Best PPV matches from the first 10 months of 2012 would be a more accurate title.
Team Hell No & Ryback v The Shield was one of the most enjoyable matches of 2012, yet will not be released on the DVD due to WWE releasing it too early.
Funniest error they’ve made since the time they mixed up Antonio Inoki and Tatsumi Fujinami.
Lol, so the ‘Best PPV Matches of 2012’ features The Great Khali and not Chris Jericho?
Actually Khali plus 5 other guys.
I’m surprised they didn’t put any Jericho matches…at least the street fight from Extreme Rules would have been a nice addition since the WM match is on Punk’s DVD.
I also would have added Ziggler vs Sheamus from NWO and the Fatal 4 Way from OTL…both great matches.
Thank you Shane Montgomery
I’m not a fan of seeing Red and Yellow for a dvd cover unless it involves Hulk Hogan…
…or Ronald McDonald.
Waiting for the “covers don’t matter” comments to fly.
Pretty funny to see the screwup but that packaging is nice!
That’s one hell of a mistake.
The mistake doesn’t really bother me it still looks cool
Love the art direction of this, but wow – that’s a big screw-up. I was thinking to myself, “wait…when did Bryan and Show have a HITC match?” and then it hit me – they used a huge picture graphic and totally got the event (and match) wrong!
The Daniel Bryan vs. Big Show picture is obviously in a steel cage… yet, according to the packaging it took place at HELL IN A CELL… facepalm.
The event was royal rumble for starters and even though it says hell in a cell that doesn’t mean it has to be a hiac match.
Packaging looks really sweet.
But it’s a skip for me as I’ll be looking to purchase the whole 2012 PPV set next year. Hopefully someone (Amazon or WWEShop) will do the special where the whole 2012 PPV set is under $99.
I would like to see them get rid of the Hell in a Cell PPV or at least to have every match in a cage during the PPV. I miss seeing the occasional Hell in a Cell match on Raw, SmackDown, etc. One cage match on one PPV is not enough.
Not only is there that misprint, that match isn’t even on the DVD in the first place. Such a bizarre error/inclusion.
This kind of mistake should shock no one. The only thing worse is the fact that they don’t release all PPV’s on Blu Ray and that they actually release a greatest PPV matches at all in the first place.
From a financial standpoint WWE is better off releasing sets like Best of Clash of Champions, Attitude Era, Rock vs Cena, etc. on Blu-ray than the PPVs. I don’t think the DVDs of “B” ppvs like Over the Limit, MitB, No Way Out, etc. even sell well on DVD, sales will probably be non-existent on Blu-ray.
So the big 4 and the match compilations/documentaries are a safe bet for Blu-ray for now, like how they did when DVD was taking off. It wasn’t until 2002 (long after DVD became the dominant format) when WWE started to release every PPV on DVD. In 2001 they didn’t put out No Way Out for some reason, it was scheduled but cancelled for unknown reasons.
But i wouldn’t mind if WWE had the non-big 4 ppvs on Blu-ray exclusive to WWEShop…similar to Judgment Day and Vengeance 2002. That would be a good start.
Yeah Dave you bring up some good points. It’s just frustrating to not be able to get all PPV’s on Blu Ray. Yet Rock-Cena and Triple H-Taker have been released on 3 Discs already.
I agree…would love to have all ppvs on Blu-ray…i got a region free Blu-ray player about a year ago and have imported all UK exclusive WWE Blu-rays up to Money in the Bank 2012. Great stuff!
Its also region free for DVDs so I imported Tagged Classics – mostly Attitude era PPVs from 97-00 and In Your House sets.
I feel its worth getting and really opens up the possibilities of other region exclusive DVDs and Blu-rays – not just WWE.
Quite an odd little error if you think about it, as there would never be a cage match on the card of a Hell in a Cell PPV anyway.
LOL! wow! wonder if WWE will actually fix that with with 2nd reprints. Could be a collector’s item in the future.
Reminds me of the error they had with the Best of IC Championship DVD.
Yep, you guys have spotted a misprint!
In the Picture with Daniel Bryan and Big show, that was actually at the Royal Rumble, not Hell In A Cell. I can’t believe they screwed up haha!
Is this picture of Bryan & Show not Royal Rumble!?
