Should have added matches with him and Christian and gangrel as the brood edge vs Kurt angle 2001 king of the ring finals edge vs Christian ladder match no mercy 2001 or steel cage match rebellion 2001 edge vs Kurt angle smackdown 2002 edge vs Eddie guerrero summer slam 2002 edge vs Brock lesnar and Paul heyman handicap match for the wwe championship rebellion 2002
I mean Bloodbath:the best of steel cages matches DVD Set I mean
sorry for the typo.
This set is not worth getting skip this and buy wcwbocotc you don’t
really need this as apart of your collection. If your not a fan
of Edge then dont bother lots of his other matches are on the ladder
match volume 1 and the Kurt Angle cage match with him is on the
bloodbath steel cage match.
If you own the decade of decadence dvd then theres really no reason to buy the dvd just for the matches. If the documentary is good I might consider getting it
this dvd sucks balls
@Anonymous (below): Not rare at all – it’s already on the Raw 15th Anniversary set.
I THINK THE MATCHES LOOK GOOD AND IT’S COOL TO SEE HIS SECOND STREET FIGHT WITH SHAWN MICHAELS. A VERY RARE MATCH. CAN’T WAIT FOR THIS ONE.
@anonymous – most of them have been? atleast 7/8 of them have been released on compilation sets already…
If you hate the match listing, buy his other DVD. Stop bitching.
I think it’s a GOD SEND that they didn’t put ANOTHER copy of a tag TLC match on.
Do we need another Wrestlemania X7 TLC copy?
Most of these have not been released on ANY OTHER SET (not including PPV DVDs).
I’ve always wanted a documentary on Edge and his first DVD didn’t have one so I’m pretty excited to get this.
the match listing sucks
WWE should habe done a DVD about Christian instead. This one sucks!
BOOOOO! This was the set I was most looking forward too outside of Punk’s, because Edge – at least originally – had control of what was going to be on here. Well…it seems to be a LOT of repeats w/ a heavy focus on the Doc being the REAL draw, I think this is the future for ALL WWE “Superstar” DVD’s going forward, decent-great Doc w/ mediocre/repeat matches. I was thinking at least 3-5 gems would end up making the cut, I certainly thought that some of his stuff as Damon Striker in WCW would make it, I seem to remember him having at least one pretty decent match on WCW Saturday Night or Pro. I also thought the Global Warning Tour match agains Jericho would be here…Edge must have a pretty good library of RAW/Smackdown stuff thats unreleased…I was REALLY hoping to see some of Edge when he was part of the Smackdown 6 & his amazing yr. in 2006. Also…still no Rated RKO…WHY!?
Have all the matches basically, mostly getting for the documentary which should be really good.
*own* i mean
sucks….other than disc 1 i won 85% of everything else
That’s a pretty good temporary cover, to be honest! I’m guessing the logo text will stay the same on the final version as was the case with their temp Shawn/Bret cover but we’ll see. Looking forward to the documentary on this as I’m sure most people are.
@ Steve
You can import the Blu-rays that are not released in North American from Amazon UK starting from Summerslam 2011 onwards. Silver Vision have made them region free so they will play on any region A player.
And LOL at people whining about Blu-ray exclusives…how many times will this be said, WWE will put Blu-ray extras to increase sales for that format, it’s simple…it’s not only WWE, but ALL movie studios stack the Blu-rays with more features than DVD…you don’t like it, tough luck…get use to DVDs getting shorter and shorter in terms of content as Blu-ray grows.
@straightedge47: I’m pretty sure the Edge-Kane-Mysterio-Del Rio ladder match is not on the Ladder Match 2 set. The others you’re right on.
It’s not exactly the greatest set released, but there are some gems. Looking forward to seeing the doc and the South Indian Lake match. There are a bunch of repeats, as mentioned, but as far as timeline of previous releases, this isn’t that bad, as a lot of the repeats were on sets released quite a while ago (some as long as 5 years ago). I’m relieved that the match with Orton is not the Vengeance match, as I feared it was when I skimmed through the list initially.
The doc is the only thing that really stands out since I allready own most of those matches on DVD. The question is whether or not a doc alone is worth $20.
Looks like my trend of buying mostly PPV DVDs other than the special sets will continue.
That sucks. Whats with all these crappy releases? Well atleast we still have the indies. PWG!
