How is Cena vs Federline not on here?
Should have added Kurt angle big show and Brock lesnar too they had some amazing matches
I will definitely be skipping this one.
@no nope but I guess you’re the keyboard warrior bitch that defends Super Cena every chance you get.
I’m a little disappointed with the matches on this set due to a lot of them being on other dvds. I guess my main reason for buying this set would be for the last man standing match with Batista just so I’ll end up having all their matches from their 2010 feud on dvd.
I think this listing is amazing. The way the Leviathan match is placed for the Batista rivalry is great. Pretty sure the Punk matches could have been added to the DVD without fault, since they’ve cut DVDs short since about 2011. I love how most rivalries have one PPV match & one Smackdown or RAW match, makes this set worth the money. The inclusion of the 2014 Cena/Orton match is great, as many sets rarely (besides the Best Of series) place matches from that year on the set. I will definitely be getting this set to add to the collection.
I personally think the matchlist of this set is excellent. I’m not a huge Cena fan, but this could be a hidden gem this year.
i believe they should do a greatest cena rivarlies part 2 next year and add in the rest of his rivarlies that they didnt put in this one espically with big show kane etc.
I think the first Eddie Guerrero match should’ve been replaced with the backlash 2003 match against Brock instead.
I think the Eddie Guererro match fits perfectly as being in the ring with a veteran like Eddie, Cena learned a lot. But you’re right. Cena’s matches with Lesnar at Backlash 2003 and Extreme Rules 2012 should have been included. His smack down matches in SMackdown 2003 and Smackdown 2004 with Taker along with his No Mercy 2003 match with Kurt Angle also should have been included as blu ray exclusives.
I’ve seen WWE blu ray exclusives include more than just two matches.
I don’t like how the matches skip around. I want to watch in chronological order.
But they don’t skip around. They’re in chronological order of rivalry, not overall chronology. What would be the point of having all the matches in chronological order and not in the order of the rivalry? It would just be a set of mixed matches. The set focuses on rivalries and as such, it showcases 2 matches per rivalry. It’s perfect the way it is (minus the JBL matches, in my opinion, ’cause I can’t stand hat guy).
Think I’ll pass on this one. The listing’s okay, but at the same time it feels lacking.
The Running time on the Blu-ray Extras is only 50mins what the hell is this, Blu-ray extras are usually 1hr 20mins-1hr 30mins, why have they cut it so short, easily 1 more rivalry would have been included but they choose to short change, no real reason to get the blu-ray version, The CM punk vs John Cena Match from Raw is on the Best of Raw 2009 DVD but here it will be presented in 16:9 widescreen that other was in 4:3, The CM Punk vs John Cena match from Raw in 2013 is on 2 other Sets, Best of Raw and Smackdown 2013 DVD/Blu-ray, History of WWE 50 Years DVD/Blu-ray which im sure loads of people will have the History of WWE set so what is the point other than better picture quality (matches that were shot in hd) and sound quality, this is abs ridiculous!!
Not a bad list.
However I would have replaced his match with JBL at WM21 with the one at Judgment Day 2005 but i guess they wanted to include his first WWE title win so its really only there for historic purposes because that match was terrible.
I got conformation that all Matches featured on this set particuly the TV matches from Raw will be the full matches i.e any action that took place during the commercial break the action will be included on this set similar to CM Punk DVD/Blu-ray set, So his match with Shawn Michaels from Raw in 2007 will be in Full as is the Match with CM Punk from Raw in 2013, Moments that took place on the WWE App will be included in that match, Can you gather any more information and you yourself confirm this this DB, Thanks!!
Thats great news. Surprised WWE don’t do this often with the DVD releases. I remember New and Improved DX was like that and the Iron Man with Lesnar/Angle was the FULL match on couple releases, no commercial breaks.
