I JUST GOT IT!!! Justin Credible = JUST INCREDIBLE
This set is an insta-buy for me. Been a big fan of his since his debut. Also, for me, the match listing is pretty great. I only own a couple of these matches(CM Punk vs Y2J at Mania, and Punk vs John Cena). yea, they could’ve included his title win from survivor series, but I have that event on dvd, what I think should’ve been a no-brainer was TLC match with Miz and ADR from TLC 2011, that was a fun match.
Will the original pipe bomb promo be included anywhere on here? How about any more of his promos from last summer?
The match listing is disappointing as I already own 3/4 of them but definitely a pick up for me just for the doc that I can’t wait to see! I wish matches like vs. JBL (Summerslam 2008), vs. HHH (Smackdown 2010), and vs. Ziggler (Raw 2011) but still gonna pick it up without a doubt.
I wanted to see him match with batsata in there and his one with JBL from summerslam. it does suck that there’s no ROH matchs in there. If they went the same route that and made a deal like they did with new japan for chris benoits dvd. it would have been more better. The one match they would have been cool to see would be the 3 way Punk had with Rey and Eddy in 02. But Rey didn’t have his mask on at that time.
Should have included: vs. HHH (Smackdown ’10), vs. Orton (Raw ’11), JBL (Summerslam ’08), vs. ADR (Survivor Series ’11), vs. Morrison vs. Miz (Survivor Series ’07), vs. Ziggler (Raw ’11), vs. Bryan (Raw ’12), & vs. Jericho (Extreme Rules ’12)
I’d have thought that a main event match against Undertaker being included would make him look more big-time, but maybe they haven’t put them on because it accentuates the fact that his first big push kinda failed. I’m sure it’ll get mentioned in the documentary though.
WISH THEY WOULD HAD HIS LAST MAN STANDING MATCH VS RANDY ORTON, CAN’T WAIT FOR THIS DVD. STILL A MUST BUY FOR ME.
Was hoping they would include his matches with Daniel Bryan from Jan 30/2012 RAW and from Super Smackdown in Feb. But i guess those will be on Best of RAW and Smackdown 2012 DVD and Blu-ray next year.
Documentary and special features look great. They basically included majority of his big-time matches in WWE and WWECW. Kind of surprised the cash in on Edge is not on it. I remember i marked out hard when he came out – great moment!
Everything looks great and definite must buy on Blu-ray for me.
This is becoming a great year for WWE DVDs.
Anyone else notice that this now confirms before year’s end, all three of the big WM28 matches will be on other comps?
Couldn’t “Backyard Fame” be in reference to starting out within the state of Illinois (his backyard) rather than specifically meaning backyard wrestling – especially as the following chapter is titled “Taking to the Road”?
I think that Money in the bank match from Mania 24 is on the Ladder Match 2 Crash and Burn which was a great set. This might be a front runner for DVD of the year.
Actually Ladder Match 2 only has WM23 and WM25 Money in the Bank Ladder matches.
The WM24 Ladder Match is on The True Story of Wrestlemania Blu-Ray.
Exactly what did i say lol sed it was n the true story of mania blu ray as a exclusive the mitb 24 match 🙂
My bad man, I got my Mania’s mixed up but thanks for correcting me. The best money in the bank match was WrestleMania 23 Jeff Hardy’s legdrop on Edge just amazing.
It’s crazy how some Internet fans. I’m a fan of Punk’s and not a big fan of Cena, however, because repeat matches and not the best matches, people have slammed the budget release of Cena and the Rock/Cena DVD. The big thing for both Rock/Cena and Punk is the doc, yet, people were angry with the Rock/Cena set. It’s a double standard ‘cuz it’s Punk’. Just an observation
Match listing is decent.Glad Punk Vs Bryan from Over the Limit is on here.Would have liked to his title win over Del Rio on here. Also would of traded the Wrestlemania with Jericho and put the Extreme Rules match instead.
no undertaker match is a surprise ,smackdown match with edge could have made the liste.
YAWN!
LOL, funny that they have the “dont try this at home” bumpers then there’s a chapter called “backyard fame”
could have add his match vs alberto del rio from survivor series but still one of the best dvds this year to pick up for me.
I just wish his title win over Del Rio at last years Survivor Series was included other than that it looks good to me
Too many Blu-Ray extras. I’m not going to buy a Blu-Ray player just for those. Stick with DVD WWE.
G.Schire (The Authority)
OK, how about you buy a blu-ray player just because it’s a better format then? Also, 9 of the 12 matches on this set were shot in HD, so really need to be presented on blu to be fully appreciated.
