March 1, 2019 by Daniel Bee

WWE 'John Cena: Hustle, Loyalty, Respect' DVD - Match Listing Revealed!

As revealed earlier today by WWE Home Video UK, it’s time for a look (if you can see it) at the next full content listing for a WWE DVD this year: “John Cena – Hustle, Loyalty, Respect”.

John Cena’s latest DVD collection will be a 2-disc set that focuses on his best matches in WWE over the past four years; it will feature fifteen bouts that begin at WrestleMania 31 in 2015 and end with Cena in action in one of only a couple of matches he’s competed in so far in 2019.

Thanks to WDN reader “DeckyStrikesBack” for the heads up on the news!

At this time “John Cena: Hustle, Loyalty, Respect” is available to pre-order in the UK via WWEDVD.co.uk and Amazon.co.uk. We’ll let you know when product listings surface elsewhere.

WWE - John Cena STF Finishing Move to Triple H, Greatest Royal Rumble

WrestlingDVDNetwork.com has learned that in the United States the new “Andre The Giant” DVD releasing this April will include a free “Fathead” (wall decal) inside the packaging, presumably of Andre The Giant.

The upcoming Fastlane 2019 DVD, also due to hit stores in April, will include a Topps trading card of AJ Styles. In a small number of the DVDs this trading card will be hand signed by AJ Styles himself.

We have two new WWE Pay-Per-View DVDs incoming: Royal Rumble 2019 on March 5th, and Elimination Chamber 2019 on April 2nd.

Royal Rumble will be a 2-disc set on DVD (also available as a single-disc Blu-ray in the UK/Europe) while Elimination Chamber looks to be incoming as a single-disc DVD worldwide. The Rumble will have extras as usual with the Kickoff Show matches, but Chamber may not have space for extras.

  1. James says:

I’m getting the DVD. The match against Kane should be good.

  2. AK says:

Hmm wonder why this Cena DVD is only 2 disc. He’s 1 of their top stars even as a part timer and this set starts from WM31 back in 2015. I figure 1 or both of those factors would’ve led to a 3 disc set??

It’s a good listing from where I sit bc only 5 ppv matches if u count GRR as a ppv.

  3. Brad Attitude says:

Every match on disc 1 is for the United States championship?

    PASS.

  4. THOMAS DORCHAK says:

If anyone picks up the Royal Rumble DVD today, can you confirm if it does have all three preshow matches and if there are any Raw or Smackdown extras? Thanks!

    • Timothy Thorpe says:

I sent Daniel some pictures, no guarantee they’ll be uploaded but I can give you the listing: Disc 1: 1. It’s Time to Rumble 2. Smackdown Womens: Asuka vs Becky Lynch 3. Smackdown TT: The Bar vs The Miz and Shane McMahon 4. The Boss is Back 5. Raw Womens: Ronda Rousey vs Sasha Banks 6. Womens Rumble Disc 2: 1. WWE: Daniel Bryan vs AJ Styles 2. Universal: Brock Lesnar vs Finn Balor 3. Men’s Rumble Kickoff: Bobby Roode and Chad Gable vs Rezar and Scott Dawson US: Rusev vs Shinsuke Nakamura Cruiserweight 4 way: Buddy Murphy vs Akira Tozawa vs Hideo Natami vs Kalisto. No Raw or Smackdown stuff. Hope this helps.

    • Heartburn Kid says:

All bonus matches are there no sd or raw extras though

      • Ruthless.Attitude.Eras4Life says:

Do you know the runtime of the ppv it self? Is it the edited version which is currently running as stream replay on the Network: 4 hours 40 minutes 13 seconds? When aired live and also the first weeks of replays the run time of the event was 4 hours 53 minutes.

        • Timothy Thorpe says:

Disc one clocks in at 2:36:30 and disc two clocks in at 2:04:06. Total time: 4:40:36.

          • Ruthless.Attitude.Eras4Life says:

Timothy Thorpe: Thanks for the update. I am waiting for my bluray edition to be released around the 18th. But nice to have a picture of what to expect. Hopefully the 13 minutes being butchered from the live airing is not of particulare significance.

            • Timothy Thorpe says:

One final note: Times for the Kickoff matches:
              1. Roode/Gable vs Rezar/Dawson: 10:43
              2. US Champ. Match: 14:26
              3. Cruiserweight Champ Match: 16:50
Also worth noting is all the entrances are intact.

              • Ruthless.Attitude.Eras4Life says:

If my calculator skills are still working, I get that to be around 5 hours 20 minutes in total for the main show + the 3 kickoff matches. Now, I am really exciting (and actually a bit nervous) about the Bluray release..cos that is a lot to have compressed in one disc, if the quality of picture and sound is not to be devaluated. Guess, I’ll see. Thanks again for the info-details. 😉

  5. Patrick Mcnamara says:

I hope John Cena has a few more big matches before he has to possibly walk away, hopefully not. He should have a short run with the WWE UNIVERSAL CHAMPIONSHIP. He could add so much prestige if he won it and held semi regular Universal Championship opens. Slot could come out of that, if it did in fact happen. I think if he held those Universal title opens, NXT superstars can really shine and show the wwe what’s up and where the future truly is.

  6. RabidHeat says:

I personally would’ve left the Kane and HHH matches off a set that is supposed to be focussed on the New Era and Cena’s challenges from “young, hungry superstars”, but still a good set for Cena fans, I suppose.