I’m not sure where you had this confirmed, but based on the run times which I have the Shawn Michaels match runs for 46m 10s (which is only 1m 37s longer than the version which appeared on the 2007 Heartbreak and Triumph DVD). The CM Punk match runs for 27m 44s on here and this appears to be the television version (it’s actually 11 seconds shorter than the version on The History of WWE). I believe the complete version of that match is in excess of 32 minutes.
However what should be considered is that the Shawn Michaels match was from a taped edition of RAW so it may not necessarily be the case that there were several 3+ minutes of action missed because of commercials, but in all likelihood the Punk match is the same version we’ve seen previously.
The only thing that is bothering me is the lack of blu ray exclusives. Only two extra matches?
Interesting format. They chose two matches for each of Cena’s “greatest rivalries”. But predictably, that leaves out a ton of other matches and opponents that could have been used.
I could nitpick this thing to hell… but I’m generally happy with it.
Okay, I will nitpick… here are some matches I wanted to see!
vs. Chris Jericho – SummerSlam 2005
vs. Shawn Michaels – WrestleMania 23
vs. JBL (Parking Lot Brawl) – Great American Bash 2008
vs. Randy Orton (Iron Man Match) – Bragging Rights 2009
also some extras
vs. Umaga (Last Man Standing) – Royal Rumble 2007
vs. Alberto Del Rio (Last Man Standing) – Vengeance 2011
vs. Brock Lesnar – Extreme Rules 2012
Haters are gonna hate, as they say, but this set looks very good, in my opinion. I like Cena but am not a huge fan of his, but the matches and rivalries covered here are great. I love that they avoided a couple of matches that have already been put out to death on DVDs. Nice to see two matches for each rivalry. And who cares if the Punk matches are only on the Blu-ray; that’s the whole point. If you’re gonna buy it, BUY THE BLU-RAY!!! We’re lucky to have them at all considering Punk’s relationship with WWE right now. I’m seriously thinking about getting this.
I really love that picture of Cena eating HBK’s shoe.
The 1-hour Broadway with HBK is on here, but no TLC match with Edge (Unforgiven 06), Iron Man Match with Orton (Bragging Rights 09), and the feud with Punk, including their awesome Night of Champions 2012 match, deserves to be on here as a regular feature and not a blu ray extra.
Countless other great matches missing. Definitely a pass for me.
since the (expected and predicted) lack of the Iron Man match vs Orton I am definitely burying this set.
The only good I see coming out of this set is the remaining hope that particulare Iron man match might make it on either:
– a Bluray edition of Bragging Rights 2009 ppv
– a complete collection of Iron man matches on Bluray
– or the match could be part of a Falls count anyway.. vol. 2 Bluray release.
I would’nt mind all three concepts to be released.
Not too bad imo. sry guys
Hey, what’s up with using my name to post on here??
Huh..who r u??
I’ve been using TheManInBlu pretty much everywhere online for 6 years now. So you use that screen name too then? Funny coincidence if that’s the case. I came up with it because of the Blu-ray format on the Blu-ray.com forums and thought it would be a cool name to use…
Is this call auditory hallucination or something. Seek professional help, mate.
If there is a dvd to pass on this year, this would be it. I would rather buy the History of the WCW Hardcore Championship. Hosted by Norman Smiley.
So you’re a little bitch that always cries TEH CENA IS KILLING MY RASTLIN.
Dunno if its a set to pass on as im not such a big Cena fan, though the matches do look awesome. If I did buy it, it would only be to watch the Vs Shawn Michaels mathes mainly❗️
Although a ‘Greatest Rivlary’ set should have been like the previous set of ‘Bret Hart Vs Shawn Michaels’‼️
I was hoping that, they’d make something like ‘Austin Vs Rock’ or ‘Undertaker Vs Michaels’
Definitely a set to pass on. Almost everything on this is on other DVDs. Not to mention, his feud with Punk (arguably his greatest feud next to Edge) isn’t even on DVD, just Blu-Ray extras, which is a slap to the face. Waste of a DVD.
