  1. Ricardo Aguilera says:

I was only disappointed cus undertaker or Kane were not in the list I don’t know why they r two of the greatest big giant men

  2. Jack says:

Only one Haystacks match? I guess it’s cool that they included him.

  3. Shane C. Montgomery says:

One Vader match and no Bam Bam Bigelow? Come on now! I know they are not big like the biggies but they were the best big men in wrestling. Still should be a good release.

  4. Frederick Latham says:

How is 6’8″, 300-plus-pound Hulk Hogan not profiled here? His status as a legit ring “giant” gets lost amid all the celebrity status.

  5. Matthew Padgeon says:

Vader vs. Kane (mask vs.mask) at no way out texas 1998 and The Bigshow vs. The Great Khail at Backlash 2008 should be on the list

  6. attitude.era.4life says:

The omission of so great huge giants that foks like myself is talking bout, makes me wonder, if the future for dvd/bluray is like computer games have evolved to:

    d.l.c. – down loadble content!

Only difference will be: you do not download, you stream..on the 9.99 network..and then you get the complete content eventually…one day…maybe..while you pay over and over and over for the same products with a few adding here and there..

Let us hope that it is merely a gloomy theory, but..then again..it is all about how much money can be generated for the Business, for as low productions costs as possible..

  7. Jeff Blue says:

No sumo match from WrestleMania 21 or Kane vs Khali from WrestleMania 23?

  8. agetrod says:

No Brusier Brody seems really weird. Studd had some great matches with Andre too. Still looks like a good set though other than the omission of Brody, Abdullah The Butcher and Stan Hanson.

  9. Fox says:

Hogan/Piper vs. Flair/Sid did take place on Feb.18, 1992 in W.Palm Beach, FL at a TV taping, so as long as WWE didn’t mix up the date & location with another of their matches (most of which took place in March), this would indeed be a previously unreleased match.

It also appears to have been the very first time this match took place, as Undertaker had been Flair’s partner vs. Hogan/Piper in the previous weeks before his “face turn” against Jake Roberts.

  10. Fosterma says:

i agree wit metfan61,if done right this should have been such a great set.considering a lot of the young wrestling have never seen some of the great Giants from the past. What about the road warriors vs King Kong bundy and jerry Blackwell.and the Andre the giant vs jhon studd steel cage match from the spectrum would have been great.vader vs big boss man is another match. To many great matches to have repeats on a new dvd

  11. dj says:

    No Trapper Jon Harris???

Btw, since when are people like mark henry giants? I can think of 10 way taller wrestlers

    • Vincenzzzzzo says:

It’s all about what people view as a “giant”. The discussion on WWE Legends of Wrestling touched on that subject a lot during the episode. The panel was debating if Undertaker was considered a giant or not. Some thought he was while others did not think so. Is Mark Henry a “giant”? Who really knows.

  12. Metfan61 says:

A lot of matches that haven’t been seen before but they also have a few that just make you wonder why they are here The One Man Gang Vs Shawn Micheals was on one of Shawns sets and just a squash The six man with Andre And Ernie Ladd was just on Mid-South the Andre Savage set was on Macho Madness the Hogan matches Vs Studd and Yokozuna and Diesel Vs Razor have all been seen before there is just too much to choose from to have any repeats at all in my opinion

  13. NickP says:

Great set. Hopefully Bam bam, Undertaker, and Kane are blu-ray extras. I believe the Sid/Flair vs Hogan/Piper is the same match that was on The Immortal Hulk Hogan vhs from 1992. Very fun match to watch.

  14. Vincenzzzzzo says:

Good match listing. I like when they add matches from the ’70’s. A lot of underrated matches from that time period.

  15. Fosterma says:

not sure why bam bam was not included on dvd maybe the blue ray extras can complete it.hopeing for jerry Blackwell vs brusier Brody,Andre the giant vs blackjack mulling an,bam bam big allow vs killer khan or lawerance Taylor

  16. Lemo says:

No Bam Bam !!!! Come on !!!!

  17. Your mom says:

    Undertaker is cool

  18. RCS1988 says:

Sid Justice & Ric Flair vs. Hulk Hogan & Rowdy Roddy Piper
West Palm Beach, FL • February 18, 1992

While they did have a match there, it will probably be the Mobile Alabama 3/9/92 match that was on the 1992 Battle of the WWF Superstars Coliseum Video. WWE should use Graham Cawthon’s website as a reference, since WWE makes the easiest mistakes on dates.

    • LP1 says:

I agree about the mistakes that WWE makes on dates, but they also specifically listed West Palm Beach as well. If they said “Mobile, AL – February 18, 1992” then I’d guess it was just a date error. At the same time WWE very rarely ever releases dark matches from TV tapings that weren’t already shown on Coliseum Video back in the day. The majority of dark matches back then were not taped at all and were just for the live audience. Any of the matches that were taped were specifically taped to be released on Coliseum Video. So you most likely are right, but who the hell knows at this point.

      • RCS1988 says:

Actually, the WWE would tape everything at the TV tapings, incase they would want to use it for future use. I really hope it is the West Palm Beach match, but who knows. If it is the West Palm Beach match, then they should start throwing in dark matches from TV tapings on other DVD’s here and there.

