone can complain about this at all. Isn’t this the type of thing we are always asking for? 12 discs…full episodes of RAW, Chris Benoit (in two matches!). Seriously…I usually try not to sound bitter or like my opinion is better then anyone else – which it’s not, but I’m excited just to watch these episodes in full, good & bad and being able to see matches I already own on DVD in context is great! There are a few episodes I certainly would have liked to see & episodes I could have really lived w/ out but it’s pretty much perfect just for the amount of content we get as fans!

    • Marty says:

I’m with you, man. I realize not every episode is everyone’s cup of tea, but to me, it’s all about the whole rather than the sum of the parts. To me, this is the release of the year, partly because no one saw a release like this coming. I’m still finding it hard to believe. To some degree, I think they’re crazy doing this with the decline of physical media, but I have no complaints, especially when I get my copy. Hoping this sells not too badly; it may restore their faith in box sets again.

  17. Phillup says:

I know we just got the full episode on blu-ray last year, but I’m really shocked that Raw 1000 wasn’t included. If this is supposed to represent the 20 best episodes of Raw then yes there are some definite glaring omissions.

  18. john says:

wish the had the raw after the most recent mania

  19. Justin F says:

It’s a shame they put in more post-attitude shows. Like seriously, do I really want to watch another Raw show from 2010 again? 2011? 2012?

  20. Nicolas Hébert says:

At whick episode (and date please) RAW turns to one-hour show to two-hour show?

  21. Mike Abitabile says:

The weird part about the July 21, 1997 episode being on there is that WWE Classics on Demand skipped it when it came time to air it a few years ago as they air the Raws in chronological order. Not that it means anything, I just find it strange lol.

  22. isrs4life says:

Ahh, they skipped the year 2000… That year had so many great moments!

  23. rocky245 says:

Why so negative on the march 3rd 97 episode I love the bulldog vs owen match and I think the look of the episode makes it unique to all over raws. It was one of the episodes I hoped would make the list so I am happy. All I want now is for a uk blu ray release

    • Harry Faversham says:

Bulldog vs. Owen is without a doubt one of the greatest matches in the history of Raw, so its no surprise to me that it was included. But I can understand that some people would rather see episodes where the main highlight had not been seen on DVD as much. I don’t judge the quality of the show by how many light they had on to be honest. I think its a good example of their global expansion at the time. It was a great time in wrestling. I never enjoyed wrestling in 2000 as much. The McMahon heavy storylines didn’t really appeal to me. 1997 was easily my favourite year.Just my opinion.

    • VICK says:

I agree.. I am looking forward to that Raw. It was a weird episode no doubt, but it was unique and I remember enjoying the wrestling a lot.

  24. Sick Rick says:

Still cannot believe Melina vs Alicia Fox made it on there. I think Naomi will be happy now

    • Dan M says:

It was Cameron that said that on Tough Enough, if you’re gonna take a jab at someone make sure you’re doing it towards the right person.

  25. Jake E says:

They need to make a Raw: The best episodes collection vol.2 and 3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 etc. Plus what Ryan said about 2000 being excluded because of Benoit if it is true that is annoughing if they have to in the future do uncut/unedited episodes don’t just edit Benoit out and give us the fantastic episodes.

  26. ryan says:

interesting that 2000 was excluded. i also see that benoit gets buried in two six man tags. i figured they wouldnt choose any episodes with a one on one match.

  27. Megan says:

I wish they could have put one 2013 episode on there, that being the Raw after Mania 29, but I guess it doesn’t fit in with the 20th anniversary theme 🙁 But otherwise I am so amped for this set! It better be released in NZ, sometimes we get left out of these things :/

  28. WWEFan2013 says:

No Draft 2002? No March 17th 1997 RAW were Bret snaps? Not a single episode from the greatest year in RAW history (2000)

Oh and March 3rd RAW? hahahahaha that episode was supposed to be a house show at first and was horribly produced. “Pipebomb” episode was terrible too until that moment which I own already about 3 times.

Might give this a miss now. Next year they should do another set and release and call it “RAW episodes collection Vol 2” with those 3 episodes mentioned at the start.

  29. WWEFan2013 says:

Hmmm I don’t know what to think about this now. Some episodes are good choices but

March 3rd 1997 WTF! Was that an error or something because that episode wasn’t that good at all. (That was that weird episode that was supposed to be a house show at first or something?

Uhhh the “pipebomb” episode was awful until that moment which I own I think 3 times already now.

No March 17th 1997 (Bret snapping) Draft 2002 or any 2000 episodes is the biggest crime of this set. There has to be a volume 2 next year.

  30. KEES says:

NO RAWS FROM THE INVASION!?!?!?!?! WOW STUPID, BUT STILL IM GONNA BUY IT

    • Eric says:

Yeah, I was hoping for a couple of them, too. I was hoping for the Raw where Austin joined Team WWE (Only to turn on them at the Invasion PPV) I was also hoping for a Raw in Oct of 2002 that I saw in person. But, I am totally buying this and I am very excited to have it

  31. Harry Faversham says:

I was hoping for the Raw before Wrestlemania 13. That was incredible. I might get this if its on blu ray in the UK, otherwise probably not. I do see quite a few gems in there I’d like to have (Owen Hart vs. Brian Pillman, Bret vs. Vince contract signing etc), but I’m not sure if I can justify it for the price yet. If it was blu ray they’d probably have me with this.

