  1. James says:

I just ordered the DVD today and I like that there aren’t many repeats. I have 2 other WWE released WCW DVDs and the matches on this are good.

  2. Ultra Cosmic says:

This DVD is fairly good, but I see it has almost nothing from the 1994 to 1995 period. Superbrawl 4 teaming with Randy Savage, Spring Stampede and Slamboree matches against Rude and Vader, facing Big Bubba Rogers, multiple rematches against Vader, Sting & Luger’s 1996 tag team run against Harlem Heat, Road Warriors and Ric Flair/The Giant. There’s enough material for a full DVD, just 3 hours of 18-19 matches for a Volume 2 Collection.

    • James says:

The thing that most people don’t realize is that not all DVDs don’t have to be ppv matches. Where else will you find Sting and Randy Savage vs The Nasty Boys? Those rare tv matches make a DVD like this a must have.

  3. CLEVELAND Bates says:

It great DVD I want see sting win the us title for first time sting dvd should be 4 dish dvd but it great dvd I would . Give a 10

  4. TestLive says:

    Not gonna lie… pumped!

  5. Anan says:

Great list. But I can’t believe they left out Sting vs Bret Hart from Halloween Havoc 1998, Sting vs Goldberg from Nitro in 1998 and Sting vs DDP from Nitro in 1999. All three were way better in terms of match quality over Sting vs Hogan from Starrcade 97.

  6. Stingfan says:

So It’s not gonna be a straight bio 45min – 2 hr bio then matches?

  7. Go blonde or go home says:

Oh ya I wouldn’t mind him coming back to wrestle, I thought he was actually better in the later years of WCW I just think there were others that were better than him

  8. David Wells says:

i’m huge sting fan,he was one of my favortie wrestlers of all time,he did good in wcw & tna,now he is in wwe, can’t wait to get the dvd, also action figure & wwe 2k15 game of him,he is in it,i hope he returns in the ring to face undertaker at wrestlemania 31 in 2015

  9. Go blonde or go home says:

I’m just not a huge sting fan so i am letting this one pass

  10. CMW says:

I wouldn’t mind seeing more 1995 PPV matches: Sting vs Big Bubba (Slamborree 1995), Randy Savage/Sting vs Avalanche/Big Bubba (SuperBrawl 5), Sting vs Kensuke Sasaki (Starrcade 1995), Sting vs Meng (either Great American Bash 1995 or their Bash at the Beach 1995)

  11. M says:

I hope they include the segment when Sting takes on the NWO after they destroy all the Sting clones.

  12. colin v. says:

Here’s what I think two of the Blu-ray exclusives might be…

    Vs. Scott Hall (Uncensored ’98)

Vs. Hulk Hogan (Fall Brawl ’99)

  13. Lemo says:

Hopefully Sting vs Regal is a blu ray exclusive.

  14. colin v says:

YES! this match listing is great! we’re getting mostly unreleased footage, I love all the Nitro, Thunder, Sat.Night stuff on here, glad we’re getting the Flair match from Nitro, Nov 1995, and the Arn Anderson match, those are nice inclusions. It’s about time WWE really dug into their massive vault, they really put some real effort into this one. Can’t wait to see what the Blu-ray extras are gonna be.

    • David says:

Actually looking forward to what the Blu-ray Exclusives will be. I think they might add couple more PPV matches like with Goldberg and Lex Luger since none of their matches are on the main feature, which is quite surprising.

  15. BJ says:

Hope this Dvd/Blu Ray has sting’s crow promos and segments. That is what made the crow character.

  16. Micah Ferrin says:

Definitley a day-one buy for me. Would love to see some TNA footage, but highly unlikely. You can’t forget what he did there and WWE can’t ignore what he did there as well. Would it be a contractual thing?

    • Erik says:

There’s absolutely no way that WWE could have put any TNA footage on this upcoming Sting DVD and Blu-Ray release because WWE doesn’t own the rights to any TNA footage. Only TNA owns TNA footage. TNA would have sued WWE if WWE had put any TNA footage on it.

