Pre-Release Photos: CM Punk – Best in the World WWE DVD

September 15, 2012 by Mark D

With thanks to Gerald Orr, we can now bring you a first look at WWE’s CM Punk: Best in the World 3-Disc DVD with these pre-release photos!

The DVD and Blu-ray is released in the US on October 9, pre-order yours here.

On June 27, 2011, CM Punk forever altered the course of WWE history with a blistering rant, proclaiming, “Day in and day out for almost 6 years I have proven to everybody in the world that I am the best… on this microphone, in that ring, even on commentary. Nobody can touch me!”. Since riding into the scene as an extra in John Cena’s entrance at WrestleMania 22 to defending the WWE Title in main events all over the world in recent years, the “Voice of the Voiceless” has backed up that statement.

Now, WWE fans get an unprecedented look inside the life and career of the most controversial Superstar of this generation. The first ever documentary to focus on CM Punk traces his rise to the top of WWE, from this early success on ECW, his divisive perpetuating of the Straight Edge Subculture, to becoming internationally revered as the best wrestler in the world, and all the 5 star matches and verbal “pipe bombs” in between. Packed with new interviews and commentary from Punk himself, as he takes the viewer inside his day-to-day life. Plus relive the signature matches that have punctuated his WWE career and vaulted him into the championship spotlight!

best set, for the best in the world!

  2. T-Dub says:

    Bring Back Brett Mix

  3. John says:

I am not a big fan of CM Punk but that is a really nice set! I will be buying anyway since I love collecting DVDs, I am weird….

    • John says:

Whoops, I forgot to mention, I will be buying the Blu-Ray version but I think I will get the DVD too since the Blu-Ray will not have that nice packaging

  4. Daniel Almeida says:

Cm punk sucks, the most overrated wrestler in wwe history!Who cares cm punk really?Cena,The Rock,The Undertaker,Triple H ,Bret Hart, Stone Cold and Shawn Michaels are LEGENDS and ICONS in the industry,cm punk is nothing more than a stone cold hilarious rip off!No respect for a punk!

  5. RabidHeat says:

When you consider that Vince signed off on the idea of releasing a DVD entitled ‘Best In The World’ for him, let him speak his mind totally a year ago and has invested so much money in putting a comprehensive set like that together (it looks better than lots of other superstars’ sets!), you can’t deny that the company is behind him. They’re certainly not consciously trying to bury him. They just need to start letting him wrestle last on PPVs!

    Can’t f***Ing wait

  7. Tony Kegger says:

Is there any Alternate Commentary? I thought that was reported and yet it hasn’t been officially announced anywhere.

    • Mark D says:

I understand that several news outlets did report that CM Punk and Paul Heyman attended WWE Headquarters to record commentary; however the set does not feature any alternate commentary. One could assume it was ‘talking heads’ segments which were being recorded, rather than a special audio track. (Although a Punk/Heyman alternate commentary track certainly would have been interesting)

  8. Vincenzzzzzo says:

    Cool, thanks

  9. Dave says:

Packaging is great, but it all depends on content…are you going to be watching the actual content or staring at the packaging all day?! Buying both is absolutely worthless.

    Blu-ray is good enough.

  10. indyfan says:

Let me get this straight.. Some people want to buy both dvd and blu ray simply for packaging? Some people obviously have to much money to spend.

  11. zach says:

as zack ryder would say. THATS SICKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK

  12. WWEATTITUDEERA says:

Wow that just looks sick inside packaging, blu-ray is still the no1 choice for me also, no point getting 2 version of the same thing, but i guess the dvd will nice to have, i’d go for the dvd and blu-ray if you have plenty of shelf space or your willing to spend £40.99 here in the UK
DVD £17.99, Blu-ray £22.99, otherwise just stick to the blu-ray (if you have a ps3 or a blu-ray player) the quality of the footage and extra special feature more than make up for it, Guna epic cant wait for this around XMAS Time!!

  13. straightedge47 says:

Have they edited out his tattoo on his right knuckles or is that just the light?

    • LP1 says:

They definitely airburshed out his “Drug” tattoo. Not the first time they’ve done that. It makes no sense to me. A guy is advocating a drug-free lifestyle and somehow that’s a bad thing to show. Absolutely makes no sense to me.

      • RabidHeat says:

It’s an issue with the word “drug” even being on there I think. Pedantic parents would probably complain about ANY message linked to drugs, even a positive one.

  14. Geolink says:

    Amazing.

I’m going to feel sad because the Blu-ray packaging won’t be as epic as the DVD’s.

  15. pmdmf says:

Why can’t they do this packaging with blu ray? I guess it’s incentive to get people to still buy dvd I guess.

  16. Tyler says:

Damn that’s beautiful! I definately getting the Blu-ray version, but the DVD version is so nice I might get both, especially since I’ve have been and will continue to be a CM Punk fan since day 1.
