Exclusive: Planned WWE DVD 2011 Schedule – Reveal #1 & Video Inside

October 30, 2010 by Daniel Bee

WWEDVDNews.com has obtained a list of currently planned WWE DVDs & Blu-rays for 2011. Not the previous bunch of rumors, but a schedule from the WWE themselves.

Given the time frame, obviously it’s tentative and some titles will change but the source can’t be faulted. At this moment all are scheduled. We will reveal 2 DVD titles each week, starting now!

This week’s reveal is WCW themed!

……………………………………………………………………………

The Best of Nitro: Seasons 1 & 2 – This is on the schedule right now for a release in May 2011, which should please a great many people who were hoping for a WCW Nitro themed DVD. 1995 and 1996 will be covered, likely following the same format as the recent Raw seasons release.

Goldberg – It appears this DVD was originally planned by WWE for 2010. Obviously this won’t be happening and we can speculate the reason for this is likely because WWE will release it in 2011 if they can secure Goldberg for the Hall of Fame and perhaps WrestleMania.

The only thing is, most of the great matches on Nitro were from Benoit. Its going to be crappy not seeing his matches with Eddie and Booker T. I hope they eventually put him back in their footage. In 96, he joined the Four Horseman. How are they going to omit them on a Nitro set.

  3. tedz says:

Nitro season 1 and 2 sounds great. I can’t wait for this. I think that WWE should start releasing Best of Raw, Best of Nitro seasons a little quicker. I want Best of RAW 97-98 and Nitro 97-98. I hope they do this with ECW Hardcore TV and ECW on TNN.

Hey anonymous, go watch high school wrestling if you want “technical”. Goldberg always put on a show with his 2 to 3 minute (not 5 minute) squash matches. I bet you cheered for him back in the day, and I also bet you chanted BORING when Lance Storm performed as well. He’s a great technical wrestler.

  5. If they really do make the niro one like the raw ones then it should be awesome!

As I said on Facebook, it will be interesting to see how they do the 1995 part of the Nitro set given that Nitro only ran for three months in 1995.

A Goldberg DVD would be boring as all hell. All his matches were 5 minute squashes, no doubt he was a big draw and a big name but come on…and the HOF is a bit early for him. A lot of big names need to go in still, with that being said the Nitro DVD does sound great.

  10. Ricardo says:

Goldberg doesn’t deserve to be in any hall of fame. He’s a disgrace to true wrestlers and he ended the career of the best of all time Bret Hart because he was too green and careless.

Can’t Wait ^_^ but one thing does scratch my head, is Goldberg really H.O.F. worthy, I mean they have William Perry and Bob Uker in the Fame and they didn’t do anything other than appear one time at a WM. I would love to see Goldberg have 1 more match but Fame worthy…ehhh

  12. Safx41 says:

    I wonder whats next 😀

  13. wwefan10993 says:

Both of these sound really good. I just bought RAW seasons 1 & 2 and would love to have Nitro seasons 1 & 2. Goldberg’s could be good if it were a documentary with matches. That would be a good 3 disc set. If no documentary, 2 disc set of matches would be good too.

  14. SRB says:

This is fantastic news! Although I still feel guys like Rick Rude, British Bulldog, and Luger are more deserving of a DVD than Goldberg, I still think the Goldberg set will be great. Then we have the Nitro set… Amazing stuff there… WWE, good move. I will be picking up both of these

Can’t wait for the Goldberg set been waiting for that for years.
