CM Punk has been discussing his upcoming DVD again with the Chicago Tribune while attending Kerry Wood’s Strike Zone Celebrity Bowling Tournament.
This is your life: CM Punk calls himself the best wrestler in the ring and on the mic, so it’s not surprising that he feels he has the best WWE DVD as well. The Lockport native said his straight-to-DVD, which will be released some time in October, is better than the ones WWE made for John Cena, Rey Mysterio and Chris Jericho.
“Obviously, I’m biased,” Punk said at 10pin, “but I think mine is the best. Mine starts way different than anyone else’s and ends way different than anyone else’s.”
The DVD film not only features interviews with fellow wrestlers Cena and Triple H, but also some of Punk’s close friends, including indie wrestler Colt Cabana and Rancid band member Lars Frederiksen.
“Honestly, it was like watching my life flash before my eyes,” Punk said. “They used a lot of footage from my early days. Just seeing the whole package put together with people I respect in the industry and have known my whole life talking about me, it seemed weird. It felt like I was at my own funeral. You get a perspective of where I come from, how hard I’ve worked and where I’m at now. It blew me away. There were a couple moments where I was like ‘Wow, this is really touching.’”
You can read the entire piece at the Chicago Tribune here.
In addition to the No Way Out DVD & Blu-Ray SilverVision have also added a brand new Tagged Classic for pre-order. The 2 disc set will feature the four classic ‘WWF’ VHS titles:
- Austin 3:16
- Three Faces of Foley
- Chris Jericho: Break Down the Walls
- Kurt Angle: It’s True, It’s True.
The set will be released in August, as always you can pre-order your copy now at SilverVision.co.uk.
WWEShop.com have a great deal on the newly released Falls Count Anywhere DVD and Blu-ray, each are listed at just $9.99!!! We’re not sure how long this deal will last, but we recommend you order quickly to avoid disappointment. Visit WWEShop.com to order…
Strange tagged classics choice here. Not only because of the Attitude collection but because they paired the Mick foley DVD before with the Undertaker DVD. There is also a short tape called Madman Unmasked that would have made more sense to put the 3 of those together and then Austin 3:16 with Austin vs. McMahon & the What DVD. Just seems a bit disorganised to me. But I’m glad to see the Jericho and Angle releases especially as that is the first wwe Kurt Angle DVD release. Sort of, in a way, but not really. I like the collection of short release being bundled together though. Reminds me of those computer games where you get all the old ones you played as a kid on 1 disc.
Yes I agree a Kurt Angle DVD is long overdue. They supposed release a Kurt Angle DVD back in 2004 but it never happen. I can understand Kurt Angle is with TNA. It would make sense if to have Kurt involved in the documentary. Hopefully after Kurt TNA contract expires in 2014 we may see him come back to the WWE have that DVD of career come out. If someone can make a fantasy Kurt Angle DVD on here please i love your creative work.
It’s pretty much a definite that Angle(unless he goes apeshit and on a killing spree) gets in the WWE Hall Of Fame. If he doesn’t return to WWE before then, that’ll probably be the time we get a full Angle documentary DVD/BR.
I used to have the Jericho tape.I loved it.
There seriously needs to be an Angle dvd set.Its long overdue.
Hey everyone check your fye I just got the John cena and Zack Ryder superstar DVDs scheduled for July 10th for 9.99 a piece.
What is it about SilverVision’s Blu-ray covers that they can’t properly include the full picture? It’s always a badly cropped version of the DVD cover. I don’t understand what the thought process is behind that. In the US there’s no problem with the Blu-ray covers showing the full cover just like the DVD. Very strange.
I remember buying the Jericho and Angle VHS tapes together, now they are on the same tagged classic set
Great news about WWE reaching out to Colt for an interview on the CM Punk DVD! I’m getting more and more excited about this with every tidbit I hear.
oh, for God’s sake! I only just went and bought all those newly released Attitude Collection DVDs and now they’re releasing them in the Tagged Classics? Andalongside two titles I’ve wanted for ages in the Jericho and Angle docs? I’m really annoyed!!! Grrrr.
Great Tagged Classic! was hoping they would release Jericho and Angle’s VHS…i already have the Foley and Austin 3:16 Attitude collection DVD, but still picking it up.
Its funny people complain about guys getting VHS/DVDs too early or shit content *cough* Superstar Collection series *cough*, but seem to forget guys like Angle and Jericho VHS that were released about a 1 year after their debut and were only 60 minutes and priced at $20-25.
Thanks for the heads up on the Falls Count Anywhere Blu Ray. Also picked up Best of The Clash of the Champions for $9.99
Boring ;( ne update on a WWE TRIPLE H Blu-Ray?