To everyone complaining about Blu Ray extras SHUT UP!!! We have to pay extra for them. WWE could fit the Blu Ray extras on DVD but they should add even more for Blu Ray a 2 disc Blu Ray can have much more than 8 hours.
dont get it why everybody’s mad at this but if you listen to edge’s interview last month he said that he is picking matches but wwe wanted him to include the ones that are not 20 minute long
I agree with most that the listing is pretty weak and I agree with putting the WM matches on all these DVD’s; it’s a complete waste. The fact that they only fill 9 hours of a DVD with 7.5 is beyond me. I have jumped to the dark side and now buy the Blu Rays and my problem has been with them not putting all there PPV’s in that format. WWE home video has become just as bad as there current product. They don’t go the extra mile with these releases at all and they continue to have revisionist history. And I’m sure the greatest rivalaries will be Austin-Rock which will have there WM matches on DVD for the 57th time. Edge is the man but that is a shit match listing; in there defense however there is another set on him that does cover a lot.
Yea I agree what about the Brood in Adam Book the Brood was a big part of his life and even Lita talks about it on the video we saw of her .There are so many great matches that need to be on her and why do we have to have another Undertaker Vs Edge match on her I mean quit milking the WM already we are all sick of it and why not put these on the dvd Edge Announces His Retirement
Raw – 11th April, 2011
Edge Appreciation Night
After the Show – 13th September, 2011
That BULLSHIT I mean lets remember before there was blue ray there was dvd WWE I just don;t get it a big disappoint for sure and I was looking for forward on getting this on the first day well maybe I will wait now .The matches SUCK
Where the F**K is his HOF induction????
They could hav waited & released this DVD after a month from his HOF…
What a stinker, they are skipping a sh*t load.
the great american bash 08 match with hhh would have been great.the smackdown mathes with cm punk and john morrison would be fine.the wwe has released almost everything besides the 3rd and 4rth volumes of the survivor series and a in your house dvd set.repeated matches will happen and yes it sucks.the raw volumes 3 and 4 would be something new and continue the set to the present.a smackdown volumes set could happen in the futur maybe.the wcw video library is what the wwe should visit and release at least two wcw themed dvd sets a year.the wwe should due a survey with the wwe dvd news readers for match listings. just my opinion.hope the wcw clash of champions dvd will make us happy.
appreciation night on the blu ray? WTF? this is bullshit…stop stacking the blu rays with extras WWE…FUCK!
Yea I know the matches don’t look great at all but this one I will buy for the Doc which I hope is amazing .I have the first Edge dvd so I have to get this one .Not sure if I will get it on blue ray though depends on the price .
i’m disappointed with the latest match listings for this dvd set as well and the latest stone cold and upcoming dwayne johnson sets too. wwe creative better step up and give us a great list of matches for the best of wcw’s clash of the champions otherwise i aint purchasing anymore dvds in the future.
My only hope is that it is different than his first set. That was a pretty encompassing 3-Disc Set.
I’m not a big Edge fan, but he was a gud wrestler. Although they shoud hav added a match frm his time with The Brood/The Ministry (Gangrel, Christian, Undertaker, etc). Also his tag-team victory match w/Christian at WM17. I WAS ALSO HOPING 2C THE MATCH HE ATTENDED AS A KID! – Ultimate Warrior Vs Hulk Hogan – WM6 perhaps as a Blu-Ray extra 🙁
This looks like its gonna suck
Lots of problems with this set
.Hardly any “Moments” they could have put lots of Edge’s tag team stuff there was some very funny promos and his single run in 2002 and then there could have been LOADS of heel promos from 2005-2009. Hope Edge gets another set like Austins full of moments.
.Not much in terms of Blu ray extras… Not much at all.
.Repeats of matches.
Guess there will be a 3rd set full of unreleased matches and moments.
12-13 matches only for blu-ray? thats a load of crock. Edge’s first dvd set had twice as many more matches. Half the matches on here are repeats. I’m not getting this set anymore. I’ll just borrow the dvd from a friend and copy the documentary …
As for the matches … I would replace his TLC match with his Last Man Standing Match from Backlash 2009, His royal rumble win in 2010, and a match he had with Chris Jericho in 2010.
I wish WWE can put together more matches and a decent/good match list. The match listings they’ve provided lately is just a slap in the face.
@Geolink: Does the massive ‘TEMPORARY COVER ART’ notice under the cover not give you at least an inkling?
That artwork kind of sucks.
@straightedge47.. wow, i had no clue it was that bad. thanks for posting. WWE seems to really be focusing on the documentaries lately and picking random matches without any rhyme or reason, same with The Rock DVD. its a shame they need to release WCW dvds for me to actually want to buy one
Well the fact is that they already covered the bulk of his career with his last 3 disc set. Its really got to be about the documentary telling his story now that he has retired. But honetsly I would have thought they could have come up with something better match wise. In that respect I can only call this a disappointment.
