The Rock & The Undertaker vs. Mankind & Stone Cold Steve Austin
Raw – Dec 7, 1998: i just realized King and Cole are on commentary yet King and JR are sitting at the table

  2. Jared C. says:

Looks interesting except for the fact that most attitude era fans, including myself, have already probably seen at least half of the segments/matches. However I would still enjoy taking a trip down memory lane. I am looking forward to watching the classic 6-man cell match.

  3. Anonymous says:

no rock bottom striptease match with debra

  4. Be says:

Totally bs nothing at all about HBK. To make it worse there is no matches featuring I was looking forward to it but now I don’t care about it at all

    • Steven says:

I know, I figured they would have the time DX was searching for Undertaker in the hurse and those hot women jumped out of it and JR said well obviously Undertaker is not in the hurse, they could’ve thrown in an HBK match from 97 or 98.

  5. Paul says:

Awesome just ordered the best best exclusive version and blu ray version. Obviously im looking forward to it!!

  6. Chris Jones says:

I am gonna see how this gets reviewed as well. I’ve seen this back then when i was in high school multiple times live and on tape then, and then most other popular segments 1000 times again. The matches they picked aren’t all that, or I have them on other DVDs or tapes. Oh Dr. Death and Bart Gunn. This DVD looks eh fair. From the shitty artwork to average matches, I think I will wait and see or maybe rent it from my local video store.
Besides the best stuff happened in 1997 that i remember being like wow I can’t bevieve that happened. It too bad none of that hart foundation, nation, DX, stuff is on there. Attitude really started with hart in the cage match where he flipped out cursing vince. Not a year later. (I mean at least they got this right on that new nintendo game it looks like, they have the bluw and yellow logos, and the old mats 97 and ring fences from 97/98. So anyway might be neat for my son, but not for me or other grown ups who seen this already a million times. I can use $20 for something better.

    • Anonymous says:

I was in high school back then too, and I agree about 1997 being better than people realize. Remember that not everyone taped everything, I personally never taped stuff. Your whole tone of “adults should have better things to do” really annoys me. Why would kids want this? They werent even around for this.

  7. te says:

Wait… This isn’t available in the UK?!

  8. keith says:

Is the best buy exclusive on the blu ray? or is it just the dvd cause on there website it just available to buy on dvd please help

  9. Aaron says:

Ill probably buy this Blu Ray because the Attitude Era is my favourite era in Wrestling and I wouldnt mind seeing a few of those moments and matches unblurred

  10. nightmare says:

Because Harry Faversham it give me an idea on this set and so I don’t have to waste money on something that I won’t enjoy I don’t buy these to collect I buy them to watch .That’s why the review is so important .

  11. tom says:

    this looks very disappointing.
    i’ll be skipping this set.

  12. Sean Tait says:

Looks great 🙂 can’t wait to get it in DVD.

  13. SledgeHammer1999 says:

So, is the Best Buy Exclusive confirmed or do we know yet?!

  14. nightmare says:

I am going to wait for the review here the matches seem really weak but I am curious about the Doc though .

    • Harry Faversham says:

Why is the reviewer’s opinion good as gold? Think for yourself man.

    • AJ says:

Now the third time you’ve said you’re not impressed, not buying or waiting til it’s reviewed. We get it. You don’t like any DVD WWE is putting out. People don’t realize they weren’t going to be too many matches on this set that would live up the hype. Even the matches people really wanted weren’t that great. The ironman match wasn’t a realistic possibility and the WM 2000 match was good, but not great. I’d go so far to say the PG Era has brought us better matches than the Attitude Era.

  15. The 6 Man Hell in a Cell? Unblurred??
SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!!

  16. Beerad30 says:

Any chance this goes on sale for Black Friday, also what is the best place to rack up WWE DVDS on sale for Black Friday

    • AJ says:

Since it comes out Tuesday, I doubt you’ll find it on a discounted price by Friday. I’ve never seen WWE DVDs go on sale for Black Friday

      • Beerad30 says:

yeah true the only WWE DVD I saw on sale last year was John Cena Word Life for 5 bucks at Best Buy and i passed on it, maybe WWE SHOP will have a sale, still picking this up, love wrestling, but this is when wrestling was really cool

  17. Dave says:

I read on another message board that stores have gotten copies and there was a sticker on the box saying “TV-14”. So for you little kids that were crying this would be PG can sleep easy.

I feel it doesn’t make a difference, but lot of people here complain about DVDs being “PG”. People just throw that around when they don’t even know what it means.

  18. Scott says:

Well at least its not all the same crap they have pounded us over the head with for years now. We’ve seen Austin and his various antics with motor vehicles plenty of times. And that 6 man Hell in the Cell being on there is nice as well.

  19. Tony Kegger says:

I think this DVD should have had more Attitude Era type matches. Not one single mud bath divas match?

    • Mark D says:

Oh yeah that would of been cool, like the Four-Corners Evening Gown in a Pool Match or the Lumberjill Snow Bunny Match – both true classics (of that era). The Good Housekeeping match with Chyna & Jarrett would have been an interesting choice as well.