  17. Newton says:

we got some thunder and sat night matches! yay!

  18. Wonderllama says:

Wow… only one match with Vader. And it’s not even a PPV match. It’s a TV match!

On the bright side, you could always see PPVs on WWE Network. It seems like the Network is clearly having an effect on what is collected now

    • David says:

Thats the way it really should be. Lot of people here mention why buy something they already own or have access to?

Having rare TV matches that probably won’t be released on the Network anytime soon and the only way of watching these is getting bootlegs off ioffer or traders in terrible 10th generation quality.

I haven’t seen about 70% of these matches since WCW (besides Nitro, Thunder and Saturday Night in the later years) never use to air in my area, so it will be quite the treat watching majority of these for the first time.

      • Anonymous says:

“Lot of people here mention why buy something they already own”
-Exactly! And, that’s precisely the reason why this one is among the best WWE DVD releases in a long, long time.

With that said, I’m still hoping the following unreleased Sting PPV/Clash matches make the next set:
        Clash 3- vs. Windham
        Clash 8- w/Flair vs. Muta/Slater
        Havoc 1990- vs. Sid
        Starrcade 1990- vs. Black Scorpion
        Clash 21- vs. Rude
        SuperBrawl II- vs. Luger
Beach Blast- w/ Bulldog vs. Sid/Vader
        Fall Brawl 1994- vs. Vader
Havoc 1995- with Flair vs. Anderson/Pillman
        World War 3- vs. Flair
Starrcade 1995- vs. Luger vs. Flair
        Bash 1996- vs. Regal
        Bash 1998- vs. Giant
        Uncensored 2000- vs. Luger

Finding another 10 or 12 unreleased TV classics wouldn’t be altogether that difficult and would make for another great Sting set.

  19. LP1 says:

I found out long ago that it is impossible to make everyone happy. Absolutely impossible.

Some will want nothing but PPV matches while others will want nothing but TV matches. Some prefer more matches and less segments while others prefer more segments and less matches. Some want nothing but unreleased matches while others want nothing but the most popular matches. Some prefer more interviews with wrestlers talking about their careers while others prefer no talking at all. And then there’s those that prefer a good mix of all of the above.

The best thing WWE could do is what they feel is best for the majority of fans, because there will always be a miniority that will never be happy.

    • Simon says:

just because you like to buy all wwe dvds doesn’t mean the rest of us should. this is sting dvd – it makes sense to include his biggest matches, not rare throw away matches. most of those can be left for a second dvd. its like wwe releasing a Ted DiBiase dvd without his biggest matches but a bunch of rare matches instead.

      • David says:

If you want his bigger matches buy the other WCW releases, so at least WWE can warrant to release more WCW DVDs if people buy them.

I guarantee if WWE put nothing but his big PPV matches and very few Nitro, Thunder, Saturday Night, Main Event, etc that are unreleased people will rage around here about repeats, repeats and more repeats.

They have few of his big PPV matches which is fine since those were a given. Also this isn’t the first Sting DVD WWE will release, i’m sure they will release another one in the future, depending how well this sells.

As LP1 said, you can’t make everyone happy…if this list actually disappoints you, well then too bad.

        • Simon says:

dude, its called an ‘ultimate collection’ so it has to feature his biggest matches of his career. since this set mainly filled with matches not released before its more of an “unreleased matches” set …. there’s nothing ultimate about it. and besides, some of the other wcw sets weren’t so good to pick up to keep.

  20. Jammer says:

Once again, we lose a lot of great matches to see because Vince doesn’t wanna pay for Jesse Ventura’s commentary.

Sting vs. Lex Luger for the WCW Title from Super Brawl 2
Sting vs. Vader in the strap match from Super Brawl 3

Those two matches would have put this DVD set over the top! But no can do because of Jesse Ventura doing the commentary.

    • Simon says:

where does it say there’s no jesse ventura commentary? the ultimate warrior dvd/bluray included it so whos to say it wont be included here?