It looks cool but I am not into CM Punk so I will pass on this one .
too bad his awesome match vs triple h is missing, but still a good dvd set. can’t wait for this one.
That match is on the WWE Best of 2011 PPV DVD.
This set looks great, the releases for this, Brock Lesnar, the nWo, and The Attitude Era can’t come fast enough
My only complaint is the blu-ray having just one bonus match. But that barely even registers as a complaint. I expect this to be the new high mark for documentary style sets. Time to go pre-order this bad boy.
this dvd sounds like a winner to me i am very happy that it has the punk vs regal match from raw on it the only thing missing is when he cashed the money in the bank on edge other then that i am truly happy and cant wait for october the 9th
I’m the only person here that isn’t completely disappointed with this match listing. I would’ve actually liked for more Jeff Hardy stuff but I’m not gonna complain.
awesome match listing. pretty much every big match in Punk’s career
I don’t really see the point of people complaining about the matches on here. Are there repeats on here? Sure, but they’re Matches that stand out in his Career. I’m excited for this release, definitely a Day one pickup on Blu.
“The MAN” …lol, not quite, try main eventing a PPV first.
Disc 3 looks good, disc 2 sucks a dick. Not sure about this one.
It would help if Cena wasnt more important then the WWE title and hogging the spotlight every time. 😛
sounds like something a dumbass Cenation “Universe” “entertainment” fan would say. If Vince actually had the respect for his Wrestlers and not cater to his “entertainers”, CM Punk would get his fair chance. But no we WRESTLING fans have to watch a predictable PPV main event with a guy who looks like a giant Gumby, and we have to wait for Vince McMahon to put his balls back in his sack and really try to deliver a decent 52 week Wrestling product.
No you don’t HAVE to watch it. No-one has a gun to your head.
Yeah you are right we dont have to, but thats why Raw year after year loses viewers, and can’t seem to pass a 3.5 rating as apposed to when Vince cared more about in ring action rather than trending on twitter and Raw had 4.0 ratings. Maybe some of us are sick of the same old over bearing Cena shtick
If you are so sick of it why are you watching it? Why are you concerned about ratings? What difference does it make to you? Wrestling, like a lot of things comes in cycles. In a few years there will be boom period. Sit back and enjoy it, if you are not enjoying it, stop watching.
Stop it! Stop it you guys! (Runs upstairs and slams door)
Brilliant 🙂
Actually for your information Einstein, I dont watch regularly and stick to dvds/blurays to enjoy classic wrestling. I am just pointing out facts.. Face it, WWE ain’t changing their ways for awhile due to their marketing and public image, and for Linda’s Senate run. When they do, I’ll be watching, but until then Old School Is Still Cool!
At least we can agree on one thing Nathan Rosen, The Oddities rocked!
I think the doc will be great, but I don’t think even the Internet Wrestling Police could honestly say that match list isn’t a little diappointing. Its s shame because CM Punk is great and I really thought it would be a cracker.
I heard the Internet Wrestling Plice started their own federation. IWP will have a show this weekend at the local fairgrounds. Names included will be: Brooklyn Brawler, Luna Vachon, Matt Hardy, Jay Lethal, Greg Valentine, and Aldo Montoya among others.
Aldo Montoya is far too busy playing Justin Credible on the CM Punk DVD to do that. And Luna Vachon’s death means she is also unlikely to attend. But I’m thinking I might just show up at that IWP event and issue an open challenge….to anyone on the IWP roster who thinks they can beat me in the First Ever Internet Policeman’s Nightstick, Laptop and Box of Doughnuts on a Pole Iron Man Challenge Grudge Match Battle Royal. Who will SUUURRRRVIIIIIIIVE!!!!??
It would of been nIce to add his two MITB cash-ins against Edge and Hardy plus the first Summer of Punk ‘shoot’ promo as extras on the set. However I am glad that they added the Mysterio match from Armageddon and a tag match with Kofi.
Very pleased with amount of special features on the DVD and Blu – they got away from these ‘story’ style extras, but I’m glad they’ve gone back to them with this an the Cena/Rock set. It would of been cool of they did the Twitter ‘Ask Punk’ feature similar to the Austin set.
This is the first time I’m upset that I don’t have a Blu-Ray player to pick up the Blu-Ray. Would love to hear some of those extra stories. And I agree that the lack of promos is a bit disappointing, but at least we have the infamous one that started it all from last join on the Best of Raw/SD set.
