I liked this pairings i had fun voting. Next year you should have the top 64 best ppvs as the march madness it be fun voting on that as well.

  2. RabidHeat says:

Most of the pairings are comparing two DVDs that are of a completely different format, length or subject matter, so I don’t really see the point in this tournament, lol. It’s not fair any way you look at it.

    • Mark D says:

I’m sorry you feel like that. We try and bring not only the finest level of DVD coverage but also some fresh and unique content as well. The March Mania tournament is purely intended to be a little bit of fun.

The pairings for the first round (and their placement in the brackets) was done completely at random from the initial nominations. Obviously pairings for the subsequent rounds was made through each persons votes.

  3. Jamey says:

this list is only a popularity contest…..how many people have seen all of these dvds in the tournament ? I for one own almost all of them and saying that my voting would be much different.

  4. isrs4life says:

i’m hoping bret harts dvd wins march mania if it doesnt i bet its all crooked voting, boo…

    • Kenny says:

As a Bret fan, I’d love to see his DVD win too. In all honesty, and I’ve said it before, the ECW DVD has that one thing that no other DVD can claim.

  5. Kenny says:

What is so great about the WrestleMania X-Seven DVD? The show was great, but the DVD is just another PPV on DVD. Big deal.

It has no in-depth documentary, and no match on the card can touch the quality of any match on either Shawn’s DVD or Bret’s.

I don’t understand how this DVD has gotten so far. Anybody care to explain?

    • David says:

Yeah, WM17 was an awesome ppv, no doubt and still one of the best WMs of all time, but as DVD competing with DVDs like Rise and Fall of ECW it was really nothing special. The extras were few interviews and match from Heat, video packages that were shown on the actual PPV and highlights from RAW next night. Nothing too spectacular.

I really hope Rise and Fall of ECW wins. That to this day is one of the best documentaries WWE has put out.

    • Charles says:

      Same interrogations here…

      • SRB says:

The teen Wrestlemanias really were amazing. 17, 18 and 19 especially. 18 is by far my favorite WM of all time. You had Taker/Flair, HHH/Jericho, Austin/Hall, and Hogan/Rock. 19 is a close second with HBK/Jericho, Hogan/McMahon, Booker/HHH, Lesnar/Angle, and Rock/Austin… Actually, I’m changing my vote… WM 19 really was truly amazing. That’s a hard one, but I certainly don’t get the WM17 hype. Not nearly as good as 18 or 19…

        • Kenny says:

Right. I totally agree; the shows were good. But as far as the DVDs go, what makes X-Seven so great? I have the DVD, and I don’t believe there’s anything spectacular about the DVD. It’s just a DVD of a PPV.

So far, the DVD has gotten so far, and nobody has really offered a reason as to why it’s worth voting for.

  6. SRB says:

    Glad Punk was eliminated.

Also glad Warrior is on his set.

    • Kenny says:

He couldn’t compete with the ECW set. Honestly, I don’t really see anything else being able to touch it. What other DVD spawned the rebirth of…well, anything? Lol!

      • SRB says:

With ECW, we got a 3 hour documentary told from Heyman’s view… It literally covered everything, from the day they opened to the day they closed and they gave us a few minutes on each main guy like Sabu, RVD, Raven, Dreamer and others. It was a classic piece and it was 100% truthful, which is the most important factor. It breaks KAYFABE, which is what true, old school fans want to see. Even Bischoff was on it and discussed ECW. I hope that set receives the credit it deserves. More people voted for Punk because of him as a person. People were just believing the hype of the guy, but ignored the actual set and match selection, which was awful. Although a good set collectively, Punk’s is just as forgettable as the new HHH or the 50 years set. All are great sets, but they are poorly produced compared to ECW and Bret’s sets.

  7. ekkoes4life says:

maybe a bit out of subject, but: anyone have some news regarding tnadvd uk? clearvision site can not be accessed. and their twitter and facebook sites not having any updates for ages it seems.

  8. ekkoes4life says:

ECW going up against Bret… would be just tooooo sweeeeet..

both sets have two of the ultimate interesting in-depht docs, and in my book should have been accompanied by For all Mankind and Bottom line…

As fate has it, here we are.. I really hope for the ECW set as winner, but.. time will tell.