      • Jammer says:

Because none of the matches that are listed have Jesse doing commentary on them. There is not one PPV from 1992 or 1993 on that list. That was when Jesse did the commentary for those few years.

Warrior had Jesse Ventura on it because of the amount of matches that were on the DVD that had Jesse on it. SummerSlam 89, Wrestlemania VI, SNME show, Superstars of Wrestling stuff, so they had to include Jesse on that.

  21. Richard W says:

I’m thinking that Sting premieres on RAW either the week before or the night after Summerslam, if not on Summerslam itself, to really start hyping up the network and the beginnings towards planning out WM 31

  22. RCS1988 says:

Sting vs. Stunning Steve Austin WCW Pro Wrestling • January 8, 1994

This is actually their match from WCW Saturday Night January 1, 1994, but the reason why they are doing the Pro version is because it doesn’t have Ventura doing commentary, so instead of having the Saturday Night version with Schavonie commentary and no Ventura commentary, they picked the Pro version.

  23. R&REXPRESS#1 says:

Hot damn this is great!!! My excitement for this set was already off the chart but now it’s really boiling over….. The only thing I’d have done differently would be to include the match from SuperBrawl 2 where he beat Luger for his 2nd world title, I was hoping that one would be included & it should have been but hey , I guess we can’t have it all…..this is a definite 1st day buy for me AAAAOOWWWWWWW!!!!!!

  24. Brad Attitude says:

Seems like a lot of throw away matches from the 80s era. Was expecting more big matches. Still undecided since there’s no stuff featuring his feud with Csctus Jack or his alliance with Hot Stuff International Inc from his UWF days.

  25. Steven Jackson says:

    This looks ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!

I cannot wait to check this DVD out. A must buy for me!

I feel like I am seven years old again!!!

    STING AND MUTA!!!
    STING AND MUTA!!!
STING AND THE GREAT MUTA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =D

  26. Anonymous says:

    Now this is AWESOME!

This is almost a perfect release. The only changes I’d make would be to take out the Sting/Warrior match and replace it with the Sting/Warrior tag match against Dibiase/Williams. Instead of the November 1995 Nitro match, it would have also been nice to get the Flair/Sting matches from World Wide February 1988, WCW Saturday Night August 1993, World War 3 1995, and Nitro from April 1999.

Nevertheless, this is probably the best release in years for these matches alone:
-Ric Flair vs. Sting NWA Pro Wrestling • January 2, 1988
-Sting vs. Mike Rotundo WCW World Championship Wrestling • April 1, 1989

-Sting vs. Ron Simmons WCW Power Hour • August 18, 1989

-Sting vs. Great Muta WCW Power Hour • September 1, 1989

-Sting vs. Dutch Mantel Main Event • September 2, 1990 (assuming it’s all there)

-Sting & The Great Muta vs. Steiners WCW/New Japan Supershow II • January 4 1992

    – Sting vs. Van Vader WCW WorldWide • February 9, 1992

-Sting, Barry Windham, Ricky Steamboat & Dustin Rhodes vs. The Dangerous Alliance (Rick Rude, Larry Zbyszko, Arn Anderson & Bobby Eaton) WCW • February 22, 1992

-Sting vs. Barry Windham WCW Saturday Night • February 6, 1993

-Sting vs. Stunning Steve Austin WCW Pro Wrestling • January 8, 1994

-Viewers Choice Match Sting vs. Ric Flair WCW Nitro • November 6, 1995

-Sting vs. Arn Anderson WCW Nitro • July 8, 1996

-Sting & The Warrior vs. Bret “Hitman” Hart & Hollywood Hogan WCW Nitro • October 12, 1998

-Sting vs. “Macho Man” Randy Savage WCW Nitro • June 7, 1999

    – Booker T vs. Sting WCW Nitro • July 31, 2000

-Best 2 out of 3 Falls Match Sting vs. Jeff Jarrett WCW Thunder • September 13, 2000

    I can’t wait!

