The latest we hear is that if a UK supermarket/retailer picks up the title soon then it will go ahead as originally planned, and we should know its fate by this time next week. Watch this space.

  1. SCSA says:

The ‘1998: A Look Back’ sounds good & also sounds the best to me out of all the others in the list, however would this just be another ‘Attitude Vol 4’⁉️

  2. Ruthless.Attitude.Eras.4Life says:

The Roman Empire at the bottom.. along with the current product’s Best of Boring and Roman’s poster-boy predecessor Cena.

But of course, they will all be produced and become the “top sellers” along with WrestleMania, according to WWE. -lol-

Warrior, Macho Man, Shawn Michaels, 1998 and Shane for me. Go ahead.. Joke away about the Attitude Era and Ruthless Agression period.. and by god, there were some trashy shitty momens for sure..

but.. they are still more alive, entertaining and full of energy than todays robotic, “reality”-tv based New Era crap that has been going on for way too long with no direction at all.

    • LP1 says:

Yet AJ Styles and NXT are at the top of the lists, so today’s “crap” can’t be too bad.

      • Ruthless.Attitude.Eras.4Life says:

Absolutely matter of individual opinion, that’s for sure.. while I’m not high on nxt or the WWE version of AJ Styles, there are for sure glimpses of greatness here and there..

same goes for the product overall.. loved the fatal fourway at Summerslam.. joe vs brock at Great Balls.. and hopefully gonna be a great brawl between Strowman and Brock..

see the thread there? yep, brock in my mind is the only real interesting and exciting thing going on for the past some years..

brock’s a cornerstone of the ruthless agression era, and likely that’s why I still follow some of todays product, cos he is the only one that still can create some of the magic from the time where I found it exciting. And although it is watered down, it will likely be entertaining to see the 2 monsters on Sunday destroy each other. 😉

  3. Indyfan says:

The only ones i want are Savage Unreleased and HBk unreleased. Rick Rude would be good but it s going to be full of Repeats. Though i get the novelty of Shotgun Saturday night, the set would be pretty bad. Id be cool with a WWE Superstars set as long as there’s no jobber matches.

Honestly i don’t care about an Andre set at all. His matches aren’t that great. They might as well just do a network special.

  4. whut says:

a potential great thing about the “Best of Superstars” set would be that we might finally (and it’s weird that it hasn’t happened yet) get several title changes that haven’t been released on dvd so far.

  5. Brandon vendetta says:

The 25th anniversary of Andres death is next year. If they don’t finally do a proper Andre set I’m gonna be pissed. And does anybody know what happened with the documentary HBO was supposedly doing about him?? Last I heard was it was being made but that seems like it was forever ago. Haven’t heard anything about it in quite a while.

  6. RCS1988 says:

Hopefully a WWE Unreleased Never Before Seen Matches 1986-1995 Volume 2.

  7. SCSA says:

    I’d like a Shawn Michaels Un-released set if this means that we’d get matches that have been seen on TV & Video before, but not released on DVD neither BLU-RAY such as;
Shawn Michaels Vs Rick Martel – Summerslam 1992❗️

    • Anonymous says:

Wasn’t that released on the Summerslam Anthology?

      • Brandon vendetta says:

Yeah it was on the anthology. He likes repeats. Always wants em on upcoming sets. Why?? Gotta ask him. Me I don’t get it

        • Indyfan says:

But there are some great HBK matches not released yet like Rockers vs Powers of Pain from Supertape 2 or Micheals vs Ted Dibiase from Prime time or vs Kato from MSG in 1991. Theres also tons of Rockers vs Rougeaus matches that are awesome that haven’t been on DVD yet. Especially the one From Nassau Coliseum in 1989 or their tag matches from Paris and London.

          • SCSA says:

I agree including the Michaels/Martel match from SummerSlam92, though I must ask this that when they say unreleased matches do they mean matches that have never been on Home media before or just the matches that we’ve never actually seen before on television⁉️

            • Vintage Simon says:

There are absolutely stackloads of Shawn Michaels Raw matches that have never been released on Video or DVD too. Well over 100. A lot of these are fun matches that are well worth seeing the light of day on Home Video.