    • Patrick Mcnamara says:

The Kane match is apart of that great build up to Wrestlemania 34 against The Undertaker. So I’m looking forward to having that match along with the US title match against Seth Rollins where he had his nose broken and still made Rollins tap.

  7. Patrick Mcnamara says:

Totally getting this DVD set. Loving that it features some 2018 2019 bouts as well

  8. LP1 says:

I’m curious how Royal Rumble 2019 will be a single disc blu-ray. The ppv went almost 5 hours and if you add in the 3 pre-show matches, that’s nearly 6 hours of matches on 1 disc. Not sure how that’s gonna work. A single blu-ray is not able to hold nearly 6 hours of HD video on 1 disc.

    • Ruthless.Attitude.Eras4Life says:

They will problaly release Royal Rumble 2019 in the edited version, which as of writing on the Network, is clocking in at 04 hours 40 minutes 13 seconds.

When it aired live and in the first days of replay streaming it ran for:
      04 hours 53 minutes 17 seconds.

I really do not know what footage has been deleted, but 13 minutes can NOT only be pointless commercials that does not need to be on a physical edition.

As a collector of WWE DVD/Bluray over the years, I like to compare the physicals to the Network stream edition. In about 8 out of 10 occasions WWE have cut or deleted some footage in the stream version compared to the physical media, since the runtimes are different.

Anything from a few seconds up to almost 20 minutes are being cut on streaming editions of some releases. A significant example is the “NWO – the revolution” documentary + Roundtable discussion:

Combined it clocks in at 01 hourh 57 minutes 37 seconds on the Network.
On the Bluray, the runtime is: 02 hours 16 minutes 52 seconds = Close to 20 minutes LESS on the streaming network edition!

The Network is overall a definitely PLUS going on its 5th year..one should just have in mind, that Vince and Co. can (and problaly will) edit out what they don’t like to be aired, when sudden political or cultural winds are blowing here and now. Speculations, indeed..but, in the words of The Billionair Princess when The Network was introduced:

“…uncut and unedited…” Yeah, right! That goes for the physicals too now a days!

      • Mark Markson says:

Some of the PPVs are so long. I would like for WWE to upload condensed PPVs. Where entrances are cut out, and you just get the matches from bell to bell.

      • LP1 says:

Even at 4 hours and 40 minutes, it still won’t fit on a single BD disc because you still have the 3 pre-show matches that bring it to about 5 and 1/2 hours. Again, I don’t believe a single BD can hold that much HD video.

        • Ruthless.Attitude.Eras4Life says:

LP1: At least if the quality of the picture and sound is to be the usual high standard..

I own some DVD sets, that are running very close to 4 hours.. Tagged classics version of WM 4 is 3 hours 44 minutes for example.

But the pictures looks so compressed and has a horrible sound, that it is almost unwatchable. Same goes for several TNA-dvd releases.

I really do not hope, that WWE is going down that road again, producing horrible quality in picture and sound with the few Bluray releases they still (for the moment at least) are releasing.

  9. Alex Murray says:

This has to be the 4th or 5th John Cena DVD.I don’t own any of them and I will probably will pass on this one as well. Can’t imagine watching hours of Cena Matches.I do have Royal Rumble pre-ordered though and I’m excited for the Andre the Giant dvd

  10. Paul says:

I don’t have a problem with the listing – I enjoyed Cena’s US Title Open Challenges so it’s good to get so many of them here. My problem (apart from the lack of Blu Ray) is that it’s a 2 disc set. Is this indicative of Cena matches being few and far between in the last few years or of WWE scaling back DVD releases from 3 disc sets to 2 discs?

  11. Any news on the WWE Crown Jewel 2018 DVD??? Is it still coming out on DVD or blurays???

    • Gtmustang5482 says:

I was just asking the other day about this. Hope we get some information.

      • Paul says:

I tweeted the UK distributors about Crown Jewel a couple of weeks ago and they told me there are no plans to release the event. I find this incredibly strange given it was Shawn Michaels’ comeback match

        • RabidHeat says:

To be honest, it doesn’t surprise me one but that they’re not releasing the event itself after all the flack it got. The HBK match will surely show on a future Michaels, HHH, Undertaker, Kane or maybe even tag teams set.

    • BAS says:

Greatest Royal Rumble was released around the time of Crown Jewel, so if Crown Jewel does get a release, I predict it will come out around the time of the next Saudi Arabia event.

      • Heartburn Kid says:

Hopefully granted the show was full of political controversy and it was terrible I like having physical release for storyline purposes. Thats why I’m still a bit salty they never released a Backlash/No Mercy 2016 double pack when they started doing that

        • BAS says:

Yeah, that one still bugs me too, especially since Roadblock got a release but those two events didn’t. Or even Elimination Chamber 2015 not getting a U.S. release. Aside from the storyline purposes like you mentioned, I’m disappointed about chamber because I own all the chamber matches but the ones from that show. (And this year obviously but that hasn’t come out yet)

  12. Steven says:

Cena vs Rollins US Title Match is that the one where Rollins broke Cenas Nose?

  13. Decky says:

Thanks for adding my name! Interesting little set this, the US Open made for some of his best matches. Could be worth picking up!
