  1. Jimmy says:

I for one think edge and cena need their own blu ray about their rivalry it was one of the most intense rivalries of the modern era, the whole reason 2006 was an amazing year for wwe

  2. Jeff Rittenour says:

This set was TERRIBLE. I refuse to watch trips down memory lane hosted by blond bimbo know-nothings who weren’t even fetus’ at the time. As soon as the host appeared I lost all interest in this set. The Hogan Savage part with a blase CM PUNK trashing Hogan for that pathetic, bitter old, out-of-touch douchebag Vince McMahon was just SAD. Maybe if he’d been talking AS Cm Punk and not PHIL – I could accepted it but having these new WWE ‘superstars’ speaking like they truly don’t give a shit and are there just for the eventual residuals is pathetic. Avoid this cheap, twisted set like the plague. A Real stinker. Best of Nitro Vol 2 blew this one away – that was an enjoyable set (and better than the first).

  3. Jeff Rittenour says:

Ummm…where’s Piper vs Mr. T if anything? Piper STILL (and even though I love roddy it’s rather pathetic) hates him 30 years later! lol How is Piper vs hogan at 21? That’s pretty much the whole reason there IS a wwe… Top 3 should be austin mchmahon, bret shawn (although that ones more ‘real life’ than wrestling lol) and hogan andre…

  4. Duece the natural says:

No Sting rivalries whatsoever? Sting Vs Nwo defined wcw period!

    • Jeff Rittenour says:

gotta agree – but hogan probably had too many spots and Sting is TNA, no sense cuttin him a check if they don’t have to lol

  5. 80$ruler says:

U all don’t know shiznyyeeeee this is an awesome dcs and they can bank on these older feuds pre attitude era randy vs cena should b on here years from now #oldschooliscool and u all are nucking futs wwf4lyfe housedathoganbuilt n hbk renovated and cm punk now rules!!!! 434 days best in the world I live in my moms basement don’t judge me ok judge me cmon u wankers!!!@#$%%

  6. Ojo says:

    Sting/Flair? Sting/Vader? Sting/Hogan? DDP/Raven?

  7. Nathan says:

Am I the only one who thinks Flair/Hogan should be on there?

    • Daniel Almeida says:

I agree with you, but Hogan was a bastard and never allowed Flair to beat him, thats why WWE ignored their rivalry

      • Jeff Rittenour says:

hogan and flair had no rivalry… the only thing they did together was the wm 7 press conference. That’s it. Piper had a rivalry with flair not Hogan.

  8. Scsa says:

I think they could hav put some better matches on there, like Taker Vs Michaels at their Casket match or their first Hell in a cell n make a seprate Rock vs Austin dvd/blu-ray al-together!

  9. Mac says:

What a joke…again! Some WWE DVDs really are awesome, but others are just laughable like this one. Soo many feuds left off and you gotta love what they chose as the number 1 feud, pathetic.

  10. Kayla says:

The fact that Randy/Cena isn’t on here is kinda disappointing.. I mean it was what… A three year rivalry? Come on.

    • Jeff Rittenour says:

Cena/Angle was a better rivalry. Probably cena’s bets matches were with kurt… and kurt was right, cena should have been chasing HIM for the belt not vice verse. Dumbass, out of touch Vince. lol

  11. Loopy says:

The list is okay, but they should of put more on it like sting vs ric flair, nwo vs wcw, Jerry lawler vs Andy Kaufman, Bret hart vs Owen hart, and so on.

  12. SledgeHammer1999 says:

Ummm, I agree that Vince vs. Stone Cold is in the top 3, but it’s #3… #2 is Triple H vs. The Rock, and #1 is Stone Cold vs. The Rock? I also don’t agree on a lot of the other placements on the list, and some of these could have been replaced with better ones? Ummm, I’ll pick it up used on Amazon.

  13. Colin.V says:

I’m skipping this one, very lousy effort by WWE.

  14. Mongoose Wizard says:

I’ll be looking for this set when it’s 5 dollers or less because its not worth that big price…

  15. Stinger says:

All the content they have and they still F it up….Sammartino vs Zbysko, Kaufman Vs Lawler, Steamboat/Youngblood Vs Kernodle/Slaughter.. How can you miss those??

  16. Marty McFly says:

Looks like another great WWE DVD

I only have one problem with the list.

Where is Lawler vs Kaufman. Without a question, that has to be a top 15 rivalry. I hope WWE gets the rights to the Memphis tapes so we can have some better DVDs.

  17. indyfan says:

What total crap!! At least i can save 30.00. I also don’t get he whole some matches haven’t been released in some time . Those old sets are like 5.00 on amazon.

