Latest Plans for ‘Undertaker: The Streak’ Box Set, Bruno Sammartino WWE DVD in 2016?

WWE Undertaker The Streak 21-1 DVD - Coffin Box Sets

Exactly 4 weeks today the “Undertaker: The Streak 21-1 (R.I.P Edition)” DVD will be here!

As reported, WWE will be releasing this one as a special coffin box set right in time for Christmas. We now have a few more details about its packaging to share with you today.

There will not be “digipak” style packaging for the DVD inside the coffin, instead the purple lining inside (shown again below) looks to hold the discs so the coffin itself acts as a DVD case.

No standalone release of “The Streak 21-1” without the coffin is currently planned.

Though not yet finalized, has learned that the packaging may differ slightly for the UK and the US. Current plans for the UK version are to have an outer cardboard box around the product featuring artwork and a perspex window to see through to the coffin.

The US version may be released simply as the coffin itself in protective wrapping with a cardboard band around it featuring artwork and of course some promotion of the box set’s contents.

As for the DVD – every match of Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak, supposedly all unedited!

News making the rounds this month via the Wrestling Observer Radio is that WWE may have a Bruno Sammartino DVD/documentary in the works, after Bruno himself revealed that he sat down with WWE to film extensive interview footage over the course of several days.

That footage could very well show up in future WWE DVDs, it could be used for a future WWE Network special on his life and career, however we can confirm that unfortunately as of right now a Bruno Sammartino DVD/Blu-ray set is NOT on the 2016 WWE Home Video schedule.

WWE Interviewing Bruno Sammartino - DVD Set or WWE Network have today added the Hell in a Cell 2015 DVD for UK pre-order and announced that any fans buying with them will receive a free, limited edition A4 mini event poster.

Following the recent trend, they will also be offering an exclusive version that comes bundled with a full size event poster. Hell in a Cell will also be available on Blu-ray format in the UK.

Not a complaint here. But I’m curious as to why the Taker set isn’t on Bluray. I know the previous Streak set was on bluray. But didn’t that get a DVD release also? If not, maybe that’s why? O maybe they’re saving all of Taker’s WM matches to be part of the accompanying features when the long awaited Taker doc is released probably after he retires and/or gets in the HOF?

I hope to see a Bruno doc soon. No problem if it was a Network special that eventually got extended for a bluray release like The Shield, Warrior and if I am not mistaken, the Daniel Bryan docs were.

  2. Foley is Good says:

Not to interested in the Undertaker set. Hopefully a Bruno set becomes reality. Not sure how much of Bruno’s early career has survived as releaseable content maybe that is the problem with a home video release. And while he was before my time I am interested in his life and career some younger fans may find old school wrestling slow and boring.

  3. Lawrence says:

Hopefully a Bruno set becomes a reality. I’d love to see that and I’d buy one for sure.

  4. RabidHeat says:

The matches themselves may be unedited, but I guarantee “Rollin’ ” ain’t gonna be on there.

    • attitude.era.4life says:

or the awesome Johnny Cash and Metallica songs, that were so huge part of the storyline for WM 27.

    • koberulz says:

Why not? It’s on the Network.

      • David says:

I believe there are different copyright laws for music used in home video and streaming where you pay a fee to access content.

      • attitude.era.4life says:

“For whom the bell tolls” and “Ain’t no grave” are intact on the Network version of HHH vs Undertaker WM 27? 🙂

        • CMW says:

What about the hanging of the Big Bossman after the WM 15 match? Has that part been shown on the network, or on any DVD releases?

          • LP1 says:

The Bossman angle at Mania 15 is shown in full on the Network. The “Rollin” theme song is also in tact on the Network. The Johnny Cash & Metallica songs are not on the Network. It comes down to how much WWE is willing to pay for certain song rights. For example, Metallica song rights are ridiculously expensive.

            • attitude.era.4life says:

Kind of makes sense: Cash and Metallica are household names and gurus in their respective music genres.. Limp Bizkit, surely is a big name, but no way near the 2 others..

Still incredible disappointment for me to learn, that WM 27 yet again is altered.. but thanks for info.. 🙂

        • Truthteller says:

          No. Not at all.