    • John says:

If you want a mud bath divas match, you can get the Trish Status DVD

  20. The Top Rope says:

I will buy this for the documentary but the matches and segments aren’t as good as i thought that they might have been.Lots of these segments are available on the Raw 15th and Smackdown 10th Anniversary sets!

  21. Thomas Goodearl says:

If a UK/ Europe Distributer isn’t named I will have to get my Blu-Ray’s from Australia!

  22. Steven says:

One moment/match I figured for sure that would make this list, is the DX vs LOD match from Raw December 1997, DX and The New Age Outlaws shaved Hawk and Animal’s Mohawk and hair.

    • Anonymous says:

That is on The Monday Night War. Maybe, since WWE is in the mood for re-releases, we could get an update of that like we got of nWo and Brock Lesnar. If not, hopefully on Volume 2. That was a big moment.

  23. Jesus Lopez says:

It all seems pretty safe as far material goes. And matches could have been so much better (much of them have already been released, seems like). They might as well stamp this release PG. At the end of the day, I am a fan of this era, so I will pick it up.

    • Dooookie says:

LOL what makes it PG?? The set is labeled 14, and will have all kinds of DX stuff and Sable stuff that def cant be on a PG dvd.

  24. Maple Leaf says:

    Well said Jason.

There’s a guy by the name of DAVE here thats one of those people you’re referring to.

  25. JasonGoldsmith says:

Hmmmm–did the baby not get what he wanted? Clever
It’s just that I know good wrestling compared to you kids today who only what’s good when Vinnie Mac tells you what’s good and the biggest percentage of what the E puts out is not good.
But Vinnie will keep cranking it out and you will like it because he tells you to like it.

    • wrestlingfan says:

Yes I think the puppet master is playing with the marks. Lets re release match ten times and make people pay for it. You will eat it and like it!!

    • Dooookie says:

There are tons of new releases on here, what the hell are you talking about? Armageddon Hell in a Cell, Rikishi and Val from when Rikishi does a Snuka splash, etc. You’re just never happy are you hahaha

      • Brad Attitude says:

the 6 man armageddon hell in a cell was already on the hell in the call anthology dvd set.

many of the segments and other matches have been repeated on other previous sets as well. too many to name but the bottom line is some of the content are double dipped again.

  26. Simon says:

I would have love to see some 1997 contents matches.. Got all the WWE Tagged Classics and I don’t mind they haven’t put the rock vs hhh iron man match. I would have love more matches from Raw Is War 97-98-99 since I wasn’t a great fan of the 2000’s, anyway I’m still happy with this release, i’m grabbing the blu-ray version for sure!! Only 1 week left 🙂

  27. Steve G says:

This is a good release but it could have been great! Enough with the repeats! Give us PPV matches like Y2J-Triple H-Fully Loaded! Rock-Triple H-Iron Man match-Undertaker-Shamrock-Backlash ’99-Triple H vs. XPac Backlash 99!!!

    • Dave says:

Shamrock vs. Taker from Backlash 99 was a great underrated match that really showed Taker’s wrestling skills…was pretty cool seeing Taker pull out submission moves and Shamrock of course was very underrated and was over as hell, especially in 98.

Since the Best of IYH is coming out next year, its possible it could be included…technically Backlash 1999 was the last IYH ppv to carry the “In Your House” banner.

The Iron man with Rock/HHH and LMS with Jericho are probably being saved for the 3 disc HHH DVD next year.

    • Simmons says:

You tell em! X-Pac’s Backlash match is a must!

PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFT HAHAHA such smarky smart mark tarts

  28. m.blier says:

maybe wwe dvd news com could do a survey poll with its readers on what matches that`s never been released one time from any wwe ,wcw, ecw , tv or ppv evnts that they would like to see in a futur release.then send the poll survey to wwe directley.just a thought.

  29. Marty says:

This set almost feels like one of the TV sets they do, where there’s a lot of forgotten stuff released that it feels very hodge-podgey, but I do expect that since they’re trying to release new stuff and not repeated stuff. And there’s not too much repeated stuff either. (I don’t count the SummerSlam 98 and 99 matches because they were only released on the SS Anthology and never on other sets, so I figure only a select few have them.) This is a set that doesn’t necessarily look great on paper, but I think some of the forgotten items could surprise.

I also think that the late announcement of the box art and contents could help sales here. Often at times, a set’s artwork and contents would get announced about two months before it gets released, and afterwards would get forgotten by casual fans (the video diehards won’t forget, of course). This is different here. Everything gets announced, and the set’s out next week! It’ll be fresher in people’s minds and may drive them to purchase it. Who knows?

  30. Gabriel says:

At this point I’m pretty satisfied with the set. It’s pretty good, and the fact that Austin/Taker is on it is awesome. However, that does not mean in any way that this dvd doesn’t have its good share of flaws and stuff missing. What I would of loved on this set would of been The Hardyz vs the Dudleyz from the Royal Rumble in 2000. That was a great match that really hasn’t been released on any compilation dvd’s. Another great thing that should of been on the set would of been Mae Young getting powerbomed through the table by the Dudleyz. Just for an old lady to take a bump like that takes guts. Two more should of been “The Greater Power Revealed,” and when I say that, I would like the whole segment, including the aftermath when it’s revealed that Austin becomes the CEO of the company. One other one would have to be the FULL “Rock this is Your Life” segment. Just a classic with the Rock’s one liners. The last one that I ask for (and I know this has been shown on about 20 million wwe dvd’s now) would of been Mankind winning the title. The only reason is because of how much of a big night this was for the wwe, and the background surronding it should make it one of the all time classics that helped Define the attitude era. That’s all I really have to say, other than that. Not too much of a bad set.