  18. Brian Kraemer says:

How can you have a Top 25 rivalries set with only 13 matches on DVD; 16 on blu Ray? Shouldn’t it have atleast 25??

    • Val says:

Yea, good luck making that work. How about an iron man anthology on 3 discs too…

      • Marty McFly says:

        go 4 discs

        • Val says:

          And then complain when it’s 40 bucks…

          • Anonymous says:

I’d venture to guess that the second DVD is only about 2 hours. We all know they can fit 3 hours on a DVD.

            • WWESuperFan#1 says:

Do people still not realize that both DVD Disc 1 and Disc 2 can both be 3 hours because they combine to make Blu-Ray Disc 1 which can only be 4.5hours max?
That’s why DVD Disc 3 is usually 3 hours and the Blu-Ray Exclusives are 1.5hours, cause that equals 4.5 hours for Blu-Ray Disc 2.

              • WWESuperFan#1 says:

                *can’t both be 3 hours

                • John Cena says:

Nobody on these boards gets that. That dont understand the technical stuff, they dont understand the business stuff, and they dont understand that mosr fans are casual fans who dont buy 20 dvds a year with a 10 thousand hour collection of wrestling matches in their homes.

  19. Marty says:

It’s not the greatest release of this year or anything like that, but to be honest, with sets like the Hart Dungeon Collection, WarGames, MSG, and the eventual Sammartino one, I didn’t expect it to be. Willing to give the doc a chance especially if they have some really good interviewees (Punk, Regal, guys like that).

Lots of repeats of matches, but in fairness, some of them haven’t been released in some time. Also in fairness, it’s tough to release new matches given the subject matter, as we’ve seen matches of these rivalries so often before. Looking forward to seeing a Von Erichs-Freebirds match that was well after the time their feud was hot (as a comparison). I hadn’t seen Austin-Rock at Rebellion since the last time I watched anything on VHS and I remember it being pretty good. And even though I already have this as part of the SummerSlam Anthology, I’m really happy Angle-Lesnar is getting on a comp release, as I think it makes a nice complement to their Iron Man match (I actually prefer their matches that happened later in 2003 compared to WM because Brock is such a fun heel).

There’s some things I would’ve changed. The Hogan-Piper match at The Wrestling Challenge in Chicago hasn’t been released since Hulk Still Rules and would’ve been better than The War To Settle The Score. Same thing with Hogan-Andre, as the Shea Stadium match hadn’t been released in a while (and is shorter than the SS88 tag match, making room for another match potentially). I could do without ANY Brody-Abdullah match. A different Dreamer-Raven match from 1995 (where, typically, Dreamer gets screwed out of beating Raven) would’ve been nice. But overall, taking into account the constraints they would’ve had, since many matches of these rivalries have been released before, and the fact that I didn’t have that high of expectations here, I’m fine with this set.

  20. Andrey Kovac says:

I think they should have a match for each rivalry.

  21. PJ says:

I guess if you’re a collector and have every dvd then this kinda sucks. But if you only buy the ones you want, which is probably what most people do, it’s a good representation. I only buy like 2 or 3 dvds a year so I don’t have most fo the matches. Same with in your house.

  22. X-23 says:

Why’d they have to put ECW matches on here? Honestly, ECW should stay on ECW DVDs for the fans that like that kind of stuff. I’d rather have more WWE matches. Here are a couple matches I wish I could slide in there…

The Rock vs. Mankind (Empty Arena) – Halftime Heat 1999
Edge & Christian vs. Hardy Boyz vs. Dudley Boyz (TLC) – WrestleMania 17
Triple H vs. Randy Orton (Last Man Standing) – No Mercy 2007
Batista vs. Undertaker (Hell in a Cell) – Survivor Series 2007

Oddly enough, I have the Triangle Ladder match from WM 2000 on three different sets from Edge, Jeff Hardy, & Wrestling’s Highest Flyers. But not the WM 17 TLC match. And I don’t want to get the Ladder Match DVD since like half the matches are on other sets.

The only matches I personally already own is the Hogan/Savage tag match (Savage DVD), Rock vs. HHH (Rock DVD), & Cena vs. Edge (Cage DVD), but I understand why they’re here. They’re awesome choices!

Greatest “List” DVDs should be a four DVD set IMO. More matches, more content!

  23. Steve says:

    Such a lazy release.

  24. Philip says:

Truly horrendous match extras there. With the exception of two or three bouts, all others have already been released on different compilation sets.

WWE – for God’s sake, start releasing some ORIGINAL content. :-p

  25. Scsa says:

I’m not happy with the Austin Vs Vince & Shane McMahon – winner takes all! We’ve already had that match… I would hav preffered a different match for Austin n Vince Or at leaset a few more since it is on top! The St,Valentines Day Massacre would be 1.

