  1. K says:

10/10 WWE release ECW which was released either on VHS tape (ppv) or Hardcore TV

What about terror at tabor 93, november to remember 93, december to dismenber 93 they are all unreleased only a handful of matches were tapped for TV of those events.

Also morrisville mayhem 93 was untapped on either hardcore tv / ppv.

WWE do your research before clamming aomething is unreleased when in fact it is released.

  2. U won't know says:

    You guys like ecw hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah

  3. taylor says:

After hearing the news of this release, I was very excited. Being an original ECW fan since 1995 and like many others I waited every other month for the latest commercial release normally taped at the arena, to be delivered to me from Rob Butcher, along with the TV shows as we didn’t get the Hardcore TV shows until late 98.

So when I heard the title “Unreleased”, I was looking forward to the listings coming out as I started thinking back about all the times that something which happened at the ECW arena show or wherever, be it a match or angle, that ended up being cut from the release. Even though I kept an open mind because I know how WWE can be sometimes as far as match selection etc on DVDs….

But this is a real disappointment, as it seems the term “unreleased” in this case means “unreleased in WWE land”. Almost all of these matches have been available for years on one release or another on DVD, and no I don’t mean through anyone like RF.

I had kept an open mind, and a realistic one….although like every longtime ECW fan, I automatically began dreaming of the full version of the Crucifixtion angle (not just 15 seconds either).

I thought about many other things which had been under lock and key for all these years, but with a couple of exceptions….there’s nothing here which hasn’t been already released officially.

Certainly nothing worth tolerating the always terrible WWE cuts. Although, anything is better than the shockingly bad Delta releases.

  4. Indyfan says:

It seems like Highspots charges a lot for shipping to Canada. I was going to buy RVDs Tv title reign and it was going to cost me 20.00 to ship. That’s ridiculous. ROH and PWg and DG USA charge way way less than that

  5. Kub says:

    “ECW World Heavyweight Championship Match
    Mike Awesome vs. Masato Tanaka
    November to Remember – November 7, 1999”

    Yes.

  6. LP1 says:

Honestly, if anyone wants real ECW DVD’s, go to RFVideo.com and you can buy pretty much every show in ECW history(including complete box sets of ECW Hardcore TV from 1993 on) completely uncensored(blood, cursing etc.) and with original theme music, not the generic music WWE dubs over. RFVideo is allowed to sell all of the old ECW stuff due to a pre-existing contract they had before WWE purchased the ECW assets.

    • Dave says:

I read that RF Video sold their library to Highspots.com which is why they have all these new titles like History of the ECW Title, ECW on TNN set, Best of the Arena, etc.

They just have to include the RF Video logos on them.

Definitely recommend getting the DVDs from Highspots, unless you want to wait a month for RFVideo.com to ship them out. I ordered once in the past from there and it took 3 months to arrive; it took them 6 weeks to ship. Never again!

I just get my ECW DVDs from Highspots; excellent service and fast shipping. I’m very tempted to get the complete ECW on TNN set, but it’s $225.

I have several shows from 94-98, Raven vs. Sandman Feud and Best of the Arena and they’re awesome! loved the Raven/Sandman feud! Raven vs. Dreamer is next on my list.

  7. Anonymous says:

ATTENTION ALL WWE FANS: You MUST get this set. All these matches are great with a few exceptions (Rhino/Spike was very short as was Sandman/Rhino). GET THE BLUE RAY SO YOU CAN EXPERIENCE THE GREATEST MULTI MAN MATCH OF ALL TIME, SHANE/TERRY/SABU FROM THE NIGHT THE LINE WAS CROSSED.

    • Lee Roy says:

Why would you buy this DVD set most of them have on DVD already so “Unreleased” means only in WWE land.

  8. Anonymous says:

…what’s the deal with the Rey listing?

  9. Charlie F says:

I’m really digging this set. Loving the fact its an unreleased vol 1! they should do this with every fed or superstar, cant wait to see an unreleased Bret Hart dvd!

  10. Justin F says:

Mysterio vs Psicosis could very well be the one from One Night Stand 2005…

Or else why would it be listed after the 2001 match?

  11. G. Shire says:

No date for the Rey Mysterio vs. Psicosis match?

  12. Anonymous says:

even though we get one repeat match with taz vs shane douglas which can be found on ecw bloodsport, the matches look great. can’t wait to pick this up.

    • Harry Faversham says:

The match on Bloodsport is not from Guilty As Charged 1999. But if the Sabu vs. Taz match is from Barely Legal that would be a repeat as they released the whole event. Not sure about any others.

    • Anonymous says:

It’s not a repeat. The Bloodsport match was Taz vs. Shane from Hardcore TV a week after Guilty as Charged.
The Bloodsport match was in the ECW Arena and Taz won by pinfall. The Guilty as Charged match was in Florida and Taz won by submission.