  31. Jonathan M says:

Well one thing great things came out what i wanted, and that’s Stone Cold Steve Austin vs The Undertaker from June 28, 1999 where Austin regains the WWE championship the night the after the King of the Ring. Now i can relive the moment again when i was happy austin regain the championship for the the 4th time and made my night. Yeah i wish their were other matches they could have included. But hey most of the matches they have on here that i have on my collection Video times during those days record Raw every monday night during the attitude era but the not the whole show though. I only record that involved my favorites, like Stone Cold, The Rock, Undertaker ,Triple and others. This should a great DVD for the holidays

  32. nightmare says:

I’ll wait for a review on this one so far the set ok but what about having The Brood on them huh .I mean nobody to this day could top there entrance when they all came up threw the fire and Gangrel music and the blood bath gimmick hell I would have paid over the price to have all those match and segments on here .

  33. Steven Jackson says:

This set is ok. I personally would have preferred some matches from 1997 (as there is some bonus features from 1997) and early 2001 but it is ok. I am pleased about Owen Hart being included in the set so hopefully he will return to some more new releases too (most notably Bret’s Unreleased Set) =) I would have really wanted the HHH vs. Jericho: Last Man Standing match from Fully Loaded 2000 on this set, but I luckily have it on Tagged Classics. Not a instant purchase but maybe in the future if it comes cheap.

  34. JasonGoldsmith says:

They should have put the taker vs foley from kotr too–there might be 10 people who don’t own that match yet

  35. JasonGoldsmith says:

With this crapper and the rock vs Cena set the WWE has me actually passing on DVD releases now–keep up the good work vinnie Mac–you “sports entertainment” genius.

    • Vincenzzzzzo says:

Awww, did the baby not get what he wanted? Did the match listing not live up to your “Fantasy Concept”? LOL

  36. Best in the World says:

I wonder during the DX part of the documentary will they show all the moments of DX in the Attitude Era because Shawn Michaels was the reason WWF/E went into the Attitude Era not Stone Cold.

  37. Anonymous says:

will the specal features from best buy also be on the bl ray disc from best buy ?

    • Dave says:

No, the Best Buy exclusives are only on the DVD just like the previous two releases – Best of Clash and Top 50 Finishers.

I don’t mind store exclusives, but these should also be on the Blu-ray version too if buying from Best Buy. I know when movie studios have Best Buy or Walmart exclusives they have the bonus content on both versions if buying from that store.

Ah well, can’t have them all…still picking up the Blu-ray.

  38. SRB says:

The Rock & Mankind vs. The Undertaker & Big Show
    SmackDown! – Sept 9, 1999

Stone Cold & Jim Ross vs. Triple H & Chyna
    Raw – Oct 11, 1999

Had no clue these even existed…

  39. Harry Faversham says:

Today marks the last ever DVD to be released by Silver Vision. I’m so glad Silver Vision’s last DVD was nWo and not this! The best part for me is the Owen Hart matches. I loved his brief tag team with The Rock. But definitely not worried about missing out on this one. I do hope the UK distribution is sorted soon though.

  40. Anonymous says:

Val Venis vs Rikishi in a cage is a untalked about classic! Rikishi jumping off the cage is crazy glad they put it on here.

    • miz4life says:

That cage match was very underrated. I couldnt believe they took a mid card feud like that & made it red hot. great stuff.

  41. Scsa says:

I was expecting much more from the content though its not what I was expecting! The fact that Silvervision wont be selling ne more new sets, Im not so bothered now either cos I was upset that I wouldnt get my hands on the Attitude blu-ray! But now I can c that 40-50 % of it is just a waist!

  42. KarlKayfabian says:

Jericho and Dudleyz vs Angle, Edge, Christian—-Before they were Superstars (2?)

  43. Steve213 says:

So repeats looks like we’ll have…

    1. Shamrock vs. Owen hart – Summerslam 98
    2. Rock vs. Mankind – Survivor Series 98 (Is this also on one of the Rock’s DVDs?)
    3. Beer Bath – Raw 15
    4. Y2J debut – Raw 15
    5. Dlo vs. Jeff – Summerslam 1999
    6. Big Boss Man shows Sympathy – Raw 15
    7. TLC –Summerslam 2000 & The Ladder Match
    8. HIAC – Hell in a Cell DVD set

    Did I miss anything?