  26. John says:

I just asked my friend to pre-order for me so she is going to 🙂

  27. Nick says:

Really piss poor effort by WWE. How many 90s and 2000s matches do we need, we have all the great ones already. They better not stuff up the rest of good releases this year.

  28. Somewhat disappointed that we are getting the Summerslam 1988 match again. I will say that the Magnum/Tully match is a welcome addition to the set. Looking forward to watching that in HD on the big screen.

  29. Dan says:

How could they put the crappy HHH/Orton feud on this list, but leave off Austin/Bret?

  30. Chris Sellers says:

How bout Flair vs Savage? How bout Tag Team Rivalries? Good List. Matches I’ve already seen though.

  31. nightmare says:

If it didn’t have the side bars on this I would buy it for sure but I hate the side bars wwe using why can’t they just release this videos without them

  32. Doc 902714 says:

Seeing this DVD seems to be a collection of matches that I already have on other DVD’s i.e. Stone Cold vs Vince & Shane McMahon Ladder Match (Ladder Match 2), John Cena vs. Edge (The Steel Cage Collection) and Tully Blanchard vs. Magnum T.A. (Essential Starrcade DVD).
I’ll be skipping this one. The documentary seems appealing but I’ll probably catch it on Netflix

    • wrestlingfan says:

Yep, I am with you there it seems they are getting lazy on this set, they better have a good documentary…

  33. Straightedge47 says:

Is the match between Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar on any other DVDs? (apart from the PPV itself)

    • Mark says:

      Straightedge-Yes

It is on the Summerslam DVD, Brock Lesnar DVD, and Greatest Superstars of the 21st Century DVD

      • NONAMEHERE says:

Incorrect. The Iron man match from smackdown is on Lesnar’s dvd and greatest stars of 21st century. Not SummerSlam match

      • TNAJason says:

It is NOT on the Brock Lesnar DVD(OR BLU-RAY) and I’m pretty sure its not on Greatest Superstars of 21st Century,I think you are confusing the Summerslam Match with the Smackdown Iron Man Match. I don’t have the Summerslam this match was a part of,so I will be buying this, tho I would have bought it anyway, sure it could have been better, but it is what it is,but don’t give false info just because you don’t like it.

  34. Ryan says:

Way too many feuds missing. This is really geared towards today’s fan which is a shame for fans of the 70’s and 80’s.

How did Piper vs Snuka or Tito vs Valentine or Slaughter vs Shieik not make it? Those are just from 84 WWF alone.

No Bruno vs Zybszko? Especially after him signing on for the HOF I thought he would be on there for sure.

No MX vs RnR? How is that even possible to leave off?

Magum vs Nikita was the choice to use instead of Magnum vs Tully.

Hulk vs Orndorff is another one. This is Hulk’s second biggest money making feud behind Savage.

Most of these selected didn’t even draw money. Shouldn’t that be part of the criteria? Who picked these some 22 yr old college intern who doesn’t know about the history of wrestling.

Highly disappointed as this had a chance to be great.

  35. sheezy says:

The countdown feature should be entertaining but considering the dissapointing amount of repeat matches and the fact that the countdown will probably end up on netflix, I think.I’m gonna pass. It’s a shame because I was very exciteed about this set.

  36. sheezy says:

I’m in agreement with most of their top ten, but 10-25 feature a number of rivalries which don’t make.my top 25

  37. Rated-R-Ron says:

    This is an easy skip.
1st disc would be a one time view at best, and all the good stuff on the other discs is available elsewhere. Saved me $20.

  38. Father Pedro says:

While I love the choices of rivalries, and am looking forward to great insight on these matchups, the match selection sucks. This is the best WWE can do to honor these great rivalries? What an insult!

  39. Scsa says:

This set could have been Great, n although I’m not as happy with it, ill still hav to purchase the Blu-Ray due to becomming disappointed after hearing that the Austin Vs Rock Greatest Rivlaries set had been cancelled and that has been my all time favourite rivlary! Though, I was hoping it would be no.1 on this set too!

I just hope this Rivlary as well as others have lots to show amongst all that had gone down!

  40. Mark says:

You know the survey poll voting on different DVD/Blu-ray releases at the end of the year last year? I am going to vote this set as the most disappointing release of the year

  41. the man says:

Austin vs Rock should be #1 or at least in the top 3. Undertaker/Kane is way too high. You know its only that high because both guys currently work for the company.

