Crown Jewel 2023 – December 18th, 2023
All are scheduled to be single-disc DVD releases, with the exception of Crown Jewel which is currently pencilled in as a 2-disc set.
Payback 2023 has working cover artwork now, which may or may not change nearer to the release, but for now looks like this:
“Season’s Beatings” is a Christmas-themed title that first appeared on the WWE Network.
According to WWE Network News, this special ran approx. 3 hours and would feature 17 matches and moments from the years 1985 through 2019, hosted by Matt Camp of WWE’s The Bump. It’s likely the DVD has this same content, but we’ll confirm soon.
AEW have announced they will release the original All In event (from 2018) on DVD and Blu-ray this fall. It’s noteworthy for a few reasons, such as this being the first time AEW have released anything on Blu-ray format.
The first All In wasn’t technically an AEW event (though it inspired the launch of the company) — Ring of Honor produced the All In event, so it was part of the ROH library, and as you may know AEW purchased ROH this year, with All In included as part of that sale.
The new release also comes at a time when AEW DVDs have been on hold, with no new releases for quite some time.
Pre-orders are said to be available only until this Wednesday (September 6th) and presumably the release date won’t be long after. The DVD or Blu-ray can be purchased at ShopAEW.com. Try out promo codes “ALLOUT” or “LABORDAY” at checkout for a 20% discount.
For anyone wondering about what the pre-order deadline meant for the All In PPV release, it’s officially delisted from Shop AEW now. I don’t know this for fact, but it’s probably safe to assume they’ll only produce the number of copies of however many people ordered it.
I think you are right BAS but there may be a small number realeased for the UK market based on what has happened in the past. I wonder what the cuts-editing like? apparently it not the orginal version of the show. Also it depends on what the company who prints the DVDS operates as I cant believe they will print the exact number of pre-orders. most companies would print to the nearest thousand I would think
On WWE dvd uk website it says the pre-order of summerslam 2023 is sold out. I never seen that happen before. Those of us who want the luxury product that is the DVD better go ALL IN on ordering every realease from now on.
I would say that AEW are not going to do DVDS as a priority unless someone comes to them and offers them money to do it for them. I surprised no one done that in UK considering that it is the place where you can still buy wwe dvds and they do well compared to usa. If only clear vision had nt had gone under. they may have done this.
I will be buying payback on dvd. and summerslam on blu ray.
i got a question. why has aew stopped selling dvds? cause its been about a year or so since they have updated there aewshop and they only ever keep 2 in stock. all out 2021 and full gear 2021?
like randomly they just stopped having them in stock? i am just curious if anyone knew why cause 2022 is when i started really buying aew dvds and on ebay they go for insane prices
I believe they might have used the ROH DVD model from years ago where they produce a set number and once they sell out, they don’t get reprinted and are OOP. Impact Wrestling looks like they do the same as they only have the last 3-4 PPVs and everything else is sold out.
I believe the last event they had was Double or Nothing 2022 and that is sold out and nothing has been released since.
Probably not cost efficient to keep reprinting. Also I read AEW are looking to shop around their library on a streaming platforms – rumors are on MAX as its owned by WBD. I think once All Out and Full Gear 2021 are sold out, that would be it. Makes sense why they only allowed up to Sept 6 to pre-order All In 2018, as those are the amount of copies they are going to produce to fulfill the preorders.
well thats interesting i never knew that. yeah cause like sometimes u will see them on ebay and just depends on that seller.
like i saw double or nothing 2022 copy new go for like 1,200 i said WAAHHO MAN NO!!!
thats crazy, and it does suck cause i would like to get 2023 and 2022 insted of
finding burned copys which are still good but still. so thank u again for the info and yeah i got my my copy of all in 2018 preordered last night xD
The news I’m waiting on is if dvds/blu rays will continue next year in the states.
It’s sad how uncertain WWE DVDS now are in places like the States. God hope they still continue them on.
I now wonder if Payback will be 2 discs since it ran close to 3 1/2 hours, unless it gets condensed a little bit by removing and any sponsors they showed in between?
I wish WWE would start releasing more Unreleased sets again with Unreleased matches & segments from TV tapings.
Where can I get a VHS/Tagged Classics version of this stuff it looking awesome!