  44. zach says:

mankind and rock vs taker and big show buried alive! now its a must must buy

  45. Anonymous says:

the mach on this dvd sick

  46. Joe says:

My thoughts on this DVD are this. Im pretty much 50/50 on this set. The things I like is that most of the content on here has not been released yet on DVD, which is always a plus, and there is alot of content on here. Again there are some repeat matches/moments and I am a little upset that it only goes up to 2000. I also like how alot of the stuff is from Raw/Smackdown. I was afraid that most of the DVD would’ve been PPV matches. Now I know alot of people are complaining about major key moments that aren’t included on here. If they were you would be complaining about how it’s the same stuff on evey DVD. Im glad they didnt put alot of the Austin/Mcmahon stuff on here cause it’s been on a ton of other DVD’s already, plus with the Raw 100 moments DVD out next month, you’re gonna see all the same stuff on that one too. Looking at the documentary chapters my guess is that it’s gonna be like the nWo doc. and only run about an hour. Anyway that’s my opinion on the set and I will get it next week, plus it will have NO BLURR!!

  47. Steve says:

Way to go 5 repeats on disc 3! Put a few more Summerslam and Survivor Series matches on a set when we have anthologies of both. Not to mention the TLC match is on about 7 different sets.

  48. Mark D says:

Lets face it WWE were never going to get this set to match everyone’s expectations, and anyone expecting that was sure to be disappointed.

Are there matches and moments which people would have liked to have included which aren’t, yeah and of course. Every single person who visits this site could pick at least one moment or match they would have liked to have. Overall it’s a solid listing and does sum up the era quite nicely. And who knows if it does as well we could see additional volumes down the road (there certainly would be enough content to fill at least two more sets!).

Also let’s not forget that next month sees the release of: The 100 Greatest Moments in Raw History – and who’s to say some of the more obvious and memorable moments (i.e. the DX antics and This is your Life) were missed of The Attitude Era so that they could be included next month.

    • wrestlingfan says:

Most of these matches are available on dvd already. via tagged classics or other releases. I will wait on this until it gets marked down like the Raw set in January. WWE is like the band that releases a greatest hits records every year or every other year. They add on an unreleased song or two to the record. Same thing every year. The only new thing is the documentary

      • Dave says:

Its not WWE’s problem you collect every single WWE/F DVD ever released. You may be forgetting that most of those matches were released but were edited and blurred – minus WWF releases, and the matches on this set won’t be.

WWE is a WORLDWIDE company, they have the releases DVDs that cater to the mass market, not a certain segment that have 5 bookcases of WWE/F DVDs. There were will be repeats, no doubt.

        • wrestlingfan says:

all of the tagged classics are uncensored. problem, wwe should not be rereleasing material and upping the price. that means mark man, you are paying WWE double or triple for the same match.

      • Anonymous says:

People! Get a grip here. The Tagged Classics are ONLY AVAILABLE IN THE UK. You have to import them to get them here in the US. Most people, even diehards, aren’t willing to do that. So most of this IS original. The most important thing to remember is this is going to be bought by people who normally don’t buy these things. It will be a huge seller. Imagine if that person bought this and saw nothing but unreleased matches instead of TLC, Beer Bath, Rock vs Mankind that he was expecting. They would lose their only chance at making a new customer. As much as we complain we diehards will be here no matter what. Also, if WWE is going to do a volume 2, they can’t blow their wad on this. They need to save some big matches to advertise for next time. Balance is also important. You can’t have ALL main events. You do need midcard stuff also. The masses will buy this and we will get Volume 2 with all the big main events we want, most likely in 2014 or 2015…but WWE needs to strike while the Attitude Era iron is still hot, fans are still booing Cena, etc. As far WWE simply taking a list from “us” and putting those matches on there–once again WWE is selling to the masses not “us”. They have to consider things like if younger fans know who some of these people are (which is why Jericho, Edge, etc are on this a lot) and that many fans don’t have all of the DVD’s. We are going to get what we want eventually.

  49. Anonymous says:

hopefully the triple h vs rock ironman match and triple h vs chris jericho last man standing match will be on triple h’s dvd set next year if it still happens, other then that can’t wait for this set. glad to finally see austin vs undertaker title match.

  50. John says:

Remember the Surivor Series set is on hold because of Owen Hart footage? Yeah I do not believe that crap since Owen is on King of the Ring set and now Attitude Era set

  51. m.blier says:

the wwe failed in the match selections with chyna, venis,d lo brown, headbangers .we all want the 2000 hhh vs rock ironman match.this dvd has too much hype and look at what the wwe gives us today , a real letdown.the documentary is the only good thing with the austin vs taker match.

    • Ronnie says:

We all want the rock v HHH iron man match from judgment day 2000? Thanks for speaking on behalf of everyone. Big thanks. If you really want it, get it! Get a DVD player that plays multi region DVDs and buy the PPV on tagged classics. Problem solved. Also, ‘this DVD has had too much hype’? This has not been hyped at all from wwe, this has been hyped to hell by the IWC.

Personally, I think it is a great release.

    • Anonymous says:

The only good thing is the documentary? You haven’t even seen it yet, rube.

  52. Anonymous says:

I found another repeat. The Jericho/Dudleys vs Angle/Edge/Christian match is on “Before They Were Superstars” which came out in 2002. I really had to do some digging to find that one.

  53. indyfan says:

    *imagine

  54. indyfan says:

Id imagyne a lot of the PPV matches at the time will be on Best of IYH.

  55. Mongoose Wizard says:

Love this content, even though some are disappointed :/ Hopefully there will be a Vol.2 like the Nitro set!