    • Kenny says:

I’m a massive Bret Hart fan, and have voted for his DVD throughout the tournament. However I can’t see his set beating the ECW set. The big thing that I keep falling back on with the ECW DVD is that it spawned the rebirth of the ECW letters. No other DVD can claim it’s had that level of impact.

      • ekkoes4life says:

interesting angle, regarding voting for the ECW set. Never thought about it in that way, but I agree..no release actually has that kind of unique rebirth making in-process..and with such an impact and totally honesty, most of all from Paul Heyman…I really hope that the release on him will have the same kind of feel of impact and honesty.

  9. Anonymous says:

Hoping it’s Rise and Fall vs. Bret. Two of the best docs WWE’s ever put out and way more impressive than just a show collection and a PPV with some okay bonus features.

  10. Cody Schields says:

I have all those blockbuster exclusives. Stumbled on one of them before I had heard of this website and picked up several at a nearby blockbuster store that was closing. Then I got the last few through amazon and ebay. Some cool extras here and there on the bonus discs.

  11. Scott says:

I am also very surprised to see WM 17 and the RAW anniversary make it so far. For myself, I voted for DVDs that we’re more than simple PPVs or match/show compilations. We have the network for that now anyway. My picks were for those with a good documentary or superstar compilation with matches/segments/interviews with the subject or his peers.

  12. Jeff copeland says:

Ehhh blockbuster ones u get few matches but tats it i got no way out 07 and bonus matches are rated rko vs undertaker and batista and mvp/kennedy vs john cena and hbk from sd before the ppv soo ehhh

    • Timothy Thorpe says:

I got the Judgment Day edition and got a gem of a bonus match: Undertaker vs. Batista in a cage match for the World Heavyweight Championship complete with Edge cashing in Money in the Bank. In fact, that’s the reason I got the dvd, because that’s the only place I could find it.

  13. ALK says:

Calling it, ECW Vs WM17 for the final.

  14. Roaster says:

Surprised the raw 20th had come so far. I voted for it the first couple rounds but that was it. It only has a few decent discs. A lot of it is so-so episodes with 1 or 2 big moments per episode. Austin and Jericho’s sets should’ve made it over wm17. Interested to see the finals.

  15. David says:

Looking forward to the Warrior Blu-ray, glad he’s involved. I was such a Warrior mark as a kid so this will be great.

As for the Blockbuster exclusive DVDs, i wonder why they stopped at No Mercy and not finish up the remaining three – Cyber Sunday, Survivor Series and Armageddon. Also why did Blockbuster make Summerslam 2007, Unforgiven 2007 and No Mercy 2007 rental exclusives, prior to that they were available for sale. Would the Benoit issue that time, which was big news in wrestling have an impact on their deal with Blockbuster and basically distancing themselves away from WWE?

    • Jake Ziegler says:

I bought SummerSlam 2007, Unforgiven 2007, and No Mercy 2007 the day they came out. Don’t recall them ever being rental exclusive.

      • Tony Kegger says:

Blockbuster had a bonus disc. I rented No Mercy 2007 from Blockbuster and the bonus disc had John Cena getting injured by Randy Orton and other extras.

  16. Sake Joe says:

Shocked that CM Punk was eliminated, although there is no denying how good The Rise and Fall of ECW is.

  17. Bryan says:

Seriously vote WM 17 out already it’s a great PPV not a great DVD. All 3 of the other DVDs are better than WM 17. Sorry but I am so sick of WM 17 being so almighty WM 19 and Summerslam 02 are both better PPVs so its not even the best PPV or best WM.

    • Kenny says:

I’ve been voting against it for every round…except for about the first one or two rounds. I agree. Great PPV, but like with last round where it was up against Shawn’s DVD, no single match on there was as great as any match on the “Heartbreak & Triumph” set. It’s up against Bret’s DVD, and you can pick any single match on the PPV and it wouldn’t be nearly as good as any one match on Bret’s DVD.

I wish someone would explain why they are voting for this show. I don’t see any logical reason behind it.