      • Harry Faversham says:

Yeah the TV one is the rematch and the clip starts with Douglas asking Taz to give the fans an F’n world title match they could be proud of. I never saw the whole original TV thing but I guessed it was because there was a lot of interference and Francine’s clothes fell off a bit in the Guilty As Charged Match. I think both were pretty good. I had the original Delta DVD when it first came out and I believe that RVD vs. Lance Storm was the match of the night, an unbleievable match that I can’t believe they didnt put on here. But I’m sure this batch will be good.

  13. Dave says:

    @ StevenJackson

Styles did say it will original ECW footage from 94-01, so ONS 2005 is considered WWECW.

I think they must have had a forgotten classic we don’t know about.

    • Anonymous says:

I don’t think you can consider ONS 2005 to be WWECW. It was a reunion show of the original ECW that happened to be produced by WWE. It had nothing to do with the eventual WWECW

    • William Forrester says:

The Awesome vs Tanaka match from ONS 2005 was included on the Bloodsport DVD, so I would imagine ONS 2005 would still be considered original ECW footage.

  14. indyfan says:

I was wondering the same thing Steven. I was under the impression that all their matches in ECW were already released

  15. StevenJackson says:

Marked out for this set evenmore now I know all the matches and where they are from =D But the Rey Mysterio vs. Psicosis intrigues me? To my knowledge they had 3 matches in ECW (which have already been released on various DVDs by WWE). This is one of three things. A-An Error. B-Their 2005 ECW One Night Stand match. C-A forgotten classic from ECW not seen in years? What does everyone think?

  16. Harry Faversham says:

Silvervision’s match listing says ‘contents tbc’.

  17. indyfan says:

    @James

Maybe the matches fill up the time constraints for the dvd. If 5 matches are approx 30 each(including intro from Styles).. that is 2 and half hours. That is what WWE usually has per disc.

  18. NWO 4 Life says:

I wasn’t a big ECW fan but I did love Elektra’s sexy body.

  19. American Dragon says:

Brock is back! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! Daniel Bryan *clap clap clap clap clap* Daniel Bryan *clap clap clap clap clap* Daniel Bryan *clap clap clap clap clap* -Daniel Bryan chants throughout raw

    -A-Train Returns

    -Alberto Del Rio Returns

-Johnny running both Raw and Smackdown

    -Brock Lesnar Returns

    BEST RAW IN A WHILE!

    • SRB says:

      Give me a break!

    • Daniel Bee says:

Lesnar and A-Train back on the same night huh. Hope somebody is not dropped on their head again. 😉

Great Raw, I agree. Aside from the obvious, I loved Rock’s promo. I guess those “lost mic skills” people spoke about suddenly came back.

  20. Marty says:

    Great listing!

I know people will be quick to point out that Taz-Sabu from Barely Legal got released along with the rest of the show with ONS ’06, but I don’t believe it ever got released with other compilations they’ve done. So in that case, it would qualify for this set.

I thought the RVD/Sabu-Eliminators match was on the RVD set. But no, that was the Crossing The Line match, this is the Cyberslam one.

Still no date for Rey-Psicosis. Has me really curious.

  21. SRB says:

ECW World Tag Team Championship Match
Sabu & Rob Van Dam vs. Hayabusa and Jensei Shinzaki
    ECW Heatwave – August 2, 1998

Thats all you need to know right there

  22. DrFever says:

Not knowing dates/events some of these are from, some will not really be “unreleased”. I have all of the ECW DVDs from when ECW was around so that takes care of Sabu/RVD v. Haya/Jen, perhaps the Dean v. Eddie, and the RVD/Sabu v Elims might be the same on the RVD DVD.

    BUT WITH THAT SAID….
Tommy Dreamer v. Taz, Cyberslam, in full = I’m buying it. I was there that night and it was wonderful to see.

    • Anonymous says:

I believe when they are saying “unreleased”, WWE means that they have never released these matches. They aren’t counting the original ECW DVD releases.

  23. Joe Israel says:

This match listing has me even more excited for this DVD than I already was. I NEVER thought I would see a Hayabusa match on a WWE DVD. If you’ve never seen him in a match, you are in for a treat.

  24. Fer says:

Awesome vs. Tanaka, it doesn’t really get better than that in wrestling

  25. Anonymous says:

That Blu-Ray Extra of The Night The Line was crossed just sold this set too me,also nice too see some Cyberslam 2000 footage included as it never got a UK Delta Release.:)

  26. Vincenzzzzzo says:

Awesome release. I’m looking forward to the Dean Malenko vs Eddie Guerrero match the most. I think I just saw clips, but never the entire match. All the other matches are great too. Can’t wait.

  27. james says:

Very good listing, but man does it seem thin. Only 5 matches each on the first two discs? You would think they could throw a lot more on here to fill up disc space.