    • Anonymous says:

I just thought of something. Maybe the reason we aren’t getting everything we want is that WWE is saving some big matches for Vol.2? If they just give away everything we’ll have no big matches to entice us to buy next time. So that could be it. Remember, a lot of people who buy this won’t be people who usually buy these things. It is going to sell even if people who visit this site don’t buy it.

  56. TNAJason says:

Gotta say, kinda disappointed they didn’t include Triple H vs Rock Iron Man from Judgement Day 2000 and Triple H vs Chris Jericho Last Man Standing from Fully Loaded 2000. I will still buy because I am a compilation completest, and the documentary has potential, and some of the moments on here I want to watch/rewatch,but really underwhelmed. I mean Rikishi vs Val Venis in a Cage over Triple H vs Jericho Last Man Standing? Really?

And I will be buying both the Best Buy Exclusive DVD and the Blu-Ray,I really hope they stop with the Exclusive DVD features thing,or at least release a Best Buy,or whatever retailer Exclusive Blu-Ray to go along with the Exclusive DVD. This is the 3rd time this year I have had to buy 2 versions to get everything. There is the factor that my cousin doesn’t own a Blu-Ray player, and we basically share my DVD Collection,so its not a total waste, just I have to buy both versions myself when they do this. Sorry for ranting,I just find it ridiculous.

  57. Mr Z says:

Before disc three was revealed I called this a buy based on Stone Cold vs Undertaker from June 1999. It’s a championship match, even though it’s not listed as such. Now that I see the list for the third disc:

Buried Alive Match for the WWE Tag Team Championship
The Rock & Mankind vs. The Undertaker & Big Show

    Definitely a buy.

  58. Anonymous says:

Really we are getting a lot here. Personally, i’m satisfied, even if nothing on my wishlist is on here, this is a lot of content, especially with the blu-ray. The blu-ray is almost like the exclusive 4th disc that WWE used to do before blu-ray.

  59. john peterson says:

But glad that the buried alive tag match is finally on a set

  60. Anonymous says:

So does this settle it that Attitude started in late 1997 and ended in late 2000?

I see that a lot of people aren’t satisified with the listings. However, it is important that you buy it so we can get what we really want next time. Perhaps we should come up with a coherent Volume 2. Without the documentary there is time for more which should include the Iron Man match.

    • RabidHeat says:

WWE once confirmed on WWE.com that the Attitude Era ended the night Stone Cold aligned himself with Vince McMahon, which makes sense when you consider at the core of the era was the Austin/McMahon feud. So I am surprised we have not one match/moment from 2001 here, but whatevs.

  61. warresg says:

    frankly speaking, not impressive

  62. Anonymous says:

I’ll probably buy it. A little underwhelmed though.

  63. Anonymous says:

Another thing they forgot….the brawl to end the last Smackdown before WM 2000. The entire roster came out, culminating in Mick Foley clearning the ring with a barbed wire baseball bat.

  64. Anonymous says:

    Repeats on disc 3:

Hardcore vs Crash (“WWF Hardcore” which came out in 2001)
Jericho vs Guerrero (History of the IC Title)
Ladder match is on several releases
Wedding is on OMG’s list, not sure if its an extra also
HITC is on “Hell In A Cell”

I hope I don’t spoil too much but the Too Cool vs Godfather/D-Lo match is an angle. The match never happens.

    • Anonymous says:

I should correct myself, the Guerrero/Jericho match is from Viva La Raza not History of the IC Title. Plus it is for the European title.

  65. john peterson says:

And still no Ironman match and six pack challenge 🙁

  66. Brad Attitude says:

I’m probably gonna pass on this set. Looks very watered down to me. The matches on WWE 13 really should’ve been on here and not on the games.

Oh and by the way, Chris Jericho vs. Eddie Guerrero was not for the WWE Championship as stated, its for the European Championship because that same match was also on Eddie’s Legacy dvd set … the birth of Latino Heat.

  67. Esome1980 says:

No this is your life segmant?? Wasnt that the
highest rated segmant in raw history??

  68. Bill Jones says:

I might pull a Brett Mix and not get this because DX was a major reason for the Attitude Era and this set has a documentary on DX but not any awesome moments like the time DX was searching for Undertaker and those girls popped out of the hurse.

  69. mcaruso34 says:

Disc 3 – Extras: DLo Brown vs. Jeff Jarrett – European & Intercontinental Championship Match – SummerSlam 1999; The Rock & Mankind vs. The Undertaker & Big Show – Buried Alive Match for the WWE Tag Team Championship – SmackDown! 70. Fingernail off the hand that Mae Young squeezed from her uterus says:

Does anyone know if the part where Kaintei chopped off Val Venis’s penis is on here? I remember watching it live on Raw, and the scene ended right as the knife was coming down and i never got to see what ended up happening.

  71. Anonymous says:

Not convinced about the extras may buy if reviews for the documentary are positive although it sounds like its going to be short

  72. warresg says:

they have the yurple the clown on the cover but don’t have this is your life segment.

  73. Robert says:

@Dave – Thanks for that link man, Disc 3 looks to be awesome!

  74. Mr. Hamilton says:

Are the match listings from the Australian website accurate? Come on Daniel Bee let us know.

