WWEDVDNews.com has obtained a list of currently planned WWE DVDs & Blu-rays for 2011. Not the previous bunch of rumors, but a schedule from the WWE themselves.
Given the time frame, obviously it’s tentative and some titles will change but the source can’t be faulted. At this moment all are scheduled. We are revealing 2-3 DVD titles each week!
This week, announcing the continuation of a set from 2010 & another “Top 50” countdown release! – Past reveals here.
……………………………………………………………………………
The 50 Biggest Matches in WWE History – Currently planned for the end of 2011 is another “Top 50” type countdown DVD release, this time judging the 50 greatest matches to take place in WWE. If this one goes ahead I’m sure we can expect more controversies like recently seen with the recent Top 50 Superstars DVD.
Raw: The Best of Seasons 3 & 4 – Yes, the major reveal this week is confirmation that WWE is indeed planning to continue the Raw seasons DVD sets, moving on to 1995/1996 for August 2011. As we revealed recently also, WWE are planning a Best of WCW Nitro: Seasons 1 & 2 (1995/1996) release which ties in well with this one.
Discuss in the comments section below – last reveal coming next week!
The Hardys and E&C,= Legendary matches. So we end this peacefully
check that add the Hardy Boys and Edge & Christian to the list of good things during the attitude era and Jericho
GREAT stuff yeah alright Kane (Issac Yankem in a mask), Ston Cold F’n with McMahon, the McMahon Helmsley era, the Outlaws they suck ass except for their catch phrase, besides the Nation and Kurt Angle oh yeah and the 6 months HBK was around before being sidelined for 4 years the attitude era is and forever will be garbage and BTW I won’t being buying it son!!!
Did Bryan actually say that the Attitude Era sucks massive nuts? Did he actually say ewwww? You have got to be the lamest ass wrestling fan ever! Just those four guys, seriously? What about Taker and the arrival of Kane? What about HBK or the New Age Outlaws? All the great factions, and the Monday night wars. You actually had a good tag team division. I could go on for hours. Besides all of that, you don’t have to watch all of that GREAT stuff again, just don’t buy the DVD junior!!!
This is the second time that I’ve posted a comment on this page. I originally misread the 50 Biggest Matches In WWE History as the 50 Greatest Matches in WWE History. This means that Hulk Hogan versus Andre The Giant at WrestleMania 3 will definitely be on the list. So, I’m no longer excited about this upcoming dvd release. But, I’ll probably still buy it though.
ewwww when the 1999/2000 Raw set comes out talk about sucking seriously if I gotta see Rock this is your life or McMahon get hit with a bed pan one more time plus there was no HBK, besides the introduction of Y2J and Kurt Angle coming in the Attitude era sucks massive nuts unless your a Stone Cold, Rock, Mankind or HHH fan
And there won’t be any Flair/Steamboat matches since their classics battle were in WCW/NWA and this DVD will be about WWE matches only. Other matches i’m sure will be on the DVD:
– Bret VS Owen (Wrestlemania 10)
– Bret VS Mr. Perfect (Summerslam 1991)
– Rock VS Hogan (Wrestlemania 18)
– HBK VS Jericho (Wrestlemania 19)
– HBK VS Razor Ramon (Wrestlemania 10)
– Randy Savage VS Jake Roberts (Saturday Night main event 1986)
– Slaughter VS Pat Patterson (MSG 1981)
I know many matches will be from Wrestlemania. Should be a good DVD.
There is no way the 50 Matches will be in their entirety. Disc 1 will be a countdown just like the one in “The Top 50 Superstars” DVD and Disc 2 and 3 will likely be the Top 10 matches of the countdown or maybe matches that were not released often on DVD. I can already guest the Top 3 :
– Shawn Michaels VS Undertaker (Wrestlemania 25)
– Shawn Michaels VS Bret Hart (Wrestlemania 12)
– Ricky Steamboat VS Randy Savage (Wrestlemania 3)
I assume the top 50 matches will include many (meaning 35 or more) matches already on other previous DVD sets such as Ramon Micheals ladder match, Flair Steamboat matches, Bret Hart vs HBK, Hogan vs Warior ect ect
I’m intrigued by this 50 biggest matches DVD, but I doubt even a 3 disc set can hold fifty matches in their entirety. Probably most of the matches will just be highlights. Also WWE’s idea of Big, doesn’t always mean quality wrestling action.(Hogan and Cena!)
I’m so extremely excited about both of these upcoming dvd releases. This is the first that I’ve heard about this 50 Greatest Matches In WWE History dvd project. It will be so very interesting to see which great WWE matches make this list and which don’t. I have the RAW The Beginning: The Best Of Seasons 1 & 2 four disc dvd set and ever since I bought it on the first day of its release, I’d been waiting for WWE to announce a dvd release for RAW: The Best Of Seasons 3 & 4. My guesses for next weeks reveal is a Jerry “The King” Lawler multi disc dvd set and a History Of The United States Championship three disc dvd set.
Just want to add this. Danny i think they will find a way around it for sure they have had no problem making TV-14 DVD’s during the PG-Era take Batista’s DVD for example full of swears and blood. And i think they are easing up on the PG rating as well on TV and if it continues i am sure 5 + 6 series is coming in 2012.
YES!!!!!!!!!!!! My favourite reveal yet. I hope series 5 + 6 is coming in 2012 1997 and 1998 are two of my favourite RAW year’s ever. Top 50 matches sounds so cooooool…IF and only if they get it right but a bad thing about this top 50 matches is that they have released so many match DVD’s (HIAC,Ladder/TLC,Cage,Elimination Chamber) that disc 2 and 3 which will contain matches might have lots of the same matches which i hate when it happens Jericho’s DVD had this problem as well.
Thanks WWEDVDNews for the good news.
Just to add to this, when we met the person from WWE at the Smackdown tapings he suggested they plan to do a Raw seasons set every year. They are a bit concerned how to do the Attitude Era years because of showing that content in this PG “era”. Sounded interesting.
This is the best news ever. The RAW sets need to keep coming. I’ll buy every one, no doubt about it.
Best of Raw season 3 and 4 will be terrible. Sorry but WWE was horrible back in 1995 and 1996, I watched every RAW back then and the matches were not great, nothing really important happened….What we really want is the Best from 1998-1999, the Attitude Era. I bought Best of Raw season 1-2 and it was a waste of time and money, life is too short to watch Tatanka vs Nikolay Volkoff or the debut of Dumpster Droese, sorry. I f i want to watch a real wrestling match i’ll watch Flair Vs Race or Hennig VS Bockwinkel, not Bulldog VS Jarrett. In my opinion WWE should have released the best from the Attitude Era right from the start.
Man this greatest matches should be awesome!
im 50/50 on this week… the raw seasons are an absolute must. i spent last night rewatching my seasons 1 and 2 and i think its great that we get to see how raw has grown over the years into what it is today… 50 greatest matches??? not the best idea, although this DVD proibably shouldve been made years ago i agree the controversies will be great and its obvious that these matches will not be in full. good luck trying to put about 50 years of wrestling on 3 discs.
OMG thank you, thank you, thank you!! Best of Raw season 3&4. 2011 hurry up, Raw 1995-1996 & Nitro 1995-1996 Ohhh yeah.
I love Highlight DVDs so I definitely look forward to this. 😀
