Only one thing is missing to make this a good documentary and DVD set – Chris Benoit.
I just watched disc one of this set last night. Haven’t gotten to the others in the set quite yet. Although, so far all I can say is that while I occassionally find him to be funny, anytime you have Santino Marella on a “Best of” list 2-3 segments (that I’ve seen so far), the set will probably rank no higher than “decent”, in my opinion.
My thought about the countdown was just “decent” also. Didn’t meet my expectations going in. The roundtable discussion and Making of Raw 1000 package were more interesting.
I just picked this up at my local Walmart. I watched the WWE Legends of Wrestling: The History of Monday Night RAW and it is about 5 minutes short as it doesn’t have the Jeff Jarrett “Be With My Baby Tonight” music video at the end. The music video was on the WWE Classics On Demand version.
Not sure if anybody is concerned about the time length of each disc like I am. For those who are here is the disc-by-disc breakdown: Disc 1- 3:37:35 (Moments- 3:29:59, Bonus- 7:36), Disc 2- 4:18:48 (RAW 1000- 2:23:44, Making RAW 1000- 5:39, Legends: RAW- 1:49:25) and all of that comes to be 7:56:23. So, it is about 35 minutes shorter than the approximate time of 8.5 hours.
My friend got this for me for Christmas yesterday and I watched it and I have to say it was decent, not as good as the other releases, if I did not ask for this for Christmas, I would have passed on this set due to no full matches except Raw 1000
I picked this up last night and I haven’t had a chance to get all the way through it. I think it would have been better to include the entire segments. Eapecially on the blu ray since they can hold more. I still think it’s a good set if you have a collection like I do. I always try to buy as much attitude era footage as I can. It’s not my favorite set but it’s good to have. I own some old rare WWF DVDs and the best of RAW voume 1 and 2 DVD is my favorite RAW DVD
Actual pics of the Survivor Series 2012 Blu-ray is out, but i noticed there is no Blu-ray exclusives listed in the back.

Could it be possible there is no Blu-ray exclusives for Survivor Series? they’re usually listed in the back but nothing is there.
just got finished watching the countdown, I recommend the bluray mainly for the round table discussion exclusive and the 1000 episode of raw. I have a question, How come the scratch and block logos are blurred in some clips? hmm,
I’m just guessing here, but the clips they have are on a database that various editors can access when editing these DVDs together. I’m willing to bet someone pulled a censored clip from the database instead of a non-censored clip, either by habit or mistake. As the months go on, they’ll eliminate the censored clips altogether, it’ll just take time.
I’m gonna talk about this more in my review, but for the random blurring and some other reasons, I think it’s really clear that the countdown was put together pretty damn quickly. Honestly, I think rushing and accidents was the only reason for this.
I heard this dvd set sucks balls. Glad i didn’t pick it up. Raw 15th anniversary dvd set FTW!!
Picked up my copy of RAW 100 last night. I’m guessing this was a hot release because I called around to a few stores and they were all sold out of them. That wasn’t the case with the Attitude Era and nWo releases though, as they had plenty of those when they were first released.
I don’t know if it’s a hot release so much as there’s not a lot of distribution. I don’t know where you’re at Vincenzzzzzo, but up here in Canada, looking for one is like searching for a needle in a haystack. Stores like Best Buy and Future Shop don’t even have them listed in their catalogue. As Platt says below, WWE doesn’t even have it listed in its own Shop website. Makes me wonder if sales are affecting this (home video sales are down 38% compared to last year) and if they’re not distributing as much to cut down on costs.
I’m in Connecticut, USA, and a couple of stores that I called actually said they were sold out. They told me they received only about 6 or 7 of each format (Blu-ray / DVD). But I think you’re right too, because one Best Buy store I called never even received them in, so what you saying definitely makes sense.
I live in Canada too and its really difficult to find WWE Blu-rays…Best Buy and Future Shop around my area still don’t have the Attitude Era DVD and Blu-ray. Best Buy for example only has WM28 and Falls Count Anywhere on Blu-rays, thats it…they actually carry more DVDs though with the latest being the Lesnar Collector’s Edition.
