Damn, I thought (hoped) it would only feature matches from the YEAR 2000. So this is a decade compilation then. I sincerely hope WWE will put in a lot (more) effort in transferring the matches to high-definition, that originally was only released on DVD. As for us that have the whole decade in our collection, it begins to be a little bit boring if not even the transfer is something to look forward to.
Because that IS the reason why physical releases is still held so high by many, as the transfer is always the best compared to online.
This has been mentioned many times before, but you can’t transfer matches taped before January 2008 to high definition. WWE recorded all their shows on tape back then, not film. The reason old movies are able to be upgraded to HD is because they were recorded on film, which can be upgraded. Tape can’t be upgraded.
Thanks LP1. Nice answer. I never thought of that. Hope they develop a technology in the future that could still make it look a little bit better though.
Incredibly upset by the fact that WWE Elimination Chamber AND WWE Fastlane won’t get the blu ray treatment!!!!!! What is going on ??
Judging by the “2000s Week” logo, I’m assuming there’s going to be matches featuring John Cena
Hardly a shocker, lol
Nice to see the No Way Out 2001 match since that hasn’t been on anything since 2008 but I really hope this isn’t all PPV matches.
Here’s a good idea for Vin Man & his WWE Homemedia; If he’s really losing money with the Blu-rays, then why not just shut down making PPV Blu-rays first, but carry on with the Special sets e.g. Best of 2000, Superstar sets like Austin/Triple H, Sets like OMG25, etc!!!
I’m certain this will be almost entirely consisting of repeats.
of course in terms of sheer quality, this set is probably going to be among the very best ever (so far all five announced matches are great).
Those first 4 matches sound boring enough to me.
It’s fans like you who don’t know their history who find old matches boring when they show how a real wrestling match goes …. not the spotfests u see in this day and age. That’s not wrestling!
more important than that: there was much more amazing storylines and build-ups back then (the “Three stages of Hell” match being a prime example of that).
I really hope we get Raw and SD matches I think these matches are great but I hope it’s not all filled with PPV stuff
I hope there is still room for some unreleased gems on this set, and not just PPV matches.
I have the WWE Network, so I can watch almost all of these matches without purchasing that DVD set. However, I love having all of those matches, in one place, on a DVD, and I am buying it. Kurt Angle and Taker had epic matches in the 2000’s. I hope that a few more are on there. I love when Kurt ruined Taker’s Harley and he tried to give him a moped to make up for it.
Absolute classics to start this week of reveals with.. while I have all the ppv’s on DVD, it could be sweet to have classics like these collected on 1 set..alas, it will appearently only make it on DVD.
so far a pass for me alot of repeats but ehh let’s see