  42. Anonymous says:

Obvious omissions from this list are:
    Flair vs. Sting
    Austin vs. Hart
    Flair vs. Funk
Midnight Express vs. Rock n Roll Express
    Flair vs. Savage
    Y2J vs. HBK

What should have been taken off to make way for these:
-Bruiser Brody vs. Abdullah the Butcher
    -Orton vs. HHH
    -Tully Blanchard vs. Magnum TA
    -Verne Gagne vs. Nick Bockwinkel
    -Rey vs. Eddie
    -Mankind vs. Undertaker

  43. Justin says:

So has the greatest rivalry concept the way of the Bret/HBK DVD been scrapped? A 2 or 3 Disc DVD set could have easily been made for many of these rivalries and in my opinion have sold well. Or, they could have done this in 3 disc volumes highlighing one rivalry per disc. For example, imagine a 3-Disc set with one disc one being Dreamer/Raven, disc two being John Cena/Edge and disc three being Von Erichs/Freebirds. Oh well, one can dream.

    • Anonymous says:

I’m guessing it was scrapped because what made the Bret-Shawn one so good was the real life drama, and a lot of the feuds people wanted on those (Rock vs. Austin, HHH vs. Rock) either had none or not nearly enough.

      • Justin says:

That is a good theory and, if true, an understandable reason to discontinue the series. However, I believe most if not all of the rivalries presented are worthy of at least a one three hour DVD disc. Surely there is enough material for a 45 minute to 90 minute documentary for each rivaly plus matches on most if not all of these rivalries.

  44. Zach says:

Why is Angle/Lesnar on here? WHERE IS HBK/JERICHO? And Bret/Austin should have been on here too as someone else said.

  45. DJH says:

I maybe bias as I’m a massive Hitman fan but thought Bret v Austin should have been included and even Bret v Owen

  46. John Peterson says:

The list should have been longer.maybe top 35

  47. John Peterson says:

The last should have been longer.maybe top 35

  48. Daniel Bee says:

Let’s try to keep the comments spoiler free who those who didn’t check that part. Thanks folks.

  49. Mark says:

I am not going to buy this set since it is very disappointing so I am going to ask my friend to buy it for me

They could have done a lot better on their match selections

  50. Scsa says:

‘Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. The Rock’!!!??? They shud b higher! + the matches look so crap. Theres a few good 1s though Blu-Ray extras suck 🙁

  51. Cassette says:

@ Daniel Bee Amazon , has Wwe Elimination Chamber 2013 Blu ray. for Pre Order and , a Release Date for June 18 . Best buy are , going to have Limited copies in stores I was told today . I could be wrong just thought I should share the news.

    • Daniel Bee says:

That’s right, 3 months exclusively at Best Buy until it’s available more widely at places like Amazon.

  52. Harry Faversham says:

Surprised they didn’t put the Legends Roundtable on Rivalries on the blu ray. Maybe it contradicts the list, not sure. It would have been nice and might have made it more worthwhile.

  53. Harry Faversham says:

This is a messed up messy mess. Putting this DVD in my DVD collection would make the others look bad. Like putting Disco Inferno in the nWo or Paul Roma in the Horsemen. If there’s no thought or effort put into it, it has no credbility and I’m not buying it!

  54. RazorwireRyan says:

No Jericho Michaels is dropping the ball hugely. Even Rey Jericho was worthy, but no, can’t have Jericho in any of these DVDs apparently. No sign of him on the best PPV Matches either.

  55. Jammer says:

Interesting how #2 and #3 ranked don’t have matches as extras though on this set. Being that they are ranked so high, you would think they would have matches on here. That is pretty disappointing for me to be honest.

  56. heat says:

Uh… are they stupid? I see top feuds. But where the heck is Sting vs Flair? I know its WWE. But this says “In Wrestling History”. And there are several non WWE matches & feuds here. This lacks all legitimacy without that monster rivalry of 2 guys who had the best working chemistry of just about anyone.

  57. Cody Schields says:

Irritated that Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels didn’t make this. Probably the best 1 on 1 feud in the last 5 years

  58. t says:

I am glad that Mankind – Taker gets some love. THAT drew me into WWF more than anything else. Ranking Cactus – Triple H that low is unreasonable must either be due to the fact that Cactus is no WWE creation or because Triple H hates the opinion that it was Foley who really helped him reaching main event level (which is also my opinion, that feud gave Hunter THAT much more credibility, loved it).

  59. t says:

Afer all, despite feuds/matches we miss or already have, the complete package is pretty cool. I am looking forward to it. 🙂

  60. Hollywood says:

The Top 5 is perfect, but the matches and the rest of the top 25 is disappointing

  61. I like it! The order, for me at least, is near perfect.