It seems like the only place that has these in-stock on a regular basis is Amazon.ca, i just been ordering from there the past year and always got them a day of or day after release.
Walmart is also pretty good with stocking DVDs, but seems like they stopped carrying the Blu-rays for the past two years. I remember the last one they carried was John Cena Experience.
I used to always buy my WWE DVD’s and Blu-rays from Best Buy and when the last Stone Cold Steve Austin set came out, I couldn’t find that in any store. So I started shopping online with Amazon and I think Amazon is awesome. Great prices and fast delivery. I always get my deliveries within 3 days. The past few releases I’ve been able to find at Best Buy but Amazon is a great way to get DVD’s too.
I was marking out all over looking at the box for this today! Best part was the surprise to me that Raw 1000 was on there!
Read this site more often Breech – begging ya. 😉
Did you realise the actual countdown of Raw’s 100 Greatest Moments is almost FIVE HOURS SHORTER than SmackDown’s Top 100 Moments from 2009 – 5 hours! WTF?
Doesn’t Smackdown’s countdown have actual full length matches in it? I could be wrong, as I haven’t watched it, but I think that could be the reason, whereas the Raw countdown just shows clips.
I noticed it. Unfortunately, WWE will continue to decrease the tminutes of footage per release until more people start noticing it and start complaining about it. I’m disappointed that nobody seems to care. At this point, it seems the only thing people care about is that the cover features CM Punk and doesn’t include Cena. Frankly, I’d rather have a 10 Hour 2 Blu-Ray set with no artwork and full of unreleased matches than to have a release that’s only 8 hours featuring a lengthy documentary and cool artwork. Ultimately, who cares about the artwork? You buy to watch the show, not look at the cover. And, as far as the documentary goes, they’re generally biased anyway, so I’d rather have a shorter (1 hour) documentary that will allow them to sell their biased message, but also give us more minutes featuring the promos and matches that made us a fan of the release’s focal point in the first place.
Anyone know when WWE plan to stock this on their own site?
Is that an insert I see? Yes, please! More of that.
Beautiful! I’m loving how WWE Blu-ray releases are implementing more slipcases. Very nice cover art.
I have forgotten what other DVD has the Bret Hart return to Raw in 2010? Is this clip the exact same one?
Thx
It appears on Shawn vs. Bret dvd/blu ray as well.
Anyone know which matches are shown in full on this?
Nothing shown in full outside of matches from Raw 1000. The countdown is in the style of the recent countdowns the WWE has released. It runs about 3.5 hours.
OK thanks Joe. I think I will give this one a miss. But isnt there another Raw DVD on the schedule for 2013? Is that a 20th Anniversary set or a best of Raw and Smackdown 2013, or do we not know yet? A season anthology box would seem ambitious to me as it would be about 40 discs if they stick to the format they started with.
If they are doing a 20th anniversary box set then I think that set is more likely to be your definitive must own collection and they are just using the 1000th episode as a reason to use the countdown concept and get another DVD out and complement the Smackdown set. To be honest, I would really just like to have one really great definitive Raw set. The 15th Anniversary DVD is probably the best we have at the moment, but I really disliked the info pop ups on that one. I’m not a fan of countdown style DVDs, but I’m sure the roundtable would be good on this one.
It might be 40 discs, but each disc will only 10 minutes long! Lol 😉
Does anyone know the runtime of the roundtable discussion?
The packaging on this Blu-ray says the Legends of Wrestling show runs for 90 minutes. This episode was actually on WWE Classics On Demand last month, and if I remember correctly, it ran for exactly two hours. I haven’t watched the Blu-ray version of the show yet, so I don’t know if anything was edited out of the Blu-ray version, making it shorter.
It doesn’t help much when I just watched the Attitude Era DVD and then I look on this DVD to see some repeats. No big deal though.
Its 1hour50 and is really great for an added extra!
I long for the day when the Blu-ray packaging matches that of the outdated DVDs.
