“Eric Bischoff – Sports Entertainment’s Most Controversial Figure” is WWE’s next 3 disc DVD and 2 disc Blu-ray that’s set for release. It will hit stores in just over 3 week’s time!

WrestlingDVDNetwork.com can now show off more artwork to be featured on the physical packaging of the DVD/Blu-ray. These newly revealed shots below follow a “newspaper” style theme similar to the original cover planned for the Bischoff DVD before it was later changed.

The complete Blu-ray compilation will pack in a documentary feature, more “stories” cut from the documentary, and loads of extras that include interview segments with the man himself, moments and matches from his career, and his appearances in WWE Network shows last year.

Arguably the most controversial figure to ever step foot in the industry, Eric Bischoff is responsible for some of the most revolutionary moments in sports-entertainment history.

From creating the nWo, to battling WWE as the figurehead of WCW during The Monday Night War, to being one of the most-hated personalities in both WCW and WWE, Eric Bischoff knew how to get under his rival’s skin while creating his own in your face brand of controversy.

Relive all of Eric Bischoff’s greatest moments and hear stories from the man himself and see why he was appropriately named “The King of Controversy”.

We reported this week that copies of the “Owen: Hart of Gold” DVD with its originally intended cover artwork have been showing up in stores across the United States.

eBay seller “jasfilm” has managed to find a number of these DVDs and has sold them for $49.99 each on the auction site. The seller currently has 1 more copy available here on eBay.com.

Both the front and back cover differ in this “banned” version – the artwork inside is identical.

Did I miss something – why is the Owen thing a “mess up”? Might they not have just purposely decided to release the cover variant?

    • Daniel Bee says:

It may well be a “mess up” or oversight since we know they definitely decided not to release that version to stores last year and it hasn’t been seen ’til now.

However, sure, WWE or their distributor might have decided recently to get rid of the stock they had on hand if they did.

As the “new” version was the only one intended to be out there’s a bit of mystique around this original one. After all, when’s the last time the same WWE DVD had two different covers?

  2. Mark Markson says:

That UK DVD sale looks good paper, but if you live outside the UK, you have to pay £4,10 for shipping. And you also have to pay a fee to PayPal. So you don’t really save that much, to be honest. :-/