Disappointed non of his Raw promos from last summer made the DVD
Where are his five star classics against Triple H and Kevin Nash?
Guys they put those matches in there cause they´re either his best or most important matches in WWE. Of course if you are a huge fan of his you already seen them, they are not going to put indy rare matches in there, the point of this dvd/bluray is the documental and the extras to take a closer look at CM Punk, you can get his matches anywhere else, and by the look of it they´ll have a ton of cool extras in there.
For Punk having “chosen these matches himself” I think he did a poor job. There were many more important highlights in his career than those that were chosen
it is an awesome match listing, but im kind of disappointed in it only because i already have the big ones on other releases. ill be buying regardless because punk has been one of my favorites since his ROH days and im really looking forward to the main feature!
Documentary will be great but what a shock half the matches are repeats! That never happens!
Didn’t he state ROH matches were going to be on this disc?
No, he never did. He made a comment saying that the doc would cover everything. He also said he was watching his 90 minute ladder match with Chris Hero from IWA-MS in reference to this project, which made a ton of people assume that nonWWE matches would be included.
Looks like a great set to me. No complaints here.
Matches so far that have been released on other sets as follows,
John Morrison vs CM Punk Last Chance Match from ECW in 2007
(John Morrison Rockstar DVD)
Money in the bank Ladder match Wrestlemania 28
(Wrestlemania 28 Blu-ray – Blu-ray Exclusive)
No Disqualification Match for the Intercontinental Championship
CM Punk vs. William Regal RAW 19th January, 2009
(Best of Raw 2009 DVD)
Tables, Ladders, and Chairs Match for the World Heavyweight Championship – Jeff Hardy vs. CM Punk SummerSlam 23rd August, 2009
(Best PPV Matches 2009-2010 DVD, Greatest Superstars of the 21st Century Blu-ray Exclusive)
WWE Championship Match John Cena vs. CM Punk Money in the Bank 17th July, 2011
(Best PPV Matches 2011 DVD)
I assume by Wrestlemania 28 Money in the Bank you mean Wrestlemania 24, from 2008. The match was not a Blu-Ray exclusive.
Also the Over the Limit match with Rey was on Rey’s last DVD.
Actually, all but 3 of the 12 matches are availble on DVD now.
Yes sorry i meant Wrestlemania 24 mitb match and the match was a blu-ray exclusive on the true story of wrestlemania check the listing for that 1.
The Rey vs Punk at OTL 2010 is indeed on Mysterio life of a masked man dvd!!
I don’t think because its released on (insert PPV) name dvd that counts as a repeat. It’s when it was on another wrestlers or feds dvd set. If it was on best of Raw or best of 2009 PPV, then that hardly counts as a repeat for me either. I don’t want just tv matches either. I think the listing is great.
So it only counts as a repeat if YOU have it. Ok, gotcha.
Meh, not blown away by the match listing, but still expect this to be good.
Backyard Fame lol WWE way of saying ROH is Shit haha, Never been fan of ROH but its been the home of great wrestlers who are now in their prime, punk, bryan, aj styles and samoa joe these are all great wrestlers, so i dont think they deserve to be called backyarders.
Could WWE not have come up with a better name.
Documentary looks awesome, packed special features,
Lot of people thought when cm punk tweeted that roh was going to be on the dvd he did not mean actual matches but discussions of it etc,
Only 11 matches and 1 exclusive blu-ray match ermm,
Good matches chosen but i reckon this dvd/blu-ray was done for the documentary and a 2nd compilation set is going to come out in the near future that is going to have matches Only with CM Punk.
Would have like the match with JBL from Summerslam 2008 on the set and his first MITB Cash in against Edge in 2008 i wonder if thats on the dvd does any1 know?
I do feel dvds have restricted blu-rays in terms of content as i feel since blu-rays are now more known they need to fill up 2 discs of blu-rays and have shortened the dvds or vice versa,
Great Year cant wait for best in the world bluray, attitude era bluray, bork laser bluray sorry i mean brock lesnar, once in a lifetime bluray,
Great year so far with ECW Unreleased Vol 1, clash of champions, falls count anywhere!!
Also they should have included his match against Val Venis from Sunday Night heat in 2005 or 2006 i believe, that was actually his debut match in WWE!!
“Backyard Fame” has nothing to do with ROH. Punk was a backyard wrestler when he was a kid and that’s where he came up with the name CM Punk.
The doc looks pretty awesome, but disappointed with amount of matches. All but one I already three own.
Not enough stuff from his ECW years. rest is decent, but we already have ALL this stuff.