  75. alvaro says:

I was an nwo guy I guess I didnt like the wwf during this period I was watching nitro with the nwo.

  76. alvaro says:

Nah, im passing on this DVD, no interest at any match. Bunch of just hype for ppv raw and smackdown matches.

  77. Alejandro says:

I Hope they put in disc 3 HHH VS Mr, McMahon in a Street fight from Armageddon 99

  78. John says:

I am a HUGE fan of Owen Hart and I am very pleasantly surprised to see Owen matches! 🙂

  79. Brad Attitude says:

nice to see owen hart get some love and wwe acknowledging ken shamrock.

hope disc 3 is worth the extra wait.

  80. rohfan81 says:

wow im so dissapointed in this set after seeing the 3rd disc content this is a major let down and a major pass not wasting 20bucks on this, think ill get the summer of punk dvd from ROH.com and get quality wrestling god they dropped the ball with this

  81. Anonymous says:

So….Taker/Austin and the Four Corners are the big winners here?

  82. Chris says:

Still no Judgment Day or Breakdown 98 main events?

  83. Raymond says:

No king of the ring hell in the cell match or the frist blood match Form 1998?

    • Anonymous says:

I remember that. Kane won the belt and Austin won it back the next night. Two matches you rarely hear about. I was hoping for at least one. Undertaker/Mankind HITC would also be appropriate, even thought its been on a bunch of sets, since it was a match that defined the era. A lot of people will buy this that don’t own a lot of WWE DVD’s and will be disappointed that the match is not on here.

      • Anonymous says:

So, you are admitting that you people are impossible to please. If WWE released HIAC everyone would bitch it’s on so many other discs, but then you rationalize it with “Not everyone has those discs.” Yet if you ask the 5 people who own an anthology or a rare disc that was attached to a discontinued cereal box, they have HIAC on 60 releases. Annoying!

  84. Steve 213 says:

Can someone provide a list of repeats and what else they’re on?

  85. james says:

I hate hate hate the strategy behind store exclusive content. If you’re going to buy the Bluray from the same store, you should get the exclusive content. It should not just be on DVD.

  86. JAF says:

I Just Checked WWEDVD.com.au And According to the Austrailian Website, The 3rd Disc Content Is As Follows:
    Disc 3 –
    *DLo Brown vs. Jeff Jarrett – European & Intercontinental Championship Match – SummerSlam 1999;
    *The Rock & Mankind vs. The Undertaker & Big Show – Buried Alive Match for the WWE Tag Team Championship – SmackDown! Sept 9, 1999;
    *Stone Cold & Jim Ross vs. Triple H & Chyna – Raw Oct 11, 1999;
    *Boss Mans Sympathy for Big Shows Dad – Raw Nov 18, 1999;
    *The Wedding of Stephanie McMahon & Andrew “Test” Martin – Raw Nov 29, 1999;
    *The Godfather & DLo Brown vs. Too Cool – SmackDown Jan 27, 2000;
    *Hardcore Holly vs. Crash Holly – WWE Hardcore Championship Match – Raw March 27, 2000; *Chris Jericho vs. Eddie Guerrero – WWE Championship Match – Raw April 3, 2000;
    *Rikishi vs. Val Venis – Steel Cage Match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship – Fully Loaded 2000;
    * Edge & Christian vs. The Hardy Boyz vs. The Dudley Boyz – Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match for the World Tag Team Championship – SummerSlam 2000;
    * Kurt Angle vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. The Rock vs. Undertaker vs. Triple H vs. Rikishi – Hell in A Cell Match for the WWE Championship – Armageddon 2000.

    • Anonymous says:

I hope that is not it. WAY too much Edge and Christian. Seriously, they werent that attitudinal. Plus why are the Dudleys on this three times? They work for the competition! We finally got Val but its when he was moving on from the porn star gimmick. I seriously hope they arent avoiding the WM2000 main event because it has blood. I know its family friendly now, but this is for older fans.

    • Brad Attitude says:

i believe chris jericho vs eddie guerrero match is for the european championship, not the wwe championship as that match was also on eddie’s legacy dvd set.

  87. Just wondering, why are people wanting the ironman match with Rock vs HHH? I understand it is a title change and HBK is the ref, but outside of that, what is the appeal? The finish was kinda botched cause Undertaker took to long to get in the ring. I’m not critizing anyone for wanting the match, but to me, it didn’t stand out as a must have.

  88. captain planet says:

    Uh…Shotgun Saturday Night?

    • Anonymous says:

I would like to see the bar room brawl between Austin and Terry Funk. Don’t remember much about it but I think it was pretty cool.

  89. mommy says:

to each his own but i like the matches just as much as the doc, its better having them on dvd rather than on youtube

i buy wwe dvds just as much for matches/promos as for the doc

if disc 3 has 2 out of the 3 of these matches its a great release
    iron man match
    jericho/hhh fully loaded
    wm 2000 fatal four way

very little repeats and im glad they ended in 2000, 2001 the popularity started to decline a bit

    • Anonymous says:

The problem with the Iron Man is that is takes up too much time.. it’s an hour long plus intros. We could still get it on the HHH biography next year, also the 4 way if if isn’t on here could be on the HHH set as well. I’m not really sure what unreleased matches from late 1999-2000(perhaps 2001) they could put if they don’t use those two. Best choice would be the 6 pack challenge from Unforgiven 1999 and Vince winning the title. Also good ones would be HHH vs Big Show from 12/27/99 and 1/3/00 Raws(although once again those could be on the HHH bio). Hopefully they dont just give us HHH/Cactus since it has been released elsewhere although it is a good match.

