We can now reveal the first known release date for the “Sting: Into The Light” DVD/Blu-ray – October 7th, 2015 to fans in Australia.

Given that update, the new Sting WWE DVD looks to be confirmed and we would expect the release to the United States and UK/Europe to also come in early October. As reported, the main feature is slated to be a documentary on Sting’s career and his WWE run so far.

More indications that the “Owen Hart: Hart of Gold” WWE DVD/Blu-ray is going ahead!

Jim Ross has confirmed that he was interviewed by the company for the documentary. In a recent blog post, JR recalled the interview process, having to discuss the night of Owen’s tragic death, and eerily finding out about the recent passing of Dusty Rhodes at the same time.

As I was sitting in an office in Asheville, NC at Eblen Charities being interviewed by WWE for the upcoming Owen Hart DVD and discussing what May 23, 1999 meant to me my cell phone buzzed incessantly. It wouldn’t stop and interrupted our recording.

I needed to to take a break and collect my thoughts on a question that I knew was coming but that I still dreaded answering. I excused myself to the men’s room and eventually got around to checking my messages and to my horror I found out that my friend of over 30 years Dusty Rhodes had died at age 69 in Orlando, Florida.

I hope Sting’s doc, being as long awaited as it is, ends up having a longer doc than Lawler. Lawler’s was good, but a bit short for me. I expect Sting’s doc to extensively detail his series with Flair, especially the 35 minute draw that made him a star. I hope Scott Hall gets over whatever issues he’s currently dealing with so WWE can have him speak on coming up with The Crow for Sting.

hak vs rick steiner? ha! that will never be on the dvd set

  3. CMW says:

Wouldn’t mind seeing the Dungeon of Doom attacking, and shaving off Hogan’s mustache on Nitro Vol. 3.

  4. Domenic Ricci says:

Is there more content that has not been revealed yet? Like other matches?

  5. TPP says:

Thanks for the heads up on the Lawler and Bryan blu-ray sale at Best Buy. I ordered both online. The Bryan blu-ray is now on backorder though, so store pickup is the way to go if possible.

  6. LP1 says:

There was probably a low demand for Live In The UK because it was only on DVD. If they wanted to sell more they should’ve released it on blu-ray. They release everything on blu-ray there except the Live In The UK shows.

    • Mark Markson says:

I’m not sure about that. They say the DVD sales are still beter than the blu-ray sales. That is also why the release Elimination Chamber 2015 on DVD and not blu-ray.

      • attitude.era.4life says:

best or raw/smackdown and best of ppvs 2014 were also only released on SD media although the content is filmed in HD.. no matter what cause and motives they may have for it, but it looks like -beep-, when HD filmed material is put on SD media. :-/

        • attitude.era.4life says:

          or = of

        • Mark Markson says:

I agree. HD footage looks bad on DVD.

Blu-ray players are not expensive any more, so really don’t understand why some fans stick with DVDs.

          • attitude.era.4life says:

If I could make an ultimate wish or winning the definitely price in a competition, it would be to have all 2008-2011 ppv’s released on bluray for the UK/European market.. and for the US market, those same + all those that never been released as bluray in the US and elsewhere.

Yep.. pitch that to WWE, dear WDN folks, will ya.. 😉

            • attitude.era.4life says:

all those 2008-2011 HD filmed ppvs, which have yet not seen a bluray release. Just to clear that up.. 🙂

              • Daniel Bee says:

Go back and put random PPVs on Blu-ray? You know that aint gonna happen, especially given that most aren’t put out on Blu-ray even now. And the Network is an added factor, as you guys are talking about.

                • attitude.era.4life says:

Ooooh, I know it’s not gonna happen in this Network era..

still not making me stop hoping for it to come true..and I bet my old hat, that there is indeed money in it for Vince and Co. bringing the complete feuds of Jericho vs HBK, Undertaker vs Edge and the masterpieces like No way Out 2008 and 2009, Money in the Bank 2011 and Extreme Rules 2012 (outside UK and Europe) are to 1920×1080 full HD level….which is not the case with the Network.

          • Foley is Good says:

Yeah I don’t have a clue either. Although I did buy WWE 50 on DVD because I already had the Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels WM 25 match on bluray and didn’t give a crap about Big Show vs Mayweather and saved $20.00.

  7. Mark Markson says:

Too bad about the cancellation of the Live In The UK DVD set. But I can understand why it don’t sell as well any more. You can watch the shows on the Network in HD.

  8. Nico says:

Any idea when the full match list for Kliq and Vol 3 of Best of WCW Nitro will be out?

I’d like to see the following matches and moments on the Best of WCW Nitro 3 set:

    • Ric Flair & Sting vs. Brian Pillman & Arn Anderson (1995)
    • Ric Flair vs. Sting (viewers choice match 1995)
    • Sting Beats Up the nWo (1997)

    • WCW Championship Match: Booker T vs. Scott Steiner vs. Mike Awesome (2000)
