From the back cover, “Best of all the match featuring Tommy Dreamer winning the ECW World Heavyweight Championship from Tazz that WWE legally prohibited ECW from televising 12 years ago is now being made available for the world to see!”
Just got this and its not kissing when its welcome to the land of extreme all I have to say is buy it
Can’t wait to pick this up. I can’t wait for Volume 2, lol.
Will buy, but am disappointed that the 3rd disc contains all 99-01. When I think ECW I think the syndicated show from the mid 90’s that was on PASS sports from Detroit not the higher grade TNN show. Oh well maybe more in vol 2.
Pass Sports — Now there was a quality sports channel. Actually the same way I found out about ECW! If I remember reading correctly, the site mentioned that as long as this set and Clash did well on the market, they’d be doing regular releases of ECW & WCW material — So, your hopes for a volume 2 aren’t too far off. I am getting both on Blu-Ray and gonna love it.

A shot of Tommy Dreamer with the belt or Dreamer battling Taz
should have been on the cover here – Dreamer/Taz were ECW not
Douglas or Bigelow. If they were going to have Douglas and
Bigelow on the cover – they choose Douglas doing a sunset flip?
Why not something hardcore? thats what ECW was about! Oh well!
Definiately a buy for me – Blu-Ray! LB…
It’s really too bad that they didn’t add this match to the set
ECW Living Dangerously 2000
or the Last Match that has Taz loses the ECW belt and the first appearance of the Late Mike Awesome he was one of the most unrated and amazing wrestlers ever he died way to young .Very sad
taz’s last match was at n2r 99 vs rvd, not the 3 way with awesome/tanaka
also mike awesome debuted before that 3 way dance, back in 98 i believe
Mike Awesome made his ECW debut back in late 1993.
I think I just get the dvd because I already have the blu ray matches .
@Brad
All their matches have already been released except for ONS 2005. And that match wasn’t that good anyway. So its win win!!
when did their 1995 taipei death match get released??
i wish rey mysterio vs. psychosis could have been added to blu-ray insteado of being removed.
All their matches have been released in previous ECW releases by WWE. Its an unreleased collection and doesn’t look like they’re counting the official pioneer releases from many years back.
They also have the RF Video and UK Delta releases which are a great way to get the rare footage.
Slow news from this site lately
Care to elaborate? Please show me another site which updates on WWE DVD news quicker or as comprehensively or show me the site that revealed the Extreme Rules cover this week. Right, it was this one. News was slow this week but for a topic like DVDs it’s quite frankly lucky that news comes as quick as it does.
If you mean this particular article, well Joey Styles works for WWE and I do not. So he has the scoop on the ECW DVD. So if you follow him on Twitter then you’d already have seen this news, but the majority of the site readers won’t have.
If it’s something else then you can email anytime with news you’ve seen that I may have missed. I encourage that.
The design is awesome, the listing is great, bring it on! June 6th here I come!
And by that I mean June 5th…
I can;’t wait!!!!

Now this is what an ECW tribute show should be, Shane Douglas take notes
Now this is what an ECW tribute show should be, Shane Douglas take notes
set looks great, but what does that mean? Douglas should book guys employed elsewhere or dead?
A DVD of old matches isn’t a tribute show.