    • SRB says:

I agree. While Yes some of the matches are a decent length you’ve got to expect WWE cutting corners once again. Even on a fantastic release like this it shows WWE still doesn’t have it fully understood that mistakes are very obvious.

      • Anonymous says:

I don’t know how you guys keep complaining about this and say its a mistake on WWE’s part.
        3 disc DVDs = 2 Disc Blu-Rays
The first two DVD discs total up to 4.5hours which equals Blu-Ray disc 1.
And then Blu-Ray disc 2 is the 3 hours of DVD Disc 3 and over an hour of Blu-Ray Exclusive Extras.
This is how its been for awhile and this is how it seems its going to stay.

        • SRB says:

The complaint lyes with the fact that DVDs no longer are packed with footage. 1 disc blu-ray is not 4 1/2 hours. Remember when 3 hour pay per views were released as well as 2 hour raws and even additional segments and interviews? That was 1 blu ray disc. over 5 hours on 1 disc, easy.

“And then Blu-Ray disc 2 is the 3 hours of DVD Disc 3 and over an hour of Blu-Ray Exclusive Extras.” WWE has not released a 3 hour disc in a long time.

  28. Dakota T. says:

Are all of these Extreme Rules?

  29. Matt says:

I’m thinking/hoping that the Credible/Dreamer match is the one from Cyber Slam immediately following Dreamer’s match with Taz. At any rate this set is definitely a must have.

  30. Daniel says:

Wow just wow! I can’t wait to get this ECW LIVES!

  31. Indyfan says:

    OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  32. nightmare says:

I am kind of Shocked there was no Dudley Boys on here

  33. Austin says:

Taz vs. Sabu was already released when they released the event with One Night Stand 2.

  34. StevenJackson says:

I’m very impressed with this release. One of my matches I wanted is on this set RVD and Sabu vs. Jinsei Shinzaki and Hayabusa. Plus Masato Tanaka vs. Mike Awesome, PLUS Dean Malenko vs. Eddy Guerrero and Rey Mysterio vs. Psicosis (eventhough I think I have all their matches already). It is a pre-order for sure.

  35. Rocko says:

I was skeptical as to just how many matches would be included, especially when they announced this will be a series. And I’m very happy they proved me wrong. This just became a release day purchase for me. I just hope the future volumes can be as strong as this one.

  36. ElectrifyingStun says:

The matches here look pretty good and they even have the Triple Threat Championship ECW Championship match from The Night the Line was Crossed 1997.

    • KEN SHAMROCK says:

@Electrifying Stun, no they don’t. They just have the one from 1994. Why are most of the matches on this listing missing the dates/events?

      • straightedge47 says:

They’re probably missing because Joey doesn’t know the dates for the none PPV matches. When silvervision release the content they’ll have the dates listed.

        • KEN SHAMROCK says:

@straightedge47 Dude, most of the matches from 97 on HAPPENED on PPV. Look at the ones missing dates

ECW World Heavyweight Championship Match (Happened on multiple occasions)
Shane Douglas vs. Bam Bam Bigelow

ECW World Television Championship Match (Happened on three different PPVs AND TV)
Rob Van Dam vs. Jerry Lynn

          DISC 3

ECW World Heavyweight Championship Match (Happened on PPV and TV)
          Shane Douglas vs. Taz

ECW World Heavyweight Championship Match (Several TNN matches and two PPV matches)
          Mike Awesome vs. Masato Tanaka

Justin Credible & Lance Storm vs. Rob Van Dam & Jerry Lynn

ECW World Heavyweight Championship Match (Happened on TNN AND at least one PPV)
          Tommy Dreamer vs. Justin Credible

Rhyno vs. The Sandman (Happened on TNN AND at least one PPV)

          ECW World Television Championship Match
Rhyno vs. Spike Dudley (Happened on TNN AND Massacre on 34th Street)

ECW World Tag Team Championship Three-Way Dance
Yoshihiro Tajiri & Mikey Whipwreck vs. Kid Kash & Super Crazy vs. The FBI (Guilty as Charged 2001)

Almost ALL OF THEM WERE ON PPV. Also, I noted above that the Unholy alliance/Kash & Crazy/FBI match was from Guilty as Charged 2001 because that’s the only show that match happened on.

        • KEN SHAMROCK says:

My point is that Joey is super knowledgeable when it comes to ECW. He remembers the dates of practically every big match he ever saw, so either he doesn’t know which matches he’s going to be introing (since they all happened multiple times except for the Guilty as Charged 2001 Three Way Tag), or he’s not allowed to name the date.

      • Mark D says:

Joey didn’t add events/dates for any matches (other than Barley Legal) so I added the ones which I could categorically say (which is why most don’t have them as the match happened a few times, as you’ve wrote). When we have the full and final details you’ll see it up on the site.

        • Anonymous says:

Maybe put a note in the article that it’s just an educated guess on your part? That way there’s no confusion when the official dates come out and people claim that this site was wrong.
