New 8-Disc WWE DVD, Kurt Angle Reacts to Top 50 Superstars Rank

September 2, 2011 by Daniel Bee

Kurt Angle has taken to Twitter after having found out his position in WWE’s Top 50 Superstars of All Time, released on DVD in December 2010. Angle was ranked in #34 for the feature. You can watch his full segment in the video below.

I was #34 of Wwe All time Greatest? Tell You what, take Me off the list. I’d rather not be on it, if I wasn’t top 5. Who Ranks Wrestlers?

I have never been more insulted by WWE Top 50. #34 to me is a kick to the balls! Take me out of ratings. Please. U think fans will buy that crap?

Shawn Michaels deserves #1. He has been putting on awesome matches for well over 20something years. I will not complain. It is what it is!!!

Mick Foley (ranked #33, one ahead of Angle) has been watching through it and tweeted this:

“My kids are THOROUGHLY enjoying the Top 50 WWE Superstars of All Time, and are giving me NO chance of appearing on the DVD. Big surprise! My younger kids are SO into trying to guess the top 10 stars. Really didn’t picture myself watching WWE DVD’s a few years ago. I was pretty happy to be #33. Guessing Kurt Angle wasn’t so pleased to be #34 – kind of a perfectionist.”

A new 8-Disc WWE DVD box set will be released to the United Kingdom later this month.

Produced by Silvervision, WWE 2011 Annual will contain The Best of Raw 2010, The Best of Smackdown 2009-2010 and Live in the UK April 2011 in one release.

I’m not surprised it took him a while to notice. I doubt he watches DVDs much. He’s too busy working out, drinking milk and polishing his medal. Quite frankly he’s right. He should be far higher on the list, but as we all know the list was silly. I think they did it on purpose to shake up people’s perceptions because its pretty boring hearing the same names touted all the time. But on the other hand there’s good reasons why Rock, Austin, Bret, Undertaker and Shawn get such praise.

  4. SRB says:

Funny to see Kurt Angle reacting the same exact way that all of the people who bought the DVD reacted. Let’s be honest, that list/countdown was waaaay off right from the beginning. Their #1 pick made total sense, but there were a few spots in there that needed some work. It was a great DVD, but the list was for sure incorrect, but you certainly cannot please everyone. I just looked at it as mini documentaries on each wrestler, not a countdown to the greatest. It helped me not get so upset, like Ange did.

  5. dt says:

the dvd is a low seller, nobody likes where wwe ranked the wrestlers, nothing new here

Kurt should just get the hell over himself, hes really getting annoying by this point..starting to sound like Matt Hardy dude lol

  7. Ricky Schmidt says:

Honestly, Kurt should be thankful he’s even on the DVD and I’m glad it took him eight months to react to this. Wonder if he’ll say his account got “hacked” like he did after WrestleMania?

  8. SCSA says:

And why did Rey make the Top 10???

  9. Alan says:

Angle should at least be Top 10. He should ignore the rankings anyway, based on Hogan’s position. I’m no Hulk fan – far from it – but if he’s not in the Top 10, you know there’s a problem.

I don’t really get the point of the 2011 annual. These DVDs are already available, and with superior packaging. And why April 2011 in the UK only? How does that tie in with 2010 compilations? Doesn’t make any sense to me.

  10. Manny says:

I think Kurt should be #2

  11. Bill says:

The way Kurt has been lately I could care less what he thinks about a DVD