  19. Howard says:

@LP1 The match on the BOTS 92 tape I have wasn’t at the Garden, so I’d say its the one that will be on this Giants set.

  20. James W. says:

I really wish Bam Bam, Kamala, Boss Man and Natural Disasters were in documentary. Hoping for maybe Blu Ray. Will pick this up. Happy for match listing.

  21. hairynutsackonyourmomsface says:

Could have been an entire dvd without repeats but I am excited for a few matches. Bam Bam Bigelow not included is a damn shame though.

  22. Howard says:

The Hogan & Piper vs Sid & Flair was on the Battle of the Superstars 1992 Coliseum Video

  23. Ko says:

I am surprised the below giant are not included:
    Bam bam beglow
    Big boss man
    Earthquake
    Tugboat
Giant baba: it would have been great if they include a match Bruno samartino and giant baba

    • motorhead says:

Agree, @KD, not including Bam Bam is a BIG mistake. The best, one of at the very least, big men EVER. Boss Man and Natural Disasters for sure, seeing as they were for some time the biggest heel team in WWF, and then as babyfaces they were just as big. And yes, I’ve been punning my arse off with all the “big” stuff, I rolls hows I roll, folks… Also should have included the Twin Towers, seeing as they were pushed to the moon. So maybe a category of big men tag teams would have encompassed the four men, or in Akeem’s case, gimmick, seeing as OMG is already included. A little disappointing considering it’s not a “History of WWE” big men set, but a compilation of big men throughout history. I think the Blu-Ray exclusives should include the Legends of Wrestling roundtable of giants in wrestling. Jim Ross offered some very unique and proper insight into the subject.

    • gene says:

Bam Bam might be on the blu ray extras

  24. LP1 says:

This looks like a lot of fun. Anyone that was expecting 5-star classic matches on this set were fooling themselves. An interesting note is the Hogan & Piper vs Flair & Sid tag match from ’92 has never been seen anywhere. It was a dark match at a Wrestling Challenge taping.

  25. Fosterma says:

i still going to buy and add to my collection. But a little disappointed in the match selection. Plus blackjack mulligan, jerry Blackwell, brusier Brody, abduller the butcher and Stan Hanson were left out. Wwe when are you going to start letting real wrestling fans make your DVDs. Lol Jim Ross where are you

  26. Howard says:

No Big Boss Man? I would like a set that covered anything from 1988 to 1992 WWF.

  27. jim says:

i wish they would release Hogan vs Kamala from maple leaf Gardens jan 1987 i see the Andre Kamala i wish they would under blu-ray exclusives but not likely and sting vs vader 1993 superbrawl as well but over great set i will be picking this up.

  28. Nicolas Hébert says:

Diesel vs Isaac Yankem D.D.S Superstars January 20th 1996.

The real Diesel facing the future fake Diesel in that same year when Kevin Nash went to WCW.

  29. Cody Schields says:

Love the Diesel vs Isaac Yankem match, since Isaac went on to work as the new Diesel later in the year and then a year later he hit it big with Kane

  30. Anonymous says:

Looks godawful, which was to be expected.

  31. james says:

Great listing, even though I wish it included The Natural Disasters.

  32. King1115 says:

Why isn’t El Gigante part of The Documentary portion?

  33. Lawrence says:

Pleasantly surprised by the match listing! I’m a fan of old-school matches and there are more of those type matches than I was anticipating. I expect to purchase this set.

  34. Fox says:

Decent match listing, at least much better than I expected! The 2 new Ernie Ladd matches sold it for me, especially the Stars Wars ’81 vs. Kerry (from what might’ve been the very first “Star Wars” Supercard). Of course there are a few unnecessary repeats, plus Gang/Gigante Bash ’91 & Yoko/Hogan KOTR ’93 are just AWFUL matches. Still, the good looks to far outweigh the bad (no pun intended) and we get what’ll hopefully be a decent Documentary to boot. Hopefully the Bluray exclusives tip the scales even more!

  35. Tommy d says:

Finally hart/sid from raw is being released.

  36. indyfan says:

    looks pretty bad. Skipping it.

  37. Calvin Heikkila says:

Pretty disappointed at the set only having one Vader match, but looks good overall.

  38. Archangel says:

Match lineup for disc 2 looks good. Not so sure about disc 3. I was hoping it would have the big Survivor Series match with Andre, Gang, and Bundy on one team.

  39. SRB says:

No complaints on my end. The documentary feature looks similar to the 80’s and 90’s sets we’ve gotten and this is a great way to showcase these guys who will likely not get sets of their own. There are some great matches here and plenty of gems. I’m already curious how long the set will be. It does look pretty packed. Excited for the exclusives. Maybe more superstars will be featured like Big Boss Man. Cena’s set featured more rivalries on the exclusives, maybe this will follow the same format.

  40. attitude.era.4life says:

while I am still gonna get this one, I am slightly disappointet that the like of Big Daddy V is not being profiled, especially since he passed away. I can only assume, wwe is afraid of any issues it may cause with Nelson’s money greedy screwball widow.

I am also disappointet that only 15 giants appearently are highlighted, since it was firstly advertised as having at least 20. Maybe a second volume is on the mind of wwe, if this one sells well enough.

Other than that, looks HUGE.. 😉