              • SCSA says:

So would they be likely to add matches that have hardly made it to any recent sets❓Matches including HBK Vs Rick Martel / Shawn Michaels Vs The Undertaker HIAC match at Bad Blood⁉️ These are the only two HBK matches I desperately want on a Blu-Ray set❗️Then again if the ‘Un-released matches’ set was only on DVD, yet had these two matches I would most likely get it

        • SCSA says:

Perhaps it was but that doesn’t mean that I need to buy the entire SummerSlam Anthology for one match that I really loved watching back in my young days‼️

  8. Chinny says:

The options for both lists I have to admit look sucky.

  9. Jordan B says:

Shoot! I was hoping to hear more about the Nxt gift set. (If it’s coming that is) Hopefully soon. Thanks for the updates as always

  10. BAS says:

Why not do a Raw 25th anniversary collection?

    • Brandon vendetta says:

What could they possibly put on a Raw 25th anniversary set that hasn’t been released multiple times already?? I was thinking about a Raw 25th anniversary set too recently till I came to my sences. Don’t think it’s gonna happen.

      • Vintage Simon says:

I kind of agree with Brandon. I do like the idea of a 25th Anniversary set, if it means regurgitating previously released material with 2012-2017 additions, I’ll happily pass.

That said, it’s episode 1000 of Smackdown next year, so I’m hoping for a special show and a subsequent Blu-Ray with the top 100 moments, similar to Raw 100 back in 2012.

      • BAS says:

I realize they’ve released a lot already, I meant 25th anniversary collection as in do a episode compilation set like they did with the 20th anniversary.

        • Brandon vendetta says:

Well that would be a different story if they did that. But having said that it’s not going to happen anyway. Im pretty sure word would have surfaced months ago if that was in the works. WWE never releases anything people would really love. Another 12 or 13 disc set with full episodes just like the 20 set but all unreleased to DVD episodes?? 25 episodes this time?? Hell yeah I would buy that. So would a ton of people but it won’t happen. Would have heard about a possiblity by now. Unfortunate but true.

  11. meme says:

LOL why is Nash in second place?

    • SCSA says:

I guess the Scott Hall set was pretty high too n a lot of people including myself wanted it… I guess this is the next one after the Hall set.

  12. meme says:

If they do do the 1998 one they need to include rare matches from Heat and Shotgun. The 1997 one was sort of like the cliffs notes version with mostly PPV matches. It helps there is more content to choose from.

    • Brandon vendetta says:

A 1998 set would just be another attitude era set I don’t think anyone really wants another one. Another set of repeats. I’ll pass I own enough of em.

  13. RabidHeat says:

That’s a little irritating about the Annual set because based on WrestlingDVDNetwork’s reporting last week that it was cancelled, I went ahead and bought the Best PPV Matches DVD. Now you’re telling me the Annual might be coming out after all? Thanks for that – big help.

    • Daniel Bee says:

Ahem. Not to throw anyone under the bus but this news came out via WWE DVD UK first. You know that, you were discussing it with a user in the comments last week.

Back to the DVD, well it sounds like it is off unless a retailer expresses interest in stocking it (presumably none have). The uncertainty appears to be frustrating you but we can only report what’s going on.

      • RabidHeat says:

I intended it to come across as a joke tbh, but reading it back now I can see it just comes across like I was actually being arsey – apologies. I shouldn’t comment that late at night when my brain isn’t functioning.

  14. RabidHeat says:

Lol – “1998: A Look Back” – I was only kidding when I was coming up with those other Attitude titles on the previous thread, but are they seriously considering doing it?!

  15. SRB says:

I went with the unreleased matches sets for Macho and HBK. As someone who is a huge fan of the Hogan unreleased dvd, i would like to see more of those. The second section of options are all pretty terrible in my view. If i had ideas for themed sets, a set on WWF and WWE women is one, and either another greatest rivalries set with Vince and Bischoff or a set paying tribute to superstars who passed away.