  32. TNAJason says:

No Sid vs Hart Cage Match w/Hart-McMahon thing after,or the entire unedited segment of “This is Your Life” for The Rock. Those 2 are my biggest frets.

    • Harry Faversham says:

Yes! That’s the match I’d most like to see get released I think. That or Shawn Michaels vs. Rob Van Dam. Not this time eh. Still, some good stuff there.

    • TNAJason says:

Another fret is the Jesse Ventura Guest Hosting episode from 2009 where Ventura & McMahon commentated the Battle Royal for the TLC PPV WWE Title Shot. But thats because Vince doesn’t wanna pay Ventura to release that episode.

  33. Shane says:

Why isn’t the 2002 draft on here?

  34. legendhitter93 says:

A bit disappointing no episodes from 2000 or 2002. Was also hoping for at least a couple more episodes from 98.

  35. John Peterson says:

Hopefully they will release at least one box set a year.Decent list

  36. ZJ says:

No episodes from 2000 or 2002? WEAK.

  37. John says:

Nice to see a bunch of Owen Hart matches on it! Will buy!

  38. anonymous says:

Weird list. Only 3 episodes that somewhat interest me. In fact, I could have lived without them. DISAPPOINTING.

  39. Adam says:

Is there any word on if these will be released digitally? Specifically on iTunes?

  40. Simon says:

There’s about 12 episodes on there that I’d like, so it’s still a buy for me. Slightly surprised that there’s a full 3.5 hour gap between episodes one and two – especially as you’d have thought the 45-minute episodes would be easier to slip in. Absolutely zero interest in the 3/3/97 episode – never should’ve made the cut.

    • David says:

Yeah, 3/3/1997 RAW was pretty bad….Bulldog vs. Owen was a good match though but that is on RAW 15th Anniversary.

They should put 3/10 (Debut of RAW is WAR) or even the week after with Sid vs. Bret Hart Cage match with Bret and Vince’s heated confrontation.

    • Simon says:

Just to clarify, my initial post was supposed to say a 3.5 YEAR gap between episodes one and two.

  41. Mongoose Wizard says:

I said it before and ill say it once again there needs to be at least two more sets with this release! That would be 60 RAWs but oh we’ll :/ but will admit that’s a pretty good selection but Mark D had some better ones on his predictions 🙂

  42. Paul says:

So is it 100% confirmed that the Blu-ray is cancelled???

  43. Jamyn Blanton says:

Looks great can’t wait until December 3rd

  44. Justin Greeder says:

    Melina vs. Alicia Fox!!!!!!!!!!!

  45. LP1 says:

Interesting that the 20th Anniversary episode isn’t on there since this whole set is being released because of Raw turning 20.

As for the list, there’s a lot of really good episodes and some duds as well. The only 3 episodes I personally would’ve liked to have seen added are Raw from the night after Mania 14, the first Draft 2002(I thought for sure that will be a guarantee) and the original Old School episode from 2010.

  46. David says:

Set looks good…so it seems that the RAW with Bret’s Return was a Blu-ray exclusive. Sucks that we will be getting downscaled 1080i to 480i for 6 shows actually filmed in HD.

For people that don’t know, downscaled HD to DVD looks like absolute crap on an HDTV. Its not meant to be put on DVD.

    • Dennis says:

Which makes them cancelling the Blu-ray release make even less sense. & the 3/3/97 show was the one in Europe that had the bad lighting that drew a crap rating. What a weird list..

  47. Vincenzzzzzo says:

Looks like a good set. RAW Championship Friday from ’96, HomeComing, 15th Anniversary which I went to live and finally have on DVD, 2008 King of the Ring, and the ones from 1997 make this a good set to have. I would have liked to have this on Blu-ray of course.

  48. j says:

Looks like a f*cking awesome set EPIC

  49. The Grease says:

I will buy this for Raw July 21, 1997 alone! Highest rated Raw of 97.

  50. Jake E says:

In the UK do we still get extra episodes on our Blu-Ray version?

  51. Mr Disc says:

Looking back through the list again i think it goes downhill from Disc 9

  52. Issue is, the majority of the episodes on there are there for specific moments, which nearly all of have been released already. There is A LOT of crap on there.

  53. Jake E says:

So they put a rubbish 2011 and 2012 raw show but not any from 2000 (my fav year). I hope they bring out more full shows (every episode from 1997-2009).

  54. Mr Disc says:

All of the backstage skits and interviews from those episodes are obviously included. They just don’t have time to list every single segment from each episode.

  55. Mr Disc says:

This list will not suit everyone but my only complaint is that they should’ve kept all episodes before 2009 as they’ve released a Best of Raw set every year sinse. Plus i would’ve liked more Attitude Era episodes in full. But i will still purchase this set as it has at least 10 episodes on it that i wanted to be included. Just a shame us in the UK have to wait until mid January for the release.

  56. Charlie says:

Seems like a lot of good stuff. Disappointed that the Blu Ray was canceled.

  57. AJ says:

Some really good episodes. I guess the Jan. 4th episode isn’t there, but the WM26 contract signing is there. The DX invasion and the very first RAW are missing. Not upset about those missing episodes. We’ve seen the DX invasion a million times. I know the Pipe Bomb Promo is a top 5 RAW moment, but it’s a terrible episode of RAW. I didn’t see the danceoff with Kozlov. It’s either not listed or they cut it.

  58. Joe Israel says:

I was hoping for a few more standard episodes as opposed to so many specialty episodes, which don’t always feel much like a normal Raw from that era.

  59. Nick says:

So much filler. Big PASS for me.
