Exclusive: Planned WWE DVD 2011 Schedule – Reveal #4

November 16, 2010 by Daniel Bee

WWEDVDNews.com has obtained a list of currently planned WWE DVDs & Blu-rays for 2011. Not the previous bunch of rumors, but a schedule from the WWE themselves.

Given the time frame, obviously it’s tentative and some titles will change but the source can’t be faulted. At this moment all are scheduled. We are revealing 2-3 DVD titles each week!

“ARE YOU READY” for this week’s reveal?

……………………………………………………………………………

Best Cage Matches – Planned right now for a Summer 2011 release is a new WWE DVD on the Steel Cage match type. No further details on this but if this is produced we’d expect it be a 3-Disc, “upgraded” version of the 2003 released Bloodbath DVD.

D-Generation X: The Final Conflict – Come April 2011 following WrestleMania we may be seeing a brand new D-Generation X DVD & Blu-ray, which one could speculate may document the full history of the group. Since it’s already been given a title (The Final Conflict) we are expecting it to go ahead as planned. Perhaps there was a little more behind Triple H and Shawn Michaels reuniting recently to promote Mania?

  1. Shibby MacFishstickz says:

the DX dvd will hold some pretty funny stuff. i know, because i was there.

  2. David T says:

The only issue with a DX dvd going back to 97 would be the pg rating in todays wwe. It would be heavily edited.

  3. Gav says:

Wow if this covers every dx moment frm attitude 97 to hbk retiring that wud b ace jus lets c if its more then a 3 dvd set this time i av every raw n s.d so far but but iam a collecter worth avin this

  4. John31 says:

My Prediction, DX will be on Wrestlemania 27. Shawn Michaels can’t wrestle alone, but they never said anything as a tag team. Its a one match thing!

  5. Jessica Sollhart says:

Nathan, absolutely agree with you about the matches you mentioned, really, really exciting ones, WWE really should think about such sets as well. 🙂

  6. matthew says:

I would like to see the specialty cage matches added to the DVD, WCW’s Thunderdome, Triple cage and Tower of Doom matches.

  7. Nathan says:

Looking forward to the cage match one.

Jessica, speaking of last man standing and Iron man matchups, I really hope the Jericho-HHH and Rock-HHH matches from 2000 shows up on DVD at one point. Maybe the HHH DVD that’s slated for next year.

  8. Corey says:

The cage match set is a bet meh the Bloodbath set back from 2003 was quite poor in it’s presentation and amount of matches in full. Im kinda of eiffy about the new DX set as the last one from 2007 about the 2006 run was horrible and the 2009 DX run was even worse than that. But if we get a history of DX dvd it could be better

  9. Cody says:

The steel cage dvd is okay with me but there is no point in making a DX dvd when its just going to be PG we are not going to get to see the real DX from the 90s.

  10. ck says:

Actually, nowadays, the WWE DVDs usually have their matches in their entirety. The other plus is no Johnathan Coachman hosting it this time around.

  11. Kyle Willard says:

decent picks. so far im most looking forward to nitro, triple h, and story of wrestlemania!

I cant stand DX, the one in 1998 was the only version I ever cared for, I think it was ridiculous to realease that first huge set initially (in 06) because it was basically lets watch Hunter and Shawn try and be funny…and now another one…ugh. Oh well they have their fans, the Cage match DVD could be good. I wonder if they have access to Memphis footage, if so it needs Jerry Lawler vs Randy Savage. Arguably the greatest cage match ever, and Tully vs Magnum is a given.

  13. David T says:

The new DX definitely needs a documentary and please include Chyna, X pac and the new age outlaws in this one.

  14. tnawwejosh says:

If its a doc for the DX one (Non kayfabe) i will probally get it. Steel cages caught my eye but thinking about it.. It will probally suck as WWE has not had a good cage match in years. Edge/Jericho 2010 was ok but it was no where near and i mean light years away from their classic cage match in 2002 which should be included.

  15. Anonymous says:

Steel Cage could be hit or miss, not interested in the slightest in the DX set.

  16. Daniel says:

I’m sorry but your wrong about the Steel cage match DVD. The first one was crap! Half the matches were highlights! And the rest were ok. I’m looking forward to the hopeful 3 disc set. Heres hoping disc 1 Nwa disc 2 WCW and disc 3 WWE.

  17. Daniel Bee says:

I’m the other way around – not too excited for a Cage Match DVD but looking forward to a DX DVD with an extensive documentary, new interviews and such. Plus it’s down for a Blu-ray release. Just me? 🙂

  18. ck says:

Jessica, while I do agree with the DX DVD, I think it’s awesome that they’ll release of a steel cage compilation, hopefully containing matches from WCW, AWA, World Class, and ECW.

  19. Jessica Sollhart says:

    Ewwww, another DX-DVD… -.- Lame.
And Best of Steel Cage? Hm, I rather would see a set with Iron-Man or Last Man Standing-matches tbh.