    • Indyfan says:

Damn Right!!! Theres plenty of Savage gems not released like vs Tito no DQ in MSG in 86 or Vs Dibiase at Wreslefest 1988. Same with HBK. We need some Rockers vs Rougeaus.

  16. justin says:

I don’t want another Cena DVD.

    • Vintage Simon says:

Agreed. The only Cena DVD I ever want to see is a full documentary once he’s retired. Despite not being a fan, it should be a fun watch, covering 15 years of WWE (and counting).

  17. Mark Markson says:

I can only imagine a Shane McMahon set will mainly feature PPV matches. Not so interested in that.

The 1998 set is only interesting if it has unreleased matches. Those Attitude Era sets must sell like crazy, since they are considering doing another.

    • d.p. says:

Unless they already took it down, there’s a collection on the network of Shane’s matches & been there for over a year

      • Mark Markson says:

I think that collection is still there. I have Shanes PPV matches in my collection, so I will only be interested in a Shane set, if there are Raw and Smackdown matches on it. But I think most of them are out on home video. Shane doesn’t wrestle that often on TV (or PPV).

  18. Can\'t give them away says:

Wow, they’re still trying to get rid of those Sheamus DVDs.

    • Shane C Montgomery says:

I am afraid that at this point Sheamus might develop a complex about being the only one of the eight to still have leftover DVDs five years later. Poor guy.

  19. Scott says:

IMO Box Sets should return and the profits from those can be funneled into Network. You could do ECW PPV Set then do a Starrcade Set. I am aware they did a Starrcade 3-Disc Set but that was ‘Best Of”

  20. Vintage Simon says:

Yes to a Best of Superstars during the original run (1986-1996), and absolutely no to anything that featured on Superstars from 2009-2016. And please, for the love of God, don’t try merging them together.

Other than that, hoping for a Shawn Michaels: Unreleased set and the AJ Styles and Chris Jericho titles. Oh, and for the Kurt Angle Network doc to be put on a Blu-Ray with the rest of his matches and, critically, a disc’s worth of his most entertaining skits.

    • Mark Markson says:

They will probably also include newer Superstars matches on a Superstars set. They did it with the Best of Saturday Nights Main Event, where they included stuff from the resurrection of that show. I hated that. I’d much rather have more old footage on DVD.

It also happened with one of the 2 disc ECW sets. Lots of classic, old footage and some matches from WWE ECW.

      • Derrick says:

The new saturday night’s main event was okay but they added the wrong matches on the set. I personally would’ve liked to have seen the John Cena and Triple H vs Kurt Angle, Rey Mysterio and Randy Orton match on it instead of the DX vs. Spirit Squad squash-fest.

      • Vintage Simon says:

Hey Mark. I fear you’re right, but I’m hoping there’s a grey area with the two shows that might limit a potential set to the original run. SNME really was billed as a rebirth of the original series (at the time, in 2006), but Superstars (circa 2009) was never treated as a continuation of Superstars of Wrestling (circa 1986) if I recall correctly.

Did anything actually happen on the modern day Superstars that would warrant inclusion on such a set? On the rare occasions I caught it, it seemed to be bouts like Jack Swagger vs. Primo, and similarly inconsequential match-ups.

        • Mark Markson says:

Not much of interest happened on modern day Superstars, you are right. I stopped watching it about 2 years ago. Only rarely were there a good match on it.

    • Shane C Montgomery says:

All good ideas, also would like to see Halloween Havoc Best Of BR and I would buy another In Your House Best Of. The first one was great. Too bad we couldn’t have another round of BR releases on par with 2012 and 2013. I think the bar was set then and probably too difficult to duplicate, but it was a fun couple of years.

      • Shane C Montgomery says:

I am not saying there has not been any good releases since then but back then it seemed like every month saw a good release.
