The cover artwork for “Eric Bischoff: Sports Entertainment’s Most Controversial Figure” was revealed last month. However, we’ve just received word that it’s about to change!
It’s speculated that WWE were not happy with how it turned out so are going “back to the drawing board”. Below is a look again at the original artwork we have now. The Eric Bischoff DVD/Blu-ray will release in June worldwide; it’s up for pre-order here in the US and here in the UK.
An update to the cover should be unveiled this week or next – we’ll keep you posted.
“NXT Greatest Matches Vol. 1” released earlier this week… to great demand!
Amazon.com ran out of stock of the DVD and Blu-ray multiple times this week and currently has both of them on back-order. Customers are therefore experiencing a delay with their order.
Need it now? Both DVD and Blu-ray versions of “NXT Greatest Matches” are in stock with no delay here on WWEShop.com as of writing, for those still yet to pick up a copy.
Also released alongside the new NXT DVD was “Back to the Territories – Destination: AWA”.
The Kayfabe Commentaries series made its return with host Jim Cornette who is this time joined by special guest Greg Gagne to tell the story of the American Wrestling Association.

Lord knows WWE have annoyed me with an infinite number of their decisions over the years, but I actually applaud them for this one. No disrespect to the artists as I can see that their intentions were good, but it’s a classic case of over-thinking things and trying too hard, and as one reader said on another article the other day, getting too “cute” with it.
Even if they’re going for the newspaper idea, they could have made it look more authentic and distressed, with some text behind the photos for some kinda faux-news column about Bischoff (like the Guns N’ Roses ‘GnR Lies’ or John Lennon’s ‘Some Time in NYC’ covers). The first thing I thought when I saw the cover was how odd it is to have that main picture of Bischoff standing, then have that small picture of his head right next to it. It’s so awkward.
I think a black and white photo of Bischoff’s face with the title above would be all that’s needed. Think the ‘nWo Revolution’ cover, or the WWE-produced ECW themed releases. All simple, yet effective.
I would have preferred Razor/Bigelow from Coliseum Video 1994 and Austin/Hall from the 4/8/02 Raw to these choices. Maybe if there is a The Kliq Rules Vol.2 we will get them and the SummerSlam 95 ladder match everyone wants.
Wow, that’s really cool that Hall & Nash had a pre-Outsiders, pre-WWF tag team match together! I had no idea. Love finding that kind of stuff on the DVD releases.
Sorry but that WMX ladder match is the most over exposed/re-released match in their DVD vault. Hell, it’s on the Kliq DVD that came out around a year ago that Hall was heavily featured on while their other SummerSlam has only been released once going on almost a decade ago. That would have been a better choice here.
Also WWE kills me with their DVD covers, they don’t like the “newspaper” cover playing off him being controversial but had no issues with not having any WCW talents/images on their WCW related sets (Top 50 & Monday Night Wars). To quote Mean Gene, “Gimmie A Break!”
I think it’s more a case that the ‘Mania X ladder match should not have been released on loads of other sets (random match compilations, etc.), but it absolutely should be part of both a Shawn Michaels or a Scott Hall set. I think it certainly needs to be on this set since it is the defining moment of Scott Hall’s career. And know, I don’t think it should have been the hard-camera version either as the commentary is needed to get over what a big match it was for both guys in this context.
I agree with dp…give me a break already…the first monday night wars cover was decent enough but the second one wtf know your role with only the rock on the front part…smh…and dont even get me started on the omg vol2 top 50 wcw moments cover…
The 95 summerslam match probably won’t be on this set cause he lost the match
That is stupid, he has matches that he lost on this set
well that 1 guy got his wm 10 match aka ITS ON LIKE 25422543534 other dvds lol 😛 !!
as far as the hall bam bam match ehh they could of just skipped it and added the tag match from superbrawl mask vs hair but they never show rey unmasked yet he is on the network so… O.o!!!!
so far pretty good dvd yet as far as summerslam 95 ladder match why does that one get ignored so much?? its only been on the ladder match vol 1 and that might be it?? Its such a underrated ladder match in my and maybe few others oppions
They showed rey mysterio unmasked on the Kevin Nash vs Jeff Jarrett match from The Best of The Great American Bash set
ohhh but i mean like in a match they have never released anything pre 99 00 01 wcw rey unmasked that was 1st big moment really
Not sure why it’s a big moment. Mysterio doesn’t wanna remember it and plus, he looked like a 12 year old without a mask on.
Does anyone know why bestbuy.com has the sting bluray and danial bryan among others listed for 34.99 saying they are new with a release date of 2-26 are these special editions
The bam bam bigelow ladder match was on the best of WCW nitro – volume two.
Too bad about that, I hate the repeats.
The idea of WWE changing the Bischoff artwork because they’re not happy with it seems pretty laughable considering some of the shit they’ve put out over the years.
It is just really stupid
Hahahahaha
Apparently the SummerSlam 95 ladder match has never taken place according to the people who put together these WWE DVD matches.
The Wrestlemania X ladder match now just comes off so over rated with it being on so many WWE releases over the past 10 years. I actually skip over that match now when it appears, since I felt I have seen it so many unneeded times.
Considering its a DVD on Scott Hall/Razor Ramon and he won the IC title at WMX in MSG it makes sense to include it.
Not everyone buys every single WWE DVD/Blu-ray released (except if you’re Gemini888)
Actually Ramon went into Mania 10 as champion. The title wasn’t vacant. I’m surprised that it’s not the hard camera version of this match.
The SummerSlam 95 Ladder Match is on the 1st Ladder Match DVD that WWE put out in 2007.
that might be only dvd set its on well that and the summerslam anthology set but thats it
Not that excited about todays matches. The WM X match just had to be included, didn’t it? I like the match, just annoying it has to be included on so many DVD sets.
its like when they release a undertaker set or mankind or kane they just have to have the wm 14 match or the inferno match or as far as taker foley the hell in a cell match from 98
they never released the survivor series 96 one on a dvd so eh wwe and repeats what are you gonna do
All right! Another Outsiders match 😉
YES! WM X! FINALLY! YES! YES! YES!
IT IS THE GREATEST MATCH I’M SO HAPPYYYY
Now you can shut the hell up about it!
Don’t tell me what to do!
