Exclusive: 2 Major WWE DVD Titles Dropped from 2011 Schedule

February 22, 2011 by Daniel Bee

We can exclusively reveal that two major 2011 WWE DVD sets (planned for at least the past 4 months), have been removed from the schedule.

Raw: The Best of Seasons 3 & 4 is no longer incoming for this year, reason being it’s being replaced due to low sales of the first “Beginning” volume which covered 1993/1994.

Word from WWE is all Raw seasons will one day get “Best of” style releases but for now there won’t any new additions to the series. This is quite shocking since WWE had plans in place to release a new volume once annually.

Triple H‘s new DVD/Blu-ray set has also been removed. Rather than being outright canceled this one is postponed as of now until sometime in 2012. The reason for this is unknown but do expect to see a new HHH release sooner rather than later.

Note: These aren’t rumors, this is confirmed via WWE themselves. There are many other amendments too including a few new additions and various release date switches. Stay tuned to the site over the coming days for the exclusive scoop.

wankers 93 to 97 were the golden years the best i think season one and two was awsome made me feel young again! Hbk rules 4 life those were is best years as well damn wwe! Screw cena

  3. Steven says:

I was pumped for the Raw 1997 because of DX but I guess now were not going to get the best DX from Raw and the best time to be a wrestling fan.

  4. Steve says:

Replace it with RAW 1997 and 1998 that would get HUGE sales. Or 1999/2000 smackdown.

  5. Daniel says:

Im not happy about the best of Raw being cancelled, this is my generation of Raw. The reason why 1&2 didnt do well is because of the pointless Doink matches. Just who cares about doink. If they care about the fans they should reconsider. We are the people who pays their wages the fans!

  6. Adam says:

I think the match listing hurt the Raw set to the casual fan, which is probably why it hasn’t done well, for example you look at HBK vs Russ Greenburg and say ‘eh i’ll pass, but that match was the Diesel debut (why not push that instead?). I don’t think there was a bad match on the set, most of the matches were solid at very least.

I guess the moral of this story is buy the DVD, especially with the upcoming Nitro set and the possibility of multiple volumes.

Also the success (or lack of) the Raw 93/94 is why we’re getting ‘the very best of nitro’ and not in series format, as rumored.

Love seasons 1 and 2 and I know many people that felt there was some good stuff on there. Maybe WWE shouldn’t have packed it with such worthless matches though. Ludvig Borga vs. Doink isn’t exactly a classic.

I thought the golden rule of the wrestling business was “never bullshit the fans”.

  9. AD720 says:

Sucks i enjoy the Best of RAW, hey maybe they want to make new HHH dvd something special.

  10. Brett Mix says:

Wow. I thought the Raw sets were terrific, it is a shame people will spend money on DVDs like the new and improved DX or DVDs about John Cena and his car collection but not on the ones that actually matter.

  11. william says:

pissed off that they got rid of the best dvd of year in best of raw and triple h i was also looking forward to they get rid of the raw but they keep big show really

  12. Dennis says:

do they like to piss their fans off on purpose? i swear i think they do!

  13. Banjo says:

Honestly I was waiting for the RAW 97 and 98 set to come out. The earlier stuff doesn’t interest me

I hope by the time Triple H’s collection comes out that the PG rating will be removed from DVDs. In most of his epic matches there’s always someone busted open

  14. gavinotts says:

shockin but i bet the reason tripe h dvd is its due to him takin undertakers streak at mania maybe the case and with the raw is because aswell you can buy them on ioffer just as cheap as them sets but for the full year

  15. chris says:

    also wanted to add someday

  16. chris says:

they better release the attitude raw seasons when it was the best thing going

  17. Bryan says:

  19. Frank perez says:
