Match Listing & Artwork for ‘Best of WWE Main Event’ DVD (WWE Magazine Exclusive)

June 24, 2014 by Daniel Bee

Last month we revealed a “Best of WWE Main Event” DVD in the works for release, speculated to be exclusive to the United Kingdom as a UK WWE Magazine bonus item.

WWE Magazine with Free Best of Main Event DVD

That’s exactly what it turned out to be, as you can see pictured above! The July issue of the UK magazine officially goes on sale today for £4.99, available through newsagents and selected supermarkets (we’re told the best bet is WHSmith High Street/Travel and ASDA).

The title of the DVD is “The Best of WWE Main Event – Number 1” and we can confirm that this is the first volume in a series of Main Event DVDs. There are currently plans for another three of them to be cover mounted on the magazine throughout the rest of the year.

As mentioned, this is a UK exclusive but check below for your chance to win a copy in our WORLDWIDE giveaway! We’ve received a handful of them to give away to WDN readers.

I am selling some of these myself on ebay if anyone wants one

Daniel, exactly how many of these are you guys giving away?

  3. Justin F says:

I absolutely hate WWE’s favoritism towards the UK. They get the Blu-Rays and they get things like these that should be available in the US.

    • ekkoes4life says:

I totally agree with you..and I’m on the other side of the table, as I’m an European.. the RAW 20 box was announced to be released in UK/Europe as Bluray..but this time we overseas were screwed.. but, I do not either understand the mindset of the WWE sometimes.. the RAW box set was excused with the high costs it would be producing it for outside US market.. well.. I still believe, they would make hell of a lot money on the box, let alone a Bluray edition would be smashing.

I find it hard to believe, that the excuse for not releasing this Main Event series, is production costs.. so, I guess it is because of the Network. But, then you actually gonna pay for the same product over and over, again and again..as, with a DVD or Bluray..you pay for it once..and it is yours to watch for no further expenses.

      • SRB says:

Why do they do this if the company is technically American? Their owners are American along with their home base and offices. As much as they tour, they primarily host shows in the USA. Doesn’t make much sense. The video world is bigger in the UK?

        • ekkoes4life says:

I am glad, I got the complete Tagged Classics collectionfrom Silvervision along with the Antholology editions of the Big Four. Sure.. it is not HD..and sometimes very cropped in picture..I can live with that though, knowing that these days the mentally of WWE is, that they cut their own product trying to alter their own history, for the poor sake of what’s “best for busines”

    • Daniel Bee says:

If you’re a serious enough WWE DVD collector (not saying I am so special or that my collecting is) you can buy them from any country and play them with relative ease. When there were Blu-rays only being released in certain countries (WWE ones or otherwise) I made sure to get a multi-region Blu-ray player one Christmas. It didn’t break the bank.

For DVDs, like this Main Event one, it’s even easier/cheaper, so you don’t really have to put up with the limits. It’s also fun to import and hunt down exclusives (at least for me over the years). Give it a go 🙂

An eBay seller is already selling these Main Event DVDs to US/worldwide buyers:

      • ekkoes4life says:

I understand what you saying, Daniel.. only.. duty and other horrible costs can get the un out of collecting.. I have in my collection 709 discs, a mix of Bluray and DVD’s.. some bought second hand, most bougt from new.. but I never imported, cos it would cost me too much to import to Denmark where I live.

        • ekkoes4life says:

it should say: get the Fun out.. if you get it.. 😉

          • SRB says:

Who has the Tagged Classics if I don’t want to go the Amazon route? Shipping and the conversion rate are a bit too expensive. I don’t want to do Ebay or Amazon. Is there any company that will ship to the USA?

      • Lee Hayman says:

I agree. I Live in the uK and recently managed to find the RAW 20 set. Owning it while knowing it was never released here is pretty cool. The region coding doesn’t bother me either. All I have to do is connect m laptop to my TV with a HDMI cable and

  4. Joshua says:

If we’re already signed up for email notifications, are we already entered into the contest?

  5. ekkoes4life says:

Liberate DVD/Bluray regions.. screw the different coding systems!

Now, I do not intend to be a Lemon.. but, should I by any weird chance be one that wins this in the email contest, please draw another lucky name, cos I’m honestly not interesting in this. 🙂

  6. King1111 says:

I seriously never got why that idiot Cena is in WWE. He wears jean shorts and sneakers in the ring. Real wrestlers wear tights and wrestling boots. IMO John Cena represents everything wrong with Professional Wrestling today. He’s the reason I stopped watching

    • SRB says:

Cena doesn’t choose his in-ring attire.

    • ekkoes4life says:

I am far from being a fan of Cena…but, the man is far from being an idiot..if nothing else, then I firmly believe, that he draws attention to wrestling..for the most, it is good for the survival of this “game”.

I do not dig the “fruity pebble” style..but, I respect and accept the fact, that Cena is here to stay..and I believe by heart, he stays unless he is terminated. Also.. he have and have had excellent matches.. Punk.. Bryan.. Iron match with Orton.. Brock Lesnar..

Think what you think about the man, but he works his ass even if he is the star..

  7. LP1 says:

Doesn’t look like Fremantle is involved with the Main Event DVD. Is this a region-free DVD?

    • David says:

Might be similar to the Kofi Kingston DVD that was WWE Magazine UK exclusive few years back. It was region free but in PAL format so your TV or DVD/Blu-ray would need to accept PAL signal.
