With just one WWE DVD release still to come in the United States this year, it’s time to take a look back at the complete list of 2021-released WWE DVDs and Blu-rays!
As well as the full slate of Pay-Per-View titles throughout the year, several non-PPV offerings made it into the Home Video schedule again – including another compilation of WWE 24 documentaries and the recent “Best of 1996” and Drew McIntyre features.

Looking to the UK, fans there were treated to some exclusives like “Best WrestleMania Main Events” and a 4-disc Special Edition of “The Rock: Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment” DVD.
Fans in both North America and Australia actually had some WWE documentaries produced on DVD that did not see a release in UK/Europe, these being the WWE Legends biographies from A&E. Those titles didn’t technically fall under the WWE Home Video banner, which is an interesting talking point as the odd release like those could, in theory, still happen in the US next year.
WrestleMania 37 was produced on both DVD and Blu-ray, including in North America where this was the only WWE Blu-ray title of the year.

The UK and Europe however continued to receive all of the ‘Big 4’ PPVs on both DVD and Blu-ray. Fremantle’s popular re-releases of classic WrestleMania DVDs from the past also continued around ‘Mania season, which saw WM14, 16, 20, 22 and 24 back in circulation.

As you know, we reported this month that WWE DVDs are cancelled in North America and Australia beginning 2022, with next week’s Survivor Series DVD being the final title. We were informed of this development by two reliable sources and as of right now we still haven’t heard anything to the contrary.
However, a US listing for WWE Day 1 has surfaced on retail sites like Amazon.com and Target.com, with a scheduled release date of February 15th, 2022.
We provided an update on our socials:
We're aware a #WWEDay1 DVD has surfaced on US retail sites: https://t.co/R1YMFKwW0N
…and we're as confused as you are! 🤔
It's not unheard of a DVD appears scheduled then is later removed. On the flip side, it's not unheard of #WWE change plans last minute. More when we can.

Whichever way it goes, the Warner Bros. listing for the Day 1 PPV DVD suggests to us there have been last minute decisions at play — if Survivor Series is to be the last WWE DVD in North America, at some point recently that probably wasn’t the plan given this new listing is in the system. If Survivor Series is in fact not the last, plans have clearly changed.
Stick with us, we’re hoping to confirm early in the new year.

I emailed wwedvd.co.uk and they stated business on their end was very good, picking up many additional US customers this past year and that as far as they were concerned it was going to keep being business as usual.

Good News! Day 1 is officially up for preorder through WWEDVD UK. So there is hope for us from the US to still import. Hopefully they continue after the Rumble.
The only thing I can think of is Day 1 was originally supposed to be the TLC December 2021 PPV before they changed it to Day 1. I’m guessing this still fell under WB’s 2021 schedule.
I think i need to get a region free blu-ray player
Wm 24 and 16 would be great to have on bluray
just to clear this up, WM16 hasn’t been (re)released on bluray, just on dvd.
I hope this rumor about ”’W.W.E DAY 1”’ getting a united states d.v.d release is true. That would be great news.
Just by looking at the list of releases, no wonder they stopping in 2022. Not enough people were buying all those crap DVDs to justify production. What a terrible list.
But you miss the point: why did less effort start to be put into the releases, resulting in them being lacklustre?
Because not enough people were even buying the better ones anymore. No point putting the time and production costs into making epic three disc sets if they’re not going to turn a profit.
It is not uncommon, at all, for Amazon to put up preorders for things that we know have already been cancelled. Personally, I feel the decision to end production was the last minute idea, and that DVD was already on lists sent out before that decision was made. I fully expect it to not come out, but I went ahead and preordered it anyway, if, for no other reason, to show demand does exist. If you are able, and want them to continue, I would advise doing the same. If it never comes out, it costs you nothing, and it shows physical media isn’t as dead as they think.
In regards to why there’s listings for Day 1 on Amazon and retail sites, I can only make one of these guesses.
A. Maybe it’s a listing that was made before they announced no more DVDs and it’s yet to be taken down.
B. It’s actually possible to order from third party UK sellers on Amazon, (not sure about retail sites) and maybe that’s a listing for the UK release, assuming they’re still getting it. (Amazon does leave a blurb on DVDs/Blu-rays from other regions stating that it won’t play in your player unless it’s region free. These don’t pop up however, until after it’s officially released)
C. Maybe 2022 will actually be their final year of home video releases rather than no more at all starting in 2022? I’m sure this is unlikely due to what the announcement was but assuming none of this is a mistake, I can’t think of what else it could be, unless there’s still going to be a few more releases at the start of the year before they pull the plug shortly after.
On another note, maybe this is just wishful thinking on my part because it’s what I want, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we still get WrestleMania since that is the money maker for them in the home video department. Again, probably farfetched given what the subject at hand clearly is, but with how traditional it is to buy WrestleMania on video, it’ll just feel weird not having it.
We can rule out B – this listing is a Warner Bros US one. It appears in an internal schedule we can access, too.
Oh whoops, I looked further down on the listing and see where it says Warner Bros. February 15th would be the release date if it somehow goes ahead I can see. Still interesting to find out what will come of it.