    • Dave says:

There are some matches from 2000 that i hope would make (if thats what the 3rd disc will be)…some ppv and RAW/SD matches i could think of are:

HHH vs. Rock vs. Big Show – WM2000 Main Event – RAW – 03/20/2000

Scotty 2 Hotty vs. Dean Malenko (Light Heavyweight Title) – Backlash 2000 – very underrated match

Rock vs. Kurt Angle – No Mercy 2000 – Not sure if this matches has been on DVD (minus tagged classics)

Rock vs. HHH vs. Kurt Angle – RAW – 06/26/2000

Steve Austin vs. Kurt Angle – RAW – 11/27/2000 (first match they had together)

      HHH/Kurt Angle/Steph vs. Dudleys/Lita – SD – 08/03/2000

There were lot of good matches that involve Benoit, but those will never make it…one was an 10 man tag from RAW 02/07/2000 with HHH/Benoit/Xpac/Malenko/Saturn vs. Cactus/Rock/Rikishi/Too Cool. Great match and a HOT crowd…it also featured the return of Kane.

    • pmdmf says:

Out of those three matches, the Jericho-HHH match is the most plausible to make it. Iron man would be too long, so would the WM 2000 match. The chapter, according to the WM 2000 dvd, lasts over 47 minutes. So Jericho-HHH would be the way to go.

  90. Anonymous says:

Some people i’m disappointed aren’t on here:

Goldust(although it says something about “GTV”)
    Val Venis
    Godfather
    The Brood
    D-Lo Brown

I know we still have another disc, but WWE puts these things in chronological order, and since disc 2 ends at August 99, i’m guessing we won’t see Val when he was still a big deal, D-Lo when he was pushed, The Brood when they were big, Godfather when he had just started, etc.

  91. William says:

What a cheap way to get views by not telling us the content on disc 3 in order to keep bringing us back and viewing the page. I thought this site was better than that.

  92. Roaster says:

Wow those best buy exclusives look like crap. Getting the bluray all the way.

  93. KarlKayfabian says:

I only count three repeats, bravo WWE!

  94. J says:

The Best Buy exclusive… their website only says the DVD version has the exclusive variant but there’s no listing for a blu-ray BB exclusive. So is it safe to assume there will be no Exclusive at BB for the blu-ray version?

  95. charlie says:

Hmmmmm so far the matches dont really appeal to me. I am interested in seeing the triple threat between shamrock, owen, and H.

  96. Anonymous says:

lol @ people bitching about the content. I am currently throwing money at my computer and drooling over the content.

AND THERE IS STILL ANOTHER DISC TO COME! BAH GAWD!

  97. Kevin says:

It doesn’t seem that anyone has noticed that there are Owen Hart matches on this set.

  98. CW says:

Day 1 buy…but there’s one match I wish they would put on a DVD:

New Age Outlaws vs. Legion of Doom vs. Disciples of Apocalypse in a Triple Threat WWF Tag Team Titles Match from June 8, 1998.

LOD and DOA tagged in both members of the NAO so they had to face each other…but instead Road Dogg lays down and lets Billy Gunn pin him to retain the titles. Greatest ending to a tag match ever.

  99. Simon says:

Listing doesn’t appeal to me in the slightest. Have cancelled my Amazon order accordingly.

  100. Anonymous says:

It seems like they aren’t going past 2000. They appear to have put all the interviews on the first disc, and that only goes to December 2000. The blu-ray exclusives also go to that point. Maybe they just didn’t have any good interviews past that point. Also, some of the good interviews and angles were on Steve Austins DVD and OMG!(supermarket brawl, Angle milk truck), so we still could see some matches from past that point. It will be very interesting to see exactly where WWE decides the end point is. Also, WWE’s popularity, although still high, started declining in 2001. So that’s another reason to stop at 2000. Hopefully we get some good matches and not Trish barking like a dog or whatever. Nothing from my wish list has been named yet even though I do like the match listing.

  101. Joe Israel says:

Just to warn everyone, after looking at the content listing, don’t expect the documentary to be over an hour. And based on responses to the nWo review, I know most of you like your docs longer than that…

  102. KarlKayfabian says:

I love releases like this where they can give Owen some love.

    • Anonymous says:

Whoa, I didn’t even notice that. I guess they means they can use him after all. Hope to see him in Bret Hart Unreleased too.

  103. Anonymous says:

Kind of a bizarre match listing. Doesn’t really have some of the bigger unreleased PPV matches like 6 pack challenge, Iron Man, WM2000 4 way. Hopefully disc 3 has some good stuff. Surprising amount of blu-ray exclusives too. Good to see Crash Holly!

