The most exciting time of year for WWE fans is upon us — WrestleMania. In the DVD collecting world we’ve heard plans for a store exclusive but for the 2018 spectacle there will be even more.

Early word is that there’s an “online exclusive” in the works for both the DVD and Blu-ray versions of WrestleMania 34. WrestlingDVDNetwork.com has learned that it could well feature a bonus disc; expanding the standard 3-disc DVD to a 4-disc set and the 2-disc Blu-ray to a 3-disc set!

That can only mean we have a special edition on the way that’s packed with bonus footage on top of the 8-9 hours of content already demanded from the WrestleMania Home Video release every year.

An official announcement is expected to follow before WWE descends upon New Orleans and the Mercedes-Benz Superdome for the unmissable event on Sunday, April 8th, 2018.

For now, fans in the United States can find WrestleMania 34 up for pre-order at the following links:

  1. RabidHeat says:

I think it’s more likely that the bonus disc for the online exclusive will just contain the pre-show matches (as opposed to being “packed” with any amazing supplementary documentary footage, etc.) given how long the show is this year, which might mean that you can only get the pre-show matches if you pay a premium for the online exclusive! That wouldn’t be good news, as such.

  2. David says:

Given how stacked this years WM card looks with 13 matches (Cena vs. Taker most likely to be confirmed, making it 14 matches) this WM will likely be the longest ever, the main show will probably go 6 hours or more, plus the kick off matches. Also with the HOF disc I think WWE are prepping themselves to space the event onto 3 discs on DVD plus the HOF on the 3rd/4th disc and 2 discs on Blu-ray and the 3rd being the HOF.

    • LP1 says:

I just looked at the cable guide, they have a 6 hour window blocked off for Mania, 7pm ET to 1am ET. Last year they had the window blocked off until 12:30am ET and they went until 12:11 ET. So they won’t go more than 6 hours, but they’ll probably for sure go more than 5 and 1/2 hours. Definitely way too long. Especially on a work/school night. UFC can get away with having their PPVs go until 1am or later because their PPVs are held on Saturdays. The best thing in the future is if WWE is intent on having these 5+ hour shows is to start them earlier, around 4pm or 5pm ET. Back in the late 80s/early 90s they used to start at those earlier hours all the time.

    • Mark Markson says:

A 5 or 6 hour Wrestlemania is too long. I never watch it live because I live in Europe. But even if you can fast forward over some of the entrances, video packages etc. It’s still a long show.

      • SRB says:

During Roman vs. Brock, I’m going to just watch their match from WM31.

        • LP1 says:

Be great if Carmella cashes in during the match and history repeats itself.

        • Mark Markson says:

I don’t mind that match. I expect that Lesnar will finally lose the title. I really, really hope it’s the last time WWE puts the title on him. I don’t mind him having a PPV match once in a while, but I mind WWE putting the title on a part timer.

  3. Jon says:

Was there ever a Walmart or fye sale this year for WrestleMania

  4. Brandon Vendetta says:

Wonder if they will still screw everyone on the pre show matches. One would think not but who knows.

    • Leonard says:

They did last year so I wouldn’t put it past them. They could have rectified it and have sent out replacement Blus identical to the UK ones just for anyone who requested them in order to have the pre-show matches but nope.

    • David says:

This year i think there will be 4 matches on the pre-show and 10 on the main card. Depending on how long the kick off matches are likely would be cut. Last year the main show went over 5 hours (about 5 hours 10 minute) and i believe the UK had to squeeze 3 kickoff matches whereas the US completely removed them. Given how big this years WM is with at least 5 main event caliber matches getting a decent amount of time this will be a long WM – hitting 6 hours or more most likely. If thats the case I think the kick-off matches will be removed completely from UK and US if they really want to keep the usual WM + HOF package.

      • Foley is good says:

Dear lord six hours is way too long for a ppv.

        • Brandon Vendetta says:

I agree for sure. I miss the days when a PPV was 3 hours tops and alot of em were great pay per views too. Six hours is beyond overkill. I would be happy if they just cut short some entrances and all the storyline crap before each match. Not every match needs a recap with the events leading up to it. Cut all this crap out and it would save at least close to 45 minutes.

          • David says:

Well, it is their biggest show of the year and even Wrestle Kingdom went nearly 6 hours this year and other years for over 5 hours long.

With the amount of talent they have on the card the main event level matches at least gets enough time for each. Unless they rush the undercard like they did with WM19 which had 5 main events and the undercard was done in 1 hour – the opening match was less than 5 minutes.

I don’t really mind it being a long show as long as its good and i think this year no matter what people say has potential to be one of the best.

          • whut says:

they could probably keep the recaps if they just cut some of the “fluff”.

also I’d argue that some of the “epic” matches of the recent years felt too forced (e.g. did Rollins vs. Triple H and Undertaker vs. Reigns really need to be as long as they were?)

  5. Tommy D says:

Not going to get my hopes up, but hopefully it is in the US, has the preshow matches, and MAYBE Takeover??

    • RabidHeat says:

I feel like the inclusion of the Takeover event is a bit ‘Pie in the Sky’. We hope for that every year but it doesn’t seem to be something WWE care about doing.

      • Tommy D says:

Yeah, that’s why I’m not going to get my hopes up. I will be ecstatic if they include it, but as long as I get the full WM event with preshow, I”ll be ok.

        • whut says:

why *should* the Takeover be included? (what I mean is that unlike the kickoff, it’s not part of the actual event)

  6. Jordan B says:

So these online exclusives are different than the best buy alternate blu artwork? So is there going to be a regular dvd, regular blu ray, alternate cover best buy blu ray, online exclusive dvd, online exclusive bluray!?!?

  7. whut says:

so let’s cross fingers that the bluray version of this “online exclusive” is going to be region free.