  27. Mr Hesse says:

“Too bad I won’t buy it because it’s a WWE release.” – IWC Smarks

  28. Mr Hesse says:

Just shut up and take my money.

  29. miz4life says:

Well, this is interesting. There is a lot that I like & dislike about this. The match with Muta vs. Steiners is a huge plus. I see they left off a lot of good stuff. Superbrawl 3 vs. Vader, no matches with Rude? or Cactus or even the few decent ones against Sid. Would’ve liked Superbrawl 2 vs Luger & the classic nitro match with DDP is not here? Oh well, I am a Sting fan so I’ll pick it up, they also left out that part between 2001-2014 where nothing at all seemed to happen…

  30. Cody Schields says:

A Thunder match on this set! To my knowledge that’s only the 2nd or 3rd Thunder match on a DVD

  31. John Peterson says:

The Match listing is excellent.Lots of unreleased matches.Glad they didn’t decide to fill it up with PPV Matches.Surprised they didn’t put his match with Flair from the first Clash of the Champions since its the match that made him a star. But excellent set nonetheless and can’t wait to pick it up.

  32. bord stevens says:

Pretty excited for this set. Most matches are unreleased and that’s great. They only focus on Flair & Muta as repeats but that is fine with me. I cant believe they left his Rude/Sid feud off of this one. I hope they are blu ray extras.

    • Steven Jackson says:

Actually Sting vs. Muta is not a repeat. The two Sting and Muta matches which have been released are from:

Great American Bash 1989 and the Japan Supershow from 1992

So the match on this set is unreleased as far as I am aware.

      • TheManInBlu says:

You’re forgetting the Sting VS Muta Ironman Single’s Tournament match from Starrcade on the Starrcade 3-Disc set 🙂 I have that one on DVD.

  33. SRB says:

MUST BUY!!! The inclusion of the Muta stuff is great. The final Nitro match is also great. 32 matches so far even before the exclusives. Release of the year written all over it!

  34. Tommy D says:

Honestly, this disc is one of the best that they have released. Everyone says how they hate repeats, less than 15% of this is repeated. These are some rare TV Matches that we probably won’t see anywhere else. This is fantastic. I can’t wait!

    • David says:

I agree. People say how they don’t want PPV matches and matches that were released on previous sets. This hardly has any repeats, only the ones that made an impact on his career.

Glad they didn’t include the first CoC match since that would have taken up a least an hour and that was already on the Clash DVD and of course on the Network.

Its nice to see WCW Pro, Power Hour, Saturday Night and Main Event matches.

      • Tommy D says:

I know. The WCW Pro, Power Hour, Thunder Matches you probably aren’t going to get elsewhere unless they are bootlegs. I for one am extremely happy with this and the OMG set.

  35. richie Colombo II says:

I’m a huge sting fan I’m so buying this it has the match sting fought Austin starrcade 97 & when he won the world title all I can say is #yesyesyes

  36. Stu says:

This is a bizarre match listing. Why would an “Ultimate Collection” have a 90 second tv squash v DDP?

  37. Markus says:

This sounds great. Many tv matches and this could be great with the “new” matches.

  38. attitude.era.4life says:

tons of tv matches.. I am still not decided yet, if I will get this.. not the hugest Sting fan, but respect the importance he has (had) to wrestling.

    I will go through my wcw releases to see how much I already own, cos Steve Borden eventually talking bout the matches isn’t that important for me.. it didn’t work for me with the Warrior set,;

and I like the style of sets better, like Goldberg and Brock Lesnar releases, where matches and segmenst for the most are non-interrupted.

  39. bigcal says:

Honestly, I wasn’t expecting the Sting set to be any good. But this is worse than I thought lol.

That being said, they put that ONE sodding match on it that makes me actually wanna buy the Bluray When it’s cheap. Damn that 2/22/92 8 man tag being so fecking awesome!!!

    • David says:

People are never satisfied. They could have fill this entire set with matches we seen thousand times and on dozen others DVD sets. They actually went pretty deep and included rarities with minimal repeats.