  104. zach says:

i dont know about all of you. but this looks like an amazing release! especially now that the scratch logo wont be blurred. this should be a real treat

  105. Harry Faversham says:

There are a couple of great things on there, but this really doesn’t look like anything special so far. So it really needs to have a great documentary. That remains to be seen. Disc 3 needs to be good but I’m not too hopeful.

  106. rohfan81 says:

ill rephrase that i hope its not a pass but unless disc 3 is off the charts awesome i wont be able to justify gettng it,its just extremely hard to justify spending 20 bucks on something for just two or three matches thats why i never got tha greatest stars of the 21st century since it only had like two good matches on it

  107. rohfan81 says:

    pass

  108. Mark D says:

It’s a shame there aren’t many Sunday Night Heat matches/moments included. Heat is often overlooked and was big in the pre-SmackDown days. Halftime Heat would be a great inclusion.

A good listing so far can’t wait for next week! 🙂

  109. indyfan says:

Man i hate Besy Buy exclusives. I’m not that impressed thus far.

  110. Mr Z says:

The Undertaker vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin
    Raw – June 28, 1999

    It’s a buy!

  111. Jake Frankie says:

Since they Interviewed Vince Russo for NWO DVD does anyone know if he’s interviewed for this DVD. He kinda has too be I think he’s a huge part of the Attitude Era.

  112. Vincenzzzzzo says:

I’m liking what I’m seeing on this release so far. It will be fun to relive these matches and moments in HD. Also glad they have alot of SmackDown footage from the era as well. If that Goldust and Marlena interview is the one where he asks for the divorce, that’s gonna be great! I would love to finally get that on DVD. Looking forward to whats to come on the final disc.

  113. Supersonic says:

Don’t forget those in North America that don’t have a lot of this stuff remastered for commercial release. The tagged classics on Amazon UK run for over $30 a pop, which is pretty steep.

  114. RabidHeat says:

The only problem for me is these short documentaries like on the nWo DVD. Judging by the number of chapters I think this is gonna be short too. I’d love an Attitude Era documentary the length of, say, The Rise and Fall of ECW. I know some people would say that’s too long, but I think at least then the program would be totally exhaustive. The documentary means more to me than the extras. I have all the Tagged Classics and Raw/SD Best of Compilations and OMG!, etc. I really don’t need the second two discs of this, really. Plus, my older DVDs don’t have annoying ratio bars.

I’m not saying the set won’t be great, I’d just prefer a one-disc, 2-hour documentary to this. Just my view.

  115. pmdmf says:

I’m glad to see the Unholy Alliance wedding on here. I was disappointed that it was an OMG top 50 moment but not put on that set. I can’t wait for the rest of the content to be revealed and to get the blu ray.

  116. john peterson says:

Glad the 4 way tag match was put on this set.keeping fingers crossed for the Ironman match

  117. Steve says:

It’s pretty good but there is too much Raw and not enough PPV matches. We have the Rock-Mankind Survivor Series match! Put the Rock Bottom match! Put the Triple H-Y2J match! They are so clueless.

  118. how awesome does this set look guys. still hoping they show that rock austin sing off from november 01

    • Daniel Bee says:

Definitely hoping for that too. 🙂

That is if the set includes any 2001. The above listing doesn’t scream out to me that it will. Surely gotta cover some WrestleMania X-Seven!

  119. nightmare says:

Don’t know yet about this one I think I will wait for the review to come out before I buy it .It sounds like to me a repeat of the other Raw dvds they had out so far .

    • AJ says:

Shocking you’re not gonna buy, just like every DVD that comes out. WWE could make a DVD of your favorite matches and you would say PASS.

  120. WWEonly says:

Fino a qui, mi sembra deludente il contenuto: o meglio, non come mi aspettavo. Speriamo ora che possa risollevarsi col terzo DVD.

  121. mommy says:

disc 3 will be the make or break point, if it has the iron man match i will be happy

  122. mommy says:

what a cheap trick to get fans to keep tuning into this site all day for disc 3, your telling me they somehow “dont know” the third disc

this page got huge hits with this dvd, and there trying to milk it for all its worth, dirty cheap trick

  123. Anonymous says:

  124. Can’t wait for this!

  125. Jason says:

Looks good. I just wish the best buy exclusives were going to be on the blu ray as well, not just the dvd. Oh well though, cant have it all

  126. Scott says:

Sweet! What an awesome trip down memory lane this will be. Thanks for posting”

  127. @imdjluis says:

Looks good, but damn, every eligible DVD set keeps skipping over the great DX vs. The Nation street fight from Raw 98.

  128. Dave says:

Disc 3 will probably be matches and moments from 2000 and 2001. But looks pretty good so far.

  129. Joe Israel says:

Great job by the WWE with the content on this set! Good balance of expected repeats and great new stuff.

  130. Steven says:

A big letdown for DX fans because they should’ve included the comedy stuff with the Hart Foumdation and DX searching for Undertaker in a hurse.

  131. Anonymous says:

There will be cries about repeats, but with this set, there had to be. Some really stuff, but that third disc would really make or break the success. I think some need the Judgment Day 2000 match between Rock and Triple H to be a success. The doc looks short, but I’ll wait for runtimes. There are some really good unreleased gems. The Best Buy extra seems really good, so I’ll have to decide between that or the Blu-Ray.