@ mindi
vs. Eddie Guerrero was on the Best of Smackdown 3 disk set and Eddie Guerrero’s Viva La Raza
Vs. Matt Hardy is on the first Ladder match 3 disk set
vs. John Cena is on John Cena: My Life and Ladder Match sets
vs. Shawn Michaels is on the Best of RAW 3 disk set
vs. Undertaker is on the 50 Greatest Superstars
vs.Christian is on Best of RAW 2010
vs. Kane, Mysterio and Del Rio is on the Blu Ray of Ladder Match 2
Elimination Chamber match is on Best PPV Matches 2011
My thought’s are this, The artwork is good, Documentary looks good, Match listing looks absolutely horrible. COME ON NOW! I already had a feeling that this set was gonna feature mostly repeat matches and only 6hrs. and 45 minutes for the entire DVD. WWE should have just made it a 2 disc DVD set with that runtime.
Well, the documentary looks good.
Saw the first match listed, thought the selections were going to follow his entire career, but it skipped like 6 years. What about his Brood days?
To clarify, it’s not necessarily a lot of repeats. It’s more that we get 13 matches (on bluray) and I can spot 3 repeats just glancing (could be more). Plus there’s a lot of retread matches (i.e. Edge’s last set had a different Raw street fight with HBK).
Here’s an interesting comparison: Jericho’s dvd had a documentary on disc one, but still managed to get 19 matches on the other two discs, PLUS both his debut and return in WWE. Hell, disc 2 alone has 11 matches! That’s one less than this whole Edge set (comparing dvd to dvd). And don’t even get me started on the special features. If that’s not proof that the E is screwing fans with these miniscule listings, idk what is.
can somebody post all the repeat matches and what dvd set(s) there on, just trying to see how many of these matches i already have
Just glancing at this I can see a lot of repeats. Normally I’m not bothered by this but COME ON! If this is the definitive Edge collection, give us something most of us don’t have. They can’t use the argument of only giving us his best matches because they avoided the early ladder matches. It seems like any time they have a documentary on a guy the match list is short and riddled with repeats (Rock’s new set anyone?). The sad part is this will sell like hot cakes and they will continue stiffing us in future releases. I’m now a bit worried about the Clash of Champions set. They’ll give us 12 matches and laugh all the way to the damn bank.
@SRB: The Smackdown retirement/celebration is on the Raw/SD 2011 set, but not the first (and IMO legitimate) retirement speech from Raw. That was a shocking moment, and told from the heart. By the time SD aired, it was almost old news (in today’s Twitter-crazed era). I was on the specific lookout for the Raw segment as I was disappointed at its omission in the aforementioned Raw/SD set.
I was always fan of Edge and his classic promo’s with Christian are classic, they should’ve included his mixed tag match with Sable against Mark Mero and Jackie because it was like the first time we knew who Edge was.
at this point I dare them to make a good DVD…
Horrible!
Would have been cool if they included Edge’s WCW matches vs Meng. Or any of Edge & Christian’s tag team title victories that were not a ladder match.
@Simon wasn’t the retirement just on the Raw/SD 4 disc?
I was a bit surprised seeing they put in both the 4-Way TLC Match AND the WrestleMania Match, let alone the Elimination Chamber. Why did WWE put his retirement speech and Edge Appreciation night as Blu-Ray extras? Why not put them on DVD also?
can somebody post all the repeats and list what dvd set they were on, just curious how many matches of these i have already
I think this is a poor match selection for a great wrestler. Bitterly disappointing. But the doc might be good.
I’ll be buying this for the documentary and the Retirement Announcement on Raw (which hasn’t previously appeared on DVD/Blu Ray), so that was enough to get my custom. However, the match listing is a tad uninspiring. I’m probably in the minority in that I actually liked the amount of promos/segments on the recent Steve Austin set, and they could’ve attempted the same here. Some of Edge’s most entertaining moments were out of the ring – especially the skits with Christian in 2000-01. It’s a shame they’re not represented (other than probable highlights in the documentary itself). The final four matches on Disc 3 are pretty dreary, and aren’t what I think of when I think of Edge’s career. But still, it looks okay.
At only 6 hours 45 minutes and with all those repeats it seems pretty disappointing, The documentary should be great but the matches are a bit of a let down… :/
Looks great, good selection of matches and the doc will be must watch!
Ahh quite a bit of repeats
Holy repeats. I’ll be picking this set up regardless.
Wow, this has to be the first time we get the content before the artwork. On to the content, I am actually very surprised that we didn’t get the typical triangle tag ladder matches and am glad to say we didnt. Glad to see some raw matches here. but again were looking at lack of content. This DVD is rumored to be under 7 hours as well. For the first time I’m not too sure what to make of just the printed content. This is one I’ll have to see first to make any judgment. Glad it isn’t filled with all PPV matches though
Match listing is pretty short, and Blu-ray exclusives are pretty disappointing…was expecting few more matches.
