Photos: WWF VCD (Video CD) 1998-2001 Asia Collection

May 6, 2010 by Daniel Bee

These are the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) VCDs I have imported & collected over the years. The country of origin is Malaysia and these were released officially by a company named Sendi Mutiara Entertainment.

Each VCD title contains multiple discs due to there being less space on a Video CD disc to hold content. Often there would be a bonus disc included also.

The WWF events here range from the years 1998-2001. Many of these titles at the time of release were only available on VHS Video in other regions. The long style cases and unique art work present on these early Sendi Mutiara WWF VCD releases make these items very interesting to collect.

I owe a few of these sets, Except for PPVs they also released other titles like 3 Faces of Foley. Even had WWF Heat and WWF Metal sets for sale. Sometimes bundled with a (now classic) UFC PPV or a b-movie.

I remember that the King of The RIng 2001 PPV was already for sale in the stores one or weeks after broadcast.
